The diploma thesis deals with the issue of artificial hearts and ventricular assist devices. The theoretical part describes the heart and its function. Blood is characterized in terms of rheological behavior and the possible criteria for hemolysis are discussed. The following section describes the most commonly used ventricular assist devices, with emphasis on the use of the regenerative pump, including its components. In the practical part, an experimental analysis of two pumps (COV 43 and COV 23) is performed. Furthermore, non-dimensional characteristics of the pumps are constructed using the laws of similarity. In the computational part, the CFD analysis of the regenerative pump is performed by means of stationary and transient calculation. The results are compared with the experimental findings and based on the results, the impeller of regenerative pump was modified.

This thesis deals with ultrasound blood flow meter design with emphasis on practical implementation of such device. This medical device is used in ultrasound diagnostic, especially for measuring direction and velocity of blood flow in superficial vessels. This thesis contains consecutive design including description of individual function blocks. Documents for making double-sided printed circuit are included as well.

This work deals with possibilities of ultrasound perfusion analysis for the absolute quantification of perfusion parameters. In the theoretical part of this work are discussed possibilities of using of the ultrasound contrast agents and approaches for the perfusion analysis. New methods for the perfusion analysis are suggested and tested in the practical part of this work. The methods are based on convolutional model in which the concentration of the contrast agent is modeled as aconvolution of the arterial input function and the tissue residual function. The feasibility of these methods for the absolute quantification of perfusion parameters is shown on data from phantom studies, simulations and also preclinical and clinical studies. The software for the whole process of the perfusion analysis was developed for using in hospitals.

Electroencephalography and functional magnetic resonance are two different methods for measuring of neural activity. EEG signals have excellent time resolution, fMRI scans capture records of brain activity in excellent spatial resolution. It is assumed that the joint analysis can take advantage of both methods simultaneously. Statistical Parametric Mapping (SPM8) is freely available software which serves to automatic analysis of fMRI data estimated with general linear model. It is not possible to estimate automatic EEG–fMRI analysis with it. Therefore software EEG Regressor Builder was created during master thesis. It preprocesses EEG signals into EEG regressors which are loaded with program SPM8 where joint EEG–fMRI analysis is estimated in general linear model. EEG regressors consist of vectors of temporal changes in absolute or relative power values of EEG signal in the specified frequency bands from selected electrodes due to periods of fMRI acquisition of individual images. The software is tested on the simultaneous EEG-fMRI data of a visual oddball experiment. EEG regressors are calculated for temporal changes in absolute and relative EEG power values in three frequency bands of interest ( 8-12Hz, 12-20Hz a 20-30Hz) from the occipital electrodes (O1, O2 and Oz). Three types of test analyzes is performed. Data from three individuals is examined in the first. Accuracy of results is evaluated due to the possibilities of setting of calculation method of regressor. Group analysis of data from twenty-two healthy patients is performed in the second. Group EEG regressors analysis is realized in the third through the correlation matrix due to the specified type of power and frequency band outside of the general linear model.

Trombophilia means an increased disposition to creation of trombs. Health complication incurred as a consequence of hypercoagulation can be very serious. When a trombophilic mutation is found at a patient, it brings necassity of thrombosis - control in risk situations (e.g. pregnancy, operation) for the rest of the patient's life. There were filed 300 people (206 women and 94 men) with trombophilic mutations into my study of clinical signification of trombophilic mutations. These people were examinated in years 2008 - 2010. Most of positive medical findings - 266 people, were recorded in the area of MTHFR (C677T i A1298C) mutations. There were less findings in the field of FV Leiden and FII prothrombin mutations. Multipath trombophilic mutations were found at 99 patients. I accordance with foreign literature, our results advert to clinical consequences of trombophilic mutations like: repeated spontanious aborts, cerebrovascular akcident (CA), ischaemic heart disease (IHD), thrombosis, flebothrombosis, pulmonary embolism, varicose veins, aseptic necrosis of hip bone, arterial sclerosis and aortic stenosis. Mutations MTHFR C677T and MTHFR A1298C we found mainly at patients with CA, IM and IHD. Leiden mutation was most often found at patients with thrombosis, flebothrombosis and pulmonary embolism. The presented work deals with the conception of the Eucharist in the Gospel of John. The first chapter is dedicated to terms of the Eucharist, the Last Supper and the Lord{\crq}s Supper and also to the existing division of possible approaches to the sacramentality in the Gospel of John. In the subsequent chapters it deals in detail with five places of the Gospel of John, that are mostly mentioned in connection with the Eucharist. It is the wedding at Cana (2,1-11), the eucharistic section (6,51-58), washing of the feet of disciples (13,1-20), the Vine and the Branches (15,1-17), opening of the side of Jesus (19,34). The work tries to solve the topic (question) in the context as wide as possible including the question of the johannine sources of inspiration. In this way it can be seen the mutual correspondence of these varios places and the deep theological conception of the hole Gospel. The replacement of the institution of the Eucharist in the thirteenth chapter with the washing of the feet and it{\crq}s displacement to {\clqq}the bread of life discourse`` in the sixth chapter is due to the proper evangelist{\crq}s intention. There was an impending danger, that the Eucharist became a magical medicine without any relation to the incarnation and the sacrifitial death of Jesus. These facts have theirs own consequences for the life of the christian community. So the subject of the sacraments has been subordinated to the christological accent.
