The aim of this Master's thesis is to process a business plan for dental clinic Easydent s.r.o., which decided to expand and set up a new dental practice in the city centre. The theoretical part presents the business plan in general terms, with a particular focus on the definition, the reasons for its formulation and the form and structure of this document. Moreover, this part also includes the criteria of the investment decision-making and static as well as dynamic methods of the investment evaluation. Afterwards, the specifics of doing business in healthcare are presented with special emphasis on dental medicine and the differences from other businesses. The practical part presents the business plan for setting up the new dental practise especially with focus on economic aspects of the project as well as on general feasibility. To conclude, I found that the investment according to the net present value is profitable and I recommend setting up a new dental practice in the city centre.

The subject of this thesis is a design of the volumetric infusion pumping unit specifically used for a human medicine purposes. The pumping unit is constructed by the linear peristaltic pump. The document focuses on mechanical design and disposition of particular components of unit and placement of electronic sensors and contacts. The thesis is elaborated as a part of infusion pump development project for a limited company.

This thesis deals with the way in which the human body was discussed from different points of view in a particular type of medical literature (so called "Family Doctor Books) in the second half of the 19th and early 20th century. The work is based on a premise that body is not only neutral biological foundation made in nature but perception of body and physicality is influenced by society. That's why certain social changes may reflect changes in perception of human body, especially its conceptualization as a female and male body. Since just around sixties of the 19th century both emancipatory activities of Czech women, their rights extension and generally transformation of gender relations in society started to develop. This work examines whether these social changes reflected in the manner in which it was human, and thus male and female, body reported on in a particular medical literature. This work also explores what such conceptions of human body say about gender changes in society.

This thesis deals with a question of physical fitness and physical regime of first-year dental students at the Charles University in Prague, First Faculty of Medicine. Results of a research on physical fitness and physical regime of first-year students of physical education on Faculty of Education of the Charles University will serve us as a comparision. Furthermore, this thesis analyzes to what extent the dentistry students are acquainted with difficulties of their profession, whether they know how to compensate inappropriate physical stress with a physical acitivy and what is their attitude to a physical activity in the present and their outlook for the future. The physical fitness was tested by using modified Unifittest 6-60, for the questionnaire survey was used a questionnaire consisted partly of questions from International Physical Activity Questionnaire, partly of questions created for purpose of this thesis.

The main aim of the thesis is the recalculation of cost for services provided in the Institute of Forensic Medicine in University Hospital Hradec Králové. The theoretical part includes, inter describtion of each calculation methods, comparation of medical services "market" with a purely market-base business sector. Practical parts consists of calculation of cost and subsequent comaparation with the values valid since 2005. Newly calculated cost should determine the actual amount of payment for services provided.

A field covering generation and evaluation of the medical information is a broad one. During my doctoral studies I focused on medical information mainly using the evidence-based medicine (EBM) principles. This approach leads to the use of currently best available medical data in the treatment of patients. The EBM methodology might be classified into two basic groups: afferent and efferent one. The afferent part is focused on development of information resources whereas the efferent one promotes optimal use of these resources and a critical application of the retrieved facts. Due to practical reasons (to limit extent of the text) I concentrated in the thesis on only one field of my activity. The text deals mainly with afferent part of EBM, namely with formation of a qualitative and quantitative synthesis of knowledge through compilation of a systematic review and meta-analysis. Compilation of systematic reviews of prognostic markers is discussed in a detail. It is a field not appropriately covered in the Czech literature. The practical outcome documented in the thesis is a description of the systematic review of immunohistochemical prognostic markers in intracranial ependymomas that was created and published by our research team. The object of this thesis is the design of eye measuring equipment, concretely autorefractometer. The proposed solution is based on innovative reorganization parts of this machine. The thesis is based on complex analysis of ophtalmology history, technical data and design of current autorefractometers. The design report contains the identified problems, variant design concepts and final solution. The design report accompained a product mock-up in 1:1 scale.

The objective of this thesis is to evaluate the cardiorespiratory fitness of sportsmen and obese patients through the medium of spiroergometry on cycloergometer by virtue of the analyzer of exhaled gas (Oxycon). Its advantage is that the measurement takes place "on- line", therefore it allows prompt monitoring of measured spiroergometric parameters directly on screen of computer that forms part of the analyzer. The spiroergometry is a method of determining the cardiorespiratory fitness through the medium of analyzer of exhaled gas in order to state the physical fitness. For statistical evaluation of differences in values of spiroergometric indicators between these two observed groups of patients I used the Student's unpaired T-test. The theoretical part contains an introduction into the issue of obesity, obesity epidemiology, history, aetiology and health risks of this disease, classification, diagnostics, treatment, and recommendations and advices for patients.
