Sistema de ubicación para la mejora de la cobertura de estaciones base de trasmisión móvil de tecnología 4G

Miguel Edgard , Cañari Quispe 15 February 2019 (has links)

Caractérisation du long ARN non codant COSMOC dérégulé dans les troubles du spectre autistique : une approche transcriptomique sur cellules souches olfactives humaines / Characterization of the long non-coding RNA COSMOC in autism spectrum disorders : a transcriptomic approach on human olfactory stem cells

Rontani, Pauline 21 December 2018 (has links)
Autism is a heterogeneous neuro-developmental syndrome with a complex genetic etiology. In order to unveil the initial disturbances responsible for this brain maldevelopment, previous works in our team relied on cells representative of the early stages of ontogenesis: olfactory stem cells. The MOCOS gene, coding for molybdenum cofactor sulfurase, was found under-expressed in most of autistic patients of our cohort when compared with age- and gender-matched control adults without any neuropsychiatric disorders. We postulated that the meticulous dissection of the molecular mechanisms involved this deregulation would help to unveil pathogenic mechanisms underlying autism spectrum disorders (ASD). This led to the identification of COSMOC, a long non-coding RNA, generated from a divergent transcription in the promoter region of MOCOS, whose expression is decreased in 10 out of 11 autistic patients in our cohort. Using various molecular biological techniques (interference RNA, DNA microarray, qPCR...), we showed that COSMOC depletion induces: (1) an under-expression of MOCOS, (2) a destabilization of chromatin organization, suggesting a transcriptional regulatory function, and (3) an alteration of cellular lipid metabolism and redox homeostasis, two deregulated pathways in ASD. In addition, COSMOC regulates the expression of PTBP2 (polypirimidine track biding protein 2), a splicing factor that controls the expression of many synaptic proteins, including PSD95. In conclusion, the deregulation of COSMOC may explain some of the dysfunctions observed in ASDs.

The development, practice and education of kinlein associates

Carpenter, Patricia A. 11 August 1997 (has links)
This study documented the history of the development and practice of the kinlein associate. Consumer dissatisfaction with health care, nursing unrest, and increased demand for long-term care-givers were the antecedents for a paradigm shift to "caring with" persons based upon the theory of esca developed by M. Lucille Kinlein. Interested people wanted to learn how to offer care from this perspective, and informal classes were held in several locations across the nation. The study focused on identifying the teaching methods used by the founder, Miss Kinlein. The methodology was deemed important in an attempt to assure that future kinlein associate teachers reflect the original educational processes and style when Miss Kinlein is no longer teaching. Her methods were considered important for kinlein associate teachers to prepare kinlein associates for practice. To determine Miss Kinlein's teaching methodology, qualitative research was conducted by observing her teaching, face to face interviews with students and kinleiners interested in teaching, and material gathered from the founder, Institute of Esca/Practice of Kinlein, and the Detente Homer, Alaska. Modeling, coaching, and directed inquiry were the primary methods used by Miss Kinlein and Mrs. Raymond, kinleiner of reference at the Homer Detente, in teaching kinlein associates. It was important to ground their teaching in educational theory and the contemporary interest in constructivism philosophy. Principles were extracted from several articles regarding constructivist philosophy/theory and were aligned with principles from the theory of esca used by Miss Kinlein. The parallels between the theory of esca and constructivism were striking. The study concluded by recommending Miss Kinlein and her student teachers examine the constructivism philosophy relative to the kinlein philosophy and theory of esca. The result of this examination may open kinleiner interest to explore similar, new ideas and serve as a spark for an intellectual/philosophical interchange among professional kinleiners and educators. Specific recommendations were given regarding immediate attention to kinlein associate curriculum, videotaping Miss Kinlein teaching various levels of courses, and developing a course on assisting students in moving in esca in learning. / Graduation date: 1998

Double Helix

Stumpo, Jeffrey David 2011 May 1900 (has links)
Double Helix approaches the conjunction of visual poetry and long poetry from two distinct but related viewpoints. The first is a scholarly examination of the techniques used to make a long poem visual or a visual poem long. The second is a production of an original long visual poem exhibiting these techniques. The first part, "The Look of the Long Poem," posits that there are five major techniques which are used in long visual poems: line breaks, imagetexts, white space, page division, and collage and montage. These techniques are grounded in the theoretical work of, among others, Katherine O'Brien O'Keeffe, W.J.T Mitchell, Marjorie Perloff, and Johanna Drucker. The techniques are examined in detail as they play out in the work of Anne Carson, David Daniels, Christine Wertheim, Johanna Drucker, Langston Hughes, Ed Dorn, Lisa Jarnot, and Tom Phillips. The second part consists of an original sixty-four-page long poem / poetic sequence titled "diluvium." "diluvium" utilizes all the techniques analyzed in the previous part, attempting furthermore to educate the reader in the process of negotiating its parts as it is read – that is, to act as a poetics as well as a poem.

