Úloha laterality mozku v agonistickém chování jelena evropského II / Role of laterality in agonistic behaviour of red deer II

Jirsová, Adéla January 2016 (has links)
The theoretical part of this diploma thesis deals with the role of brain laterality of red deer (Cervus elaphus) in agonistic behaviour. Therefore, the largest part of the review of published scientific outcome is devoted to the agonistic behaviour, namely it focuses on the fights between males during the autumn rut. Battles are strictly ritualized and males adhere to strict rules. The role of laterality in animals is being recently studied and the outcomes so far indicates that, particularly in agonistic interactions the laterality may play a significant role. Brain lateralization is simply a preference for one or the other hemisphere in certain activities. The main topic of this thesis is how laterality affects combat of red deer. The research part took place in a deer-park Zátoň where the duels between stags in rut were recorded. We also used videos from farms Podlesko and Žalany and a deer-park Milešov. These records were processed in the program Noldus Observes, with emphasis placed on the facts which deer was the initiator of the fight and his position to opponent, or with which eye the opponent was perceived at the beginning, but also during the fight. Data were statistically evaluated in SAS software (version 9.4., SAS Institute Inc.). We observed a strong tendency that the winner also initiates the interaction. Chance, that the winner will be the initiator, was compared to recipient 15 times higher. Initiator estimates his option in the battle to win, so he does not let the duel quit before it comes to physical confrontation. Regardless of the character of the behaviour initiator approached his rival more likely on right eye. There was statistically significant demonstrated initiator access to the recipient from the right side in parallel walk as well as in direct physical engagement. As stags train fights during the whole year, so even in the rut are information processed by the left hemisphere, which controls the routine affairs. We can say, that the deer fights during the rut are so frequent, when applies the routine of using antlers as a weapons and therefore we observe right side preference.

Rozvoj grafomotoriky a psaní u leváků / Development of Graphic-motor and Writing Skills of Left-handed Pupils

VOSLÁŘOVÁ, Petra January 2008 (has links)
In our thesis we deal with the development of writing skills of left-handed children and with dificulties which are caused by uncorrect methodological help. Our thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretic one we outline problems of the occurrance of the left-handness with regard to the brain asymmetry and changes of the laterality during person{\crq}s development. We focus on the way how to recognize wether the child is the left-hander or the right-hander and on the correct methodological help with writing of left-handed children. The other part of our thesis is practical part. In this part we make the concept of the copy-book for left-handed children, it means the copy-book with the neutral slope of letters. This neutral slope is more natural for left-handers. The thesis is documented with supplementory material.

Srovnání stereognozie a palestezie preferované a nepreferované horní končetiny u studentů fyzioterapie / The comparison of stereognosis and pallesthesia of the preferred and non-preferred upper extremity in students of physiotherapy

Boráňová, Martina January 2013 (has links)
Title: The comparison of stereognosis and pallesthesia of the preferred and non-preferred upper extremity in students of physiotherapy Objectives: To the objectives of the work belong the processing and compilation of information concerning laterality and sensation in the region of the upper extremities, then to evaluate the preference of the upper extremity by means of elected tests in 30 students of physiotherapy and to evaluate, whether the sensitivity of stereognosis and pallesthesia is higher in the region of the non- preferred upper extremity than in the region of the preferred upper extremity or whether the sensitivity of stereognosis and pallesthesia both of the upper extremities do not differ. Methods: The tasks of the work were dealt with four tests directed to the examination of preference, stereognosis and pallesthesia in the region of upper extremities. The statistic analysis of the results of the examination was carried out by means of paired t-test. Results: In the examination of pallesthesia in the region of processus styloideus radii and in the examination of stereognosis the null-hypothesis, that the sensitivity of pallesthesia / stereognosis examined by selected test in the region of preferred and non-preferred upper extremity in students of physiotherapy does not differ, was at...

Analýza vlivů působících na chování dojnic před porodem

Krejčí, Hana January 2019 (has links)
The aim of this diploma thesis was the analysis of influences on the behavior of dairy cows before calving. The observation of dairy cows took place periodically once a month from October 2017 to September 2018. In particular, the temperature of the air, the order of lactation and the number of days after insemination were monitored during the observation. As the results show, especially at higher temperatures a higher proportion of standing cows was recorded compared to the proportion of lying cows. For the lying cows in particular, there were no significant differences in laterality. The highest concentration of dairy cows was found in those parts of the stable, which were adjecent to the trough (quadrants 1 a 4). There was no significant effect of advancing pregnancy on any of the monitored activities, nor was there a significant difference in laterality when lying. With increasing number of days after insemination, quadrants 1 and 4 were always the most sought after. Also with increasing number of lactations there was no significant difference in most of the monitored activities. The preference of lying on the left side was observed only on cows in the 1st and 2nd lactation. With the increase in lactations, the preference was always on quadrants 1 and 4.

