Elements such as European integration, changes inthe composition of families, demographic ageing, capital globalization, among others, have severely altered the formulation and guiding of the European social policy. Along with these modifications, the labor market has been facing profound changes in its composition and regulation, such as in the labor law, contracts flexibility, higher women participation in the market etc. For being directly articulated with welfare, these factors have been examined nowadays by the European policy makers and the social partners. The main issue for the member countries has been how to deal with the challenges of fighting unemployment at the same time of assuring a modern social security system able to adapt to the regulatory changes in the labor market without harming the welfare of the citizens. This dissertation aims at calling attention to the unique cases of joined labor market flexibility and evolution of the social security system in The Netherlands and in Denmark under the context of changes in the directives of the labor market and social policy that have been going on in Europe. It is a reflection on the state of ¿flexicurity¿ in these countries, noticing its conformation and evolution as a political strategy in search of a fair balance between flexibility of work and social security / Mestrado / Economia Social e do Trabalho / Mestre em Desenvolvimento Econômico

The gap between the local labour market policy and employers – according to the employers statement

Stadig, Madeleine January 2022 (has links)
The local labour market policy in Sweden offers activities to unemployed people who need more competence to get self-sufficient. To get hired the unemployed people need employers who want to hire them. Employers’ perception of the activities from the local labour market policy is therefor crucial for the unemployed who take part in the activities. This master’s thesis aims to interview employers from low-skilled work and take part of their perception of the local labour market policy and their descriptions of their recruitment. This study is conducted via short telephone interviews with 277 employers in a county of Sweden. With a theoretical framework of institutional logics the result shows that there is a gap between the local labour market policy and the employers. The gap is visible mainly through the employers expression that the participants from the local labour market policy do not meet the employers requirements to be able to get hired. The employers seem to be governed by institutional logics such as market, individualization and to some extent also democratic logics.

Vliv strategického řízení diverzity na postavení žen ve firemním prostředí / Impact of Diversity Strategic Management on Position of Women in Corporate Environment

Mitošinková, Tereza January 2014 (has links)
The main theme of the thesis is the position of women on the labour market and the related fact that positions with major decision making competences are represented by absolute minimum of women. Intentional support of and managing diversity in corporate environment could be, therefore, one of the effective instruments forming more balanced representation of men and women across the corporate structure and hence on labour market but eventually in society as a whole. In the thesis are discussed benefits and difficulties of strategic diversity management in the corporate environment. The research section deals with the ways diversity management affect the position of concrete women in Česká spořitelna, a.s. This corporation was chosen for the survey in view of the fact that strategic diversity management has been implemented there and it is therefore possible to monitor the real impact of diversity management on the status of women in a particular corporation.
