Image reconstruction for view-limited x-ray CT in baggage scanning

Mandava, Sagar, Coccarelli, David, Greenberg, Joel A., Gehm, Michael E., Ashok, Amit, Bilgin, Ali 01 May 2017 (has links)
X-ray CT based baggage scanners are widely used in security applications. Recently, there has been increased interest in view-limited systems which can improve the scanning throughput while maintaining the threat detection performance. However as very few view angles are acquired in these systems, the image reconstruction problem is challenging. Standard reconstruction algorithms such as the filtered backprojection create strong artifacts when working with view-limited data. In this work, we study the performance of a variety of reconstruction algorithms for both single and multi-energy view-limited systems.

Zrušení a likvidace komanditní společnosti / Dissolution and liquidation of a limited partnership company

Kysela, Roman January 2016 (has links)
Working out of the topic dissolution and liquidation of the limited partnership company as my dissertation should allow the reader of this dissertation a complex view of this procedure, while my goal was also a direct an direct application of this dissertation in praxis. In the articles above I try to describe all necessary what should a prospective liquidator of the limited partnership company, or other person dealing with this matter, know, and how he should proceed in praxis and I also want to include all the recent changes of the private law, which in some cases appeared in some aspects of the procedure of dissolution and liquidation, and which have been in theory poorly covered by the literature of today. I split the dissertation into five main pieces. In part one I deal with dissolution of the company and I describe in details all causes, that cause a dissolution of the company, including the causes that lead to the liquidation. I devoted the second part to the liquidator. The liquidator is the most important person that enters the procedure of liquidation. In the scope of second part I describe his nomination, end of his function and the most important tasks entrusted to him. Over more I try to describe his status to other company's bodies and jurisdiction of such bodies in the liquidation....

Spatial Correlation Between Framework Geology And Shoreline Morphology In Grand Bay, Mississippi

Mullennex, Asa J 12 August 2016 (has links)
The Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (GBNERR) adjoins two costal embayments in the eastern Mississippi Sound, Grand Bay and Point Aux Chenes Bay, which encompass a late Pleistocene/ Holocene delta of the Pascagoula-Escatawpa fluvial system. Historical maps and aerial imagery indicate that the GBNERR shoreline has experienced long-term retreat at spatially variable rates. The research presented here investigates the relationship between the coastal geomorphological evolution of GBNERR and the underlying geological framework. Coastal morphology and stratigraphy were characterized by analyzing 85 km of chirp sonar sub-bottom seismic profiles and 45 sediment cores. Shoreline retreat rates were determined through geospatial regression analysis of 11 historical shorelines surveyed between 1850 and 2015. Results indicate that Pleistocene paleochannels in the underlying fluvial distributary ravinement surfaces are spatially correlated with shoreline segments that exhibit elevated retreat rates and should be accounted for in future models of local as well as regional coastal evolution.

2-limited broadcast domination on grid graphs

Slobodin, Aaron 29 July 2021 (has links)
Suppose there is a transmitter located at each vertex of a graph G. A k-limited broadcast on G is an assignment of the integers 0,1,...,k to the vertices of G. The integer assigned to the vertex x represents the strength of the broadcast from x, where strength 0 means the transmitter at x is not broadcasting. A broadcast of positive strength s from x is heard by all vertices at distance at most s from x. A k-limited broadcast is called dominating if every vertex assigned 0 is within distance d of a vertex whose transmitter is broadcasting with strength at least d. The k-limited broadcast domination number of G is the minimum possible value of the sum of the strengths of the broadcasts in a k-limited dominating broadcast of G. We establish upper and lower bounds for the 2-limited broadcast domination number of various grid graphs, in particular the Cartesian products of two paths, a path and a cycle, and two cycles. The upper bounds are derived by explicit broadcast constructions for these graphs. The lower bounds are obtained via linear programming duality by finding lower bounds for the fractional 2-limited multipacking number of these graphs. Finally, we present an algorithm to improve the lower bound for the 2-limited broadcast domination number of special sub-families of grids. We conclude this thesis with suggested open problems in broadcast domination and multipackings. / Graduate