Mapping the past for the future : mapping the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of three villages at Tai Tseng, Yuen Long, as resources for sustainable development

Lui, Kin-pui, 呂鍵培 January 2014 (has links)
The New Territories of Hong Kong has faced the drastic change since the 20th century. As concluded by the Lockhart Report in 1899, the landscape and village setting in the New Territories were much the same in few hundred years before 1900. However, with the social and economic developments, the natural and cultural landscapes of the New Territories have been shaped and evolved obviously. Being one of the witnesses of these changes is because that my family live at Tai Tseng Wai of Wang Chau in Yuen Long, I have my personal attachment and memory to my home village. The precious tangible and intangible heritage is required to record before it will be gone by the threads of development. There is no comprehensive and systematic research on the heritage resources at Tai Tseng of Wang Chau. As Tai Tseng is far from Yuen Long, there is no published research or study in this area. Most of heritage resources, especially the intangible heritage has been neglected. Most of the reports which are prepared by the Government or consultants are related to the natural environment and historic fabrics for the requirement of planning application and the Environmental Impact Assessment Ordinance (EIAO) such as the construction of sewerage and sewage disposal facilities in Yuen Long. However, the concept of cultural landscape, cultural mapping and intangible heritage are ignored. This research is expected to serve as the documentation and inventory study of heritage resources of Tai Tseng. The natural and cultural heritage will be evaluated and the driven forces will be studied. It is also expected that this study will help us learning more about the current condition of heritage resources in the traditional villages in Hong Kong. As Tai Tseng is one of Hong Kong surviving living village in the New Territories, it is expected that the research results could be the reference and resources for the challenges and future developments. The research results will also provide the direction and insight for the heritage conservation policy in Hong Kong such as applying the concept of cultural landscape, assessment of intangible heritage and cultural mapping skills to the traditional village in the New Territories. The study area is Tai Tseng of Wang Chau where is located in the north of Yuen Long. Although there are about ten villages in Wang Chau, only three villages which are located in the north of Wang Chau, including Shing Uk Tsuen, Tai Tseng Wai and Ng Uk Tsuen as labeled in Fig. 1.1 will be studied. Tai Tseng is the collective name which includes Three Villages in the north of Wang Chau. Tai Tseng is selected because of my personal attachment and connections. As my family is rooted at Tai Tseng Wai, many interesting stories about their cultural practices and ritual customs can be shared with my professional views and theories which I have learnt from the Architectural Conservation Programme (ACP) in The University of Hong Kong. As I am one of the witnesses, its conditions and changes could be assessed. With my family connections, the oral interviews can be conducted with the indigenous villagers to understand their views to Tai Tseng. Their experienced stories can be shared in the research. Tai Tseng is a good example for the cultural landscape study. Although Tai Tseng is not the oldest village in Wang Chau (the oldest village is Sau Tau Wai), many tangible and intangible heritage resources are still well-preserved. This project also is the example to apply some new conservation concepts and methods such as the concept of cultural landscape and application of cultural mapping. This research is the pilot study to capture the indigenous villagers’ views on the heritage resources through the cultural mapping techniques. Their views to heritage resources will be analyzed and visualized by the form of cultural map. As the landscape and setting of Tai Tseng have been evolved in the 20th century, many precious traditional customs and ritual practices should be recorded before it would be gone. The temporal changes and the driven forces over the last century also provide the insight to us for studying the evolution in the natural and cultural landscapes. This site is a good example to study the development of cultural landscape in the New Territories of Hong Kong. / published_or_final_version / Conservation / Master / Master of Science in Conservation

Sonic Imagery in the Viola Arrangement of Hwang-Long Pan's Concerto for Violoncello and Chamber Orchestra (1996/97)

Yang, Shang Ju January 2013 (has links)
The Viola Concerto by Hwang-Long Pan (b. 1945) is a transcription of the composer's Cello Concerto (1996/1997) created at the request of the author in 2007 in order to enrich the concert repertory for solo viola, and to promote the music of one of China's most distinguished modern composers. In his musical compositions, Pan translates ideas from Chinese music, philosophy, literature and art into contemporary sound imagery. This composition technique is what he refers to as yīn xiăng yì jìng [音響意境] in Chinese, which literally means "Sonic Imagery." This document examines Pan's Cello Concerto (1996/1997), making use of the composer's sketches, interviews and other scholarship, to illustrate how the composer blends Western instrumentation and formal structure with elements of traditional Chinese music and philosophy. The analysis reveals how Pan uses modern European compositional techniques such as symmetrical pitch structure, arch forms, and avant-garde performance practices in the Concerto. The author also discusses performance techniques required of the solo violist and other orchestral instruments in order perform the style of Chinese heterophonic music evoked in the Concerto and to realize the ornaments and special performance effects that Pan borrows from traditional Chinese instruments, such as the lute-like pipa.
