Instalace hybridních lamp v ČR / Hybrid Lamps Installation in the Czech Republic

Malafová, Martina January 2009 (has links)
The aim of the paper "Instalace hybridních lamp v České republice" is to reflect on the worldwide phenomenon of renewable energy and its usage in everyday life in the form of a street lighting. Hybrid lamps are particular for the combination of the wind and solar power they generate thanks to the wind turbine and photovoltaic panels they carry. In order to evaluate their possible installation in the Czech Republic the business plan is viewed from four different perspectives - technological, economic, ecological and legal.

”ÄNTLIGEN!”- En lysrörsarmatur för det egna hemmet / ”FINALLY!”-A fluorescent fixture for the private home.”FINALLY!”-A fluorescent fixture for the private home.

Lindahl, Anton, Sandelin, Samuel January 2010 (has links)
The aim of our study is to ascertain whether a hanging suspension fluorescentlamp for a private home environment is going to be attractive for a largeaudience. We want to open up for new uses of fluorescent lamps as lightsources. The main approach in this work is how to design a fixture with fluorescentlamps as a light source that will meet the requirements and requests of thehome environment could look like. At the same time we want to make a newimpression of how a fluorescent light source.Primarily we used a quantitative method, but this was rejected after a pilotstudy. Instead we used a qualitatively based method in the sense that weconducted a group interview as well as individual interviews.Based on data from the interviews and our preliminary work a prototype wasbuilt. This prototype is a fluorescent fixture equipped with 2x14W T5fluorescent lamps, dimmed separately. The shape can be described as a soft, organic elongated oval. The luminary screen is made of rice paper, which givesa soft and pleasant light transmission. Access to the interior and electronics isprovided via the open ends of the screen, which is concealed by two endcapsules in plastic. The luminary is a hanging suspension via two wires fromthe ceiling, down to a metal bracket with the same curvature as the luminaryscreen. This metal bracket is then attached to the fixture with wires attached tothe interior, which in turn holds the screen. Our main conclusion is that you can create a very attractive light fitting for theprivate home market. In addition, we concluded that in order to achievesufficient data in a quantitative based study you need more time than what ispermitted within the timeframe of our work. We believe more in the idea offirst develop a good and functional prototype and then ask a panel ofprospective customers what they think about it. Their response will thereafterbe worked in to the final product.KeywordsFluorescent Luminary, fluorescent lamps, fluorescent lamps and luminaries, market, rice paper, dimmableAbstractThe aim of our study is to ascertain whether a hanging suspension fluorescentlamp for a private home environment is going to be attractive for a largeaudience. The design of a system for evaluating glare from small lighting sources

Joubert, Theresa 06 1900 (has links)
Thesis (Magister Technologiae - Discipline Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering) -- Vaal University of Technology / Discomfort glare is a topic that has been investigated for many years without any reasonable explanation regarding its effect on the human visual system. Results of previous research concluded that established methods have a lot of similarities in implementation; but a number of differences when comparing the results of observer's evaluations with the mathematically calculated glare ratings. Therefore, an alternative method of evaluating the influence of exposure to an unshielded light source was investigated to establish a more reliable and realistic response from observers. In order to address the discrepancies of previous evaluation systems concerning observer's varying opinions regarding the level of discomfort experienced, it was decided to investigate the feasibility of evaluating the brain activity of the observers exposed to an unshielded incandescent lamp. This was done in order to facilitate the differences in each individual observer's sensitivity to bright light sources and the influence of personal taste therefore, eliminating the effect of personal interpretation. The main purpose of this study was to determine whether it would be possible to get any response regarding brain functions when an observer is exposed to a bare light source. In order to determine the pathway of visual stimuli it was necessary to investigate the operating principles of the human eye in detail. Because the eye is only an instrument that makes seeing possible; it was also important to investigate the brain and all its different functions. The part of the brain where visual interpretation takes place was indicated as the occipital lobe. This is the part of the brain monitored for any change of functional status by taking measurements with an electroencephalogram (EEG). Measurements were indeed possible; it was presented as a suppression of the alpha brain activity. During the testing procedure it was observed that the observers were not equally photosensitive. There was also a difference in the amount of alpha suppression with the observer's eyes open and closed respectively. Because the alpha rhythm has a tendency to increase with closed eyes it was much easier to notice the suppression.

