The league of Arab States and the promotion and protection of human rights

Al-Ajaji, Mohammed S. M. January 1990 (has links)
This thesis is an analytical study of the League of Arab States regional human rights system. It involves an examination of the League's concept of human rights as represented in the League's two draft instruments - the draft Arab Declaration of Human Rights and the draft Arab Convention on Human Rights - as well as its machinery of implementation as represented in the Permanent Arab Commission on Human Rights. Our analysis of the League's human rights is conducted in the light of the political, cultural and ideological factors prevailing in the Arab world. The League's failure to establish an effective regional human rights system is due largely to its inherent limitations and to the constant negative attitudes of Arab States toward human rights protection. Unless some drastic changes in these determinate factors take place, the situation is likely to remain the same in years to come. / Law, Peter A. Allard School of / Graduate

Determinants of Professional Soccer Team Values: Analyzing the International Effects on the Value of Professional Soccer Teams

Attamimi, Muhammad Fadri 01 January 2017 (has links)
In 2014, Professor Scelles and his colleagues ran a test regarding the determinants of professional soccer team values. This thesis will follow a similar model and estimate the determinants of firm values in professional soccer teams from 2007-2016. It will include Asian ownership, percentage of foreign players and Asian sponsorship as new variables. This paper will also test the determinants on market cap and enterprise value in addition to Forbes’ valuation. The results of this study shows that the new variables have a significant impact depending on the valuation that is being tested on.

Sacha, Ivan January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the attack phase of the game in football. Specifically, it deals with complex analysis of successful attacks (ending with a goal) - covering everything from attack inception till the goal. We have observed attacks in three foreign national competitions and compared them with Czech first league. The work deals with both technical and tactical aspects of the offensive game systems. The theoretical part is focused on identification and explanation of the basic concepts of the game and its national and international organization - based on the current expert sources. In particular, it focuses on different elements of the game that are most important for the attack phase. The research part deals with attack game systems and its specifics in practice. Based on video recordings, we have analyzed matches from Czech, Spanish, German and English top leagues. The thesis than compares the efficacy and frequency of use of individual offensive game systems. It also focuses on situations that most immediately precede the establishment of individual successful attacks and evaluates gaming positions, which were the most often present in an attack establishment or termination and finally examines game activities used. The knowledge gained in this work should serve coaches, players and...