Úroveň přesnosti hodu na vertikální cíl v závislosti na kombinaci zkřížené a souhlasné laterality ruka oko u vybrané populace studentů FTVS. / Accuracy in throwing on the vertical target depending on combination of crossed and identical hand - eye laterality in selected population of FTVS students

Studnař, Lukáš January 2014 (has links)
Title: Accuracy in throwing on the vertical target depending on combination of crossed and identical hand - eye laterality in selected population of FTVS students. Objectives: The aim of this study is determination of any disparity in success rate and darts distribution among selected strongly right-handed and left- handed population of male and female students of FTVS in throwing on the vertically positioned target. Methods: The main research method was used descriptive association method. A total of 60 individuals were enrolled in the study. We used Musalek's test battery (2013) containing questionnaire part, preferential tasks and proficiency tests to define particular sidedness of individual probands. Further a specific task of the throw at the target was employed. For data analysis we used descriptive statistics methods, chi-squared test goodness of fit, analysis of variance, tetrachoric correlation and level of substantive significance expressed by Cohen's d. Results: The results indicated that left-handed individuals did not show a significantly better accuracy in throwing at the vertically positioned target compared with right-handed individuals. It seems that gender is an important factor that affects the level of accuracy in the throws on target because male showed significantly better...

Motorická výkonnost žáků s poruchou pozornosti spojenou s hyperaktivitou na 1. stupni základní školy / Motor performance of pupils with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).

Otipková, Zuzana January 2012 (has links)
Title: Motor performance of pupils with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Objectives: The aim of the work was to determine the level of fine and gross motor skills of upper extremities of the pupils with diagnosis ADHD at schools specialized on these pupils and compare it with the fine and gross motor skills of upper extremities of children without this diagnosis at common elementary school. Further work objective was to determine the level of gross motor skills of lower limbs and laterality of paired organs (hand - foot) within above mentioned groups of pupils. Methods: To determine the level of fine and gross motor skills of upper extremities, gross motor skills of lower limbs, laterality of the upper and lower extremities of the pupils with and without ADHD aged 9-11 years we used these types of tests: "Spiral", "Dotting test", "Beads" (the level of fine motor skills of the upper extremities); "Pack", "Small plate tapping", "Big plate tapping" (the level of gross motor skills of upper extremities); "Tapping the leg" (the level of gross motor skills of the lower limbs); "Typing out the Rhythm" (the laterality of the lower limbs); "Bell" and "Matches" (the laterality of the upper extremities). Results: The fine motor level of dominant hand was in the case of ADHD diagnosed pupils...

Mateřská investice a reprodukční strategie u domácích koní / Maternal investment and reproductive strategy in domestic horses

Komárková, Martina January 2013 (has links)
The aim of my doctoral thesis is the detailed study of the behavioural and sociobiological principles associated with the period of lactation. Suckling data covering almost 80 foals of domestic horse (Equus caballus) was obtained within four years of observation in the National Stud in Kladruby nad Labem, Czech Republic. The data were evaluated together with the reproductive history of the mothers, their agonistic interactions and following analysis of the dominance position of subadult foals. The first study describes longer suckling (greater maternal care) in dominant mares compared to submissive ones. Dominant mares are also less disturbed during nursing, whereas they terminated the nursing of submissive mares more often. A possible competitive advantage for the offspring of dominant mares may arise from such behaviour. The second paper enlightens the reproductive strategy of mares facing double maternal investment; suckling of the foal and pregnancy at the same time. I found out, contrary to the expectations, that the pregnant mares neither suckled their foals less nor terminated more suckling compared to non-pregnant herdmates. They may try to compensate their suckling foal with the perspective of its early weaning due to ongoing pregnancy. In the third and fourth manuscript I studied, how...

Problematika výuky psaní levorukých žáků / The Problems in Writing of Left-handed Pupils

HERWIGOVÁ, Kateřina January 2015 (has links)
The thesis "The Problems in Writing of Left-handed Pupils" is focused on the dificulties in the first steps of writing of left-handed children in primary schools. The thesis is divided into two parts. In the theoretic part we deal with the laterality and the left-handness in general. Further we deal with the development of left-handness in the history and nowadays and first of all with the development of motor skills of the left-handed children in the preschool age. The next aim is to chart the difficulties in the preschool period and the potencional problems in writing. The main part of our thesis is focused on the correct methodological help with writing in the first class in primary schools. The other part of our thesis is practical part. In this part we focus on the analysis of the writing edacation for the left-handed pupils in the first classes in the schools in Central Bohemian Region. We studied the quantity of the left-handed boys and the left-handed girls, the correct holding of writing tools, the slope of paper, the slope of letters, the correct sitting, the using of ergonomic tools and the using of pens or pencils.