Recuperação de terras raras contidas em catalisadores exauridos utilizados no craqueamento do petróleo (FCC), e em pós-fosfóricos de lâmpadas fluorescentes descartadas / Recovery of rare earth elements from exhausted cracking catalysts (FCC) and from phosphoric powders of fluorescent lamps

Silva, Douglas Luís da 27 April 2017 (has links)
RE ions improve the thermal and hydrothermal stability of zeolites-Y during the petroleum refining process. The Brazilian production of these catalysts is around 25 thousand tons per year, requiring 900 tons of lanthanum oxide in the same period. Currently, China is responsible for 90% of the world production and market of RE. Since 2010, China controls the prices of RE elements and substantially reduced the exportation quota. For instance, by the end of 2011 the price of lanthanum was risen by more than 20 times. In this context, the search for recycling materials that have rare earths in their constitution becomes crucial, as is the case of the FCC catalysts from the cracking of petroleum. Another source that deserves significant attention is the phosphoric powders that generate white light in fluorescent lamps, which were also investigated in this work. Rhodia from the Solvay group has already begun the recovery of rare earths in phosphoric powders. The main RE used in fluorescent lamps are La, Ce, Eu, Tb and Y, which occur as Y2O3: Eu3+, BaMgAl10O17:Eu2+ and LaPO4:Ce3+, Tb3+. Eu, Tb and Y are high-value elements, representing by 5 20% of the total mass of phosphoric powders. Therefore, the aim of this work was to develop economically feasible and environmental friendly methodologies for the separation and recovery of RE ions from zeolite-Yin deactivated FCC catalysts and from fluorescent lamp phosphors. To this end, we firstly performed a preliminary characterization of the components of deactivated FCC catalysts. The following steps comprised the development of chemical separation methodologies to obtain rare earth elements and their characterization by several techniques such as photoluminescence spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence, complexation titration, scanning electron microscopy and infrared spectroscopy

Desenvolvimento de uma fonte luminosa baseada em lâmpadas halógenas para aplicações na fotobiologia e fotomedicina / Development of a light source based in halogen lamps for applications in the photobiology and photomedicine.

Fonzi, Wagner 15 August 2008 (has links)
The aim of this work was to produce a light source based in halogen lamps. This source should have appropriated technical characteristic for application in photobiology and photomedicine, it has easy operation and be commercially viable. The characteristics of different halogen lamps were evaluated and the lamp of smaller luminous divergence was chosen. We also have evaluated the material of the source holder, especially heating characteristics and weight; finally we chose an aluminum holder. Then, the lenses optical characteristics were studied, and we decided that the glass lenses used in projectors were the best. The materials and the construction of thermal filters were evaluated in order to reduce the heating of the object under irradiation, and we preferred to construct a thermal filter, that uses water as an heat absorber. The spectral and thermal characteristics, the radiant power (irradiance) and its space distribution of three prototypes were measured and evaluated, each one received modifications to become more appropriated to applications in photochemotherapy. We also made preliminaries tests of photocytotoxicity and the final prototype was used with the photosensitizer (Photogem®) in human colon carcinoma cell lines HT-29, resulting in the photosensitizer activation, that induced cellular death.

Análise e distribuição espacial de lucernas romanas de disco: o caso das províncias da Palestina e do norte da África / The analysis and Spatial distribution of roman provincial discus lamps: the case of Palestine and North Africa

Bastos, Marcio Teixeira 27 June 2016 (has links)
This PhD dissertation studies the production and distribution of Roman oil lamps made of clay in the Orbis Romanorum during 2nd and 3nd CE by means of thin-section analysis and comparative research, in order to identify workshops in the Levant. The results are compared with modes of production and distribution of Roman oil lamps of North African workshops, against their social and economic implications. This comparative research seeks trends of continuity, discontinuity and change of style and technology in order to foster our understanding of space and cultural identity definition amongst social groups that used clay lamps as social and mental marker

Cristianização dos espaços na antiguidade tardia: o caso de Apollonia-Arsuf / Early Christianization in Roman Palestine: The Case of Apollonia-Arsuf

Bastos, Marcio Teixeira 19 April 2011 (has links)
In this project I present the development of the research about the process of early Christianization in Roman Palestine via the analysis of Roman-period discus lamps retrieved from the archaeological site of Apollonia-Arsuf (Israel). It appears that the discus lamps that came from Roman Apollonia, of the late 1st to 3rd century AD, had the usual pagan and erotic moulded figurative scenes on the upper body intentionally broken away. The knowledge and analysis of this assemblage of hundreds of lamps, both through form and imagery contributes to a better understanding and characterization of the paradox that surrounds our subject of study. The research thus allows questions about the construction of orbis Romanorum and the relations established within this framework.
