ABSTRACT: This thesis deals with teaching Computing subjects at secondary schools in England as a model for transformation of teaching ICT at schools in the Czech Republic. The thesis focuses on the portability of aspects of teaching Computing to the Czech environment and endeavours to identify the possible barriers to implementation processes. The aim of the thesis is to bring new stimuli for changes in the Czech ICT curriculum that are based on the experience of teaching ICT and Computing in the UK. The theoretical part of the thesis consists of the analysis and comparison of the Czech and British curricular documents and the study of academic and journalistic texts. The empirical part uses questionnaires focused on opinions of Czech and English experts on teaching ICT or Computing. It also uses interviews with English teachers of Computing and observations of Computing and ICT lessons at English secondary schools. Hmyz ve výuce přírodopisu na základní škole: zamýšlené a uskutečněné kurikulum / Insects in the teaching of biology in elementary and secondary school: Intended and implemented curriculum

This diploma thesis focuses on the curriculum topic of insects from two perspectives. The first view is intended (presumed) curriculum, the second implemented (achieved) curriculum. To determine the intended curriculum, a curriculum analysis of the insects contained in 6th grade primary biology textbooks and the corresponding level for grammar schools was used. Based on the analysis a didactic test is compiled, in order to determine the mastery of the subject matter by pupils the implemented curriculum. The results show a lower value of the intended (about 53%) than the implemented curriculum. In addition, the rate of the implemented curriculum, depending on the individual sub-circuits curriculum about insects, was found to be unbalanced.

Projektované, realizované a dosažené ICT kurikulum na základních školách / Designed, Implemented and Achieved ICT Curriculum at Basic Schools

One of the base intention of this research in didactic sphere is to describe and to analyse curriculum in all of its forms. In educational sphere focused on Information and Communication Technology (ICT) or on Informatics, this intention is very actual mainly due to recent integration to compulsory part of curriculum at elementary schools and also due to its dynamic development. This PhD thesis follows researches analysing curriculum of other educational spheres and also follows survey devoted to implementation of ICT to educational environment. Second type of research uses mainly quantitative method and relied on declarations of respondents. Compared to this, there was chosen qualitative case study getting data also from analysis of documents or from observing. At first, there are identified terms of curriculum, its phases and ICT literacy which presents one of the main goals of educational environment in the Czech curriculum. Then it is fol-lowed by analysis and summary of results of already realized surveys focused on teaching conditions of ICT and with ICT, together with informatics themes and their relations to individual actors. Last but not least, it is finished by results of students in ICT literacy and informatics thinking. Based on analysis of documents, the empirical part of theses describes models used to definition of educational sphere of ICT and projected curriculum of chosen basic school. Realized curriculum and its changes are deduced from analysis of notes in class-book. Videorecords of some lessons were used to verification of notes and also to analyse used educational methods. Based on its analysis, there were defined also educational goals of these teaching units and reached curriculum. Special practical exercise was used to verify the knowledge and skills of selected knowledge and skills. This thesis describes not only individual phases of ICT curriculum in chosen basic school but also identifies some differences between them. Finally, some of findings are used also as incentives to adjust the projected curriculum at the national level.

This diploma work is dedicated to problems of textbooks from view of harmony authors of the textbooks and realization education in the class (Fidelity of implementation of teachers guide). At the beginning of the theoretical part is short chapter about history of education system from the view of content of education. After that, the theoretic part deals with the textbook itself, its content and its creating. The work is thinking about difficulty of creating the new textbooks, and that from the view not only of teachers, but also from the view of authors and the publishers. Not less important is chapter dealing with researches of the textbooks. This chapter is divided in the researches before 1989 and after 1989, and using professional literature describes the variety ways of researches of the textbooks not only in Czech Republic, but also in foreign countries. Then the theoretic part is concerning of relation the textbook and its users, so the teacher, the student and also the parent. It tries to explain, how big part play the teacher and his choice of the textbook, due to interaction between him and the student during the education. Department of Social Geography and Regional Development, Charles University in Prague. The present diploma thesis analyses interdisciplinary relations between cartography and mathematics on three levels: on the level of intended curriculum, on the level of implemented curriculum and on the level of attained curriculum. On the level of the intended curriculum, project documents such as the Framework Educational Programme for High Schools and the School Educational Programmes of selected high schools are especially studied. The content analysis of selected textbooks of geography evaluates relations between cartography and mathematics on the basis of occurrence and (quality of) explication of required subject matters, amount of examples, illustrations and charts. Moreover, selected chapters of cartography, in which mathematical skills are applied, are elaborated in detail. The general aim of this thesis is to evaluate the conditions for fieldwork implementation and its level of employment in a given region. This aim is followed in three areas: 1) Definition of framework for fieldwork in strategic documents. 2) Analysis of fieldwork employment in a given region. 3) Analysis of teachers' approaches towards fieldwork. For the purpose of this thesis four grammar schools located within the Decin county were observed. The present situation pertaining to the employment of fieldwork was mapped in order to lay the foundation for an improvement of teaching techniques in geography. The issue of fieldwork is approached from different points of view: an institutional perspective (i.e. opportunities of fieldwork as defined in curricular documents, a subjective perspective based on the experience of teachers within the Decin county (i.e. empirical investigation).

Přístupy tří učitelek ke stejnému učivu / Approaches of three teachers to the same subject matter

The thesis is focused on comparison of three teachers' approaches to the same subject matter in the area of curriculum, differentiation and high expectations. There are analysed topics in question it the theoretical part. The chapter about curriculum contains information about setting curriculum, where is it set, which role does the teacher play in setting curriculum and how he/she chooses the curriculum. We can find there also information about what types of curriculum and approaches to it do exist. The chapter about high expectations explains the term self-fulfilling prophecy and also the way how it is created and how it can be changed. The topic of the last chapter is differentiation, where there are types of differentiation and way of working with pupil according to their needs. There are concisely described two groups of pupils, pupils with special needs and gifted pupils. The approaches of three teachers are based on recordings and interviews. The results of this study give us information about, how the teachers work with textbook materials and what is their approach to chosen unusual topic. The results also tell us, if the teachers are differentiating and if we can observe different behaviour to various pupils. Education on Healthy Lifestyle at Secondary School ABSTRAKT This thesis deals with am issue of healthy lifestyle among pupils at secondary schools. The aim of the thesis is to find out information, or knowledge, attitudes to and perception of the hidden curriculum of school corresponding to healthy lifestyles area. The theoretical part pursues the analysis of the concept of health and healthy lifestyle, includes a view of curriculum documents related to educational training for health and focuses on teacher as the major component affecting students in shaping the relationship and the principles relating to a healthy lifestyle. Practical part describes the level of knowledge of students, the degree of compliance with the principles of a healthy lifestyle and a measure of the hidden curriculum, which the pupils at the school are influenced by. Based on the results of the research the design for inspiration of the theme of healthy lifestyle education, which can be used in teaching practice, is stated.
