Diploma thesis on Portrayal of Economic Growth Value is a content analysis of chosen czech daily papers. It is engaged in questions of economic growth (and gross domestic product) and its significance in daily papers Blesk, Hospodářské noviny, Mladá fronta Dnes and Právo. The aim is to discover value dimensions of economic growth portrayal. The study come out from those authors who has criticall approach to the problems of economic growth, mind its negative social and environmental effects, and dispute its desirability and legitimacy. Also there are presented findings from media studies, which are related to the role of media when the acceptable picture of world is beeing established. The critique of economic growth and the reflections of media role when the current social order is reproduced are connected in one question: what is the way in which the media participate on common acceptance of economic growth through portrayal of its value dimensions. Through application of content analysis method the study try to answer the question if economic growth is pictured in a positive or negative way and which picture is prevailing. La vie politique française est dépeinte depuis longtemps dans les médias par des humoristes. Songeons à Coluche bien évidemment, mais n’oublions pas Pierre Dac, le premier humoriste candidat à l’élection présidentielle (1965) dans une grande démocratie occidentale après 1950. Aujourd’hui, Ils s’appellent Nicolas Canteloup, Alex Vizorek, Guillaume Meurice, Charline Vanhoenacker, Nicole Ferroni, Ils sont des hommes et des femmes présents à l’antenne d’une radio en matinale ou en soirée et ils racontent à leur manière la vie politique en France, en riant des mandataires politiques. Cette thèse propose de rendre compte de leur discours en identifiant une typologie à quatre volets: le discours militant, le discours de dédramatisation, le discours obscène et le discours injurieux. Ancrée dans les approches théoriques du rire de supériorité, cette thèse livre un regard critique sur l'humour politique, moins innocent qu'on pourrait le croire. The diploma thesis Medium as a tool of internal communication in the ICT sector maps and analyzes the spectrum of media used in internal communication by companies that operate in the field of information and communication technologies. The thesis is divided into four main parts. The first part presents the theoretical literature review and provides the basis for subsequent analytical research. This section focuses on the description of internal communication as a field of inquiry and subsequently each communication channel and the media used in internal communication. The second part consists of a description of the methodology used for this study. The third part focuses on the presentation of data obtained from both qualitative (in-depth interviews) and quantitative research (statistical evaluation of the response of the electronic questionnaire) . The fourth part, discussion, is devoted to the analysis of the data obtained, comparing them with the theoretical part and at the same time, the author answers the research questions and sub-questions of this study.

This diploma thesis deals with the topic of social networks in a role of source for print and online media. Quantitative content analysis was conducted to prove whether Czech daily newspaper and their online non-subscription news platforms use social networks as a source of information for national news. In a whole ten media outlets were examined, five dailies with national coverage and five related online news platforms. Several highly exposed events in date range of August 2010 - June 2012 were identified and their media coverage was analysed in selected media during the research.

One of the main goals of this Master's Thesis was to characterize the process of media planning and its organization, to determine the factors influencing this process and get to know the specifics of print media planning. Diffrent sources of information were used to study the process -- available literature, available analysis of the media market in the Czech Republic and also practical experience of media planners. Another important goal was to propose a media plan Spring 2004 for the Open University Czech Republic o.p.s. The analysis shows that media planning is very complex process involving many individual steps. The starting point is a deep analysis of the company and product. The next important step is then a selection of appropriate media strategy and creation of the the most effective media mix. During the print media planning must be taken into account factors such as the creativity of advertising, its format, campaign timing and the content of communication. In the practical part the Open University media plan for print and electronic media was designed. The media type has been chosen according to the target group of the potential students. The plan is based on the real situation of the company and therefore, together with other proposals for changes of the corporate communication, in the next period feasible.

This thesis examines how traditional media could reinforce its position as a reliable source of information, overcoming the huge amount of misinformation in public space. First, the thesis analyzes the concept of fake news, examining different concepts of this expression across American and Anglo-Saxon environments. In the following chapters, the thesis presents a link between trust in media and the spread of fake news, outlines psychological factors that allow for fake news to be spread easily and highlights the role of media literacy. Next chapters list the specific ways in which traditional media can fight against fake news, for example through slow journalism or factual verification. That is how the thesis gets to the three analyzed fact-checking departments, which were established as a part of foreign traditional media: ARD Faktenfinder, BBC Reality Check and RFE / RL / VOA Polygraph.info. These departments were founded between 2015 and 2017 and perceive verification of information as an independent journalistic output. Using semi-structured interviews, the thesis examines how these departments work, how they define fake news, what are their future plans or whether they actively contribute to the development of media literacy. Nos últimos trinta anos, tem-se assistido, no panorama nacional, a um crescente interesse no domínio da investigação da casa corrente dos finais da Idade Media. Se o conjunto de estudos e dissertações produzidos tem tido como intuito principal a análise de instituições eclesiásticas ou, mais frequentemente, o estudo das vilas e cidades medievais, o assunto da habitação corrente tem aí também marcado a sua presença. Por outro lado, os vestígios substanciais que da casa corrente se encontram em cada virar da esquina das cidades, e a sua multiplicação por todos os centros urbanos, tem despertado uma maior consciencialização por parte das nossas entidades, quanta à importância deste "património menor". O trabalho que propomos neste estudo enquadra-se, naturalmente, nestes dois contextos. Pretendeu-se, em primeira instancia, uma análise e reconstituição da casa corrente na Guimarães dos finais da Idade Media, assim como despoletar o interesse pela importância dos seus vestígios no centro histórico da mesma cidade. Percorrendo um conjunto de fontes diversas desde o levantamento de instituições vimaranenses ate à leitura das doações e testamentos da Colegiada da mesma vila, tentou reunir-se um conjunto de informes possíveis com vista a um maior conhecimento da casa comum. Através deles podemos olhar a parcela onde se inscreveu, descobrir os espaços não edificados que englobou, visualizarmos o seu exterior, penetramos por "breves instantes" o espaço privado e descobrirmos os diferentes modos como a casa perfeita se apoderou, à semelhança de tantos outros cenários, do espaço vimaranense.

Nombreuses sont les recherches menées sur la représentation des minorités dans les médias québécois. La plupart s'accordent sur le fait que celles-ci sont sous-représentées par ces médias et que l'image que l'on en projette est bien souvent stéréotypée voire négative. Cette représentation des immigrants ou encore des communautés culturelles dans les médias québécois ne pouvait demeurer sans conséquence sur des récepteurs qui ont la capacité d'être actifs. Dès lors, les chercheurs ont pu constater que les minorités visibles désertaient les médias francophones pour rejoindre les médias anglophones plus enclins à les représenter. Un constat qui nous a amenée à nous questionner sur la consommation des médias par les populations venues d'Algérie, du Maroc, et de la Tunisie. Majoritairement francophones, les Maghrébins ont désormais les moyens de recevoir les médias de leur pays d'origine grâce à une antenne satellite ou à Internet. Cette situation nous a amenée à avancer l'hypothèse que les Maghrébins délaissaient les médias québécois au profit des médias non pas anglophones mais arabophones. Ces derniers sont diffusés à travers le monde, grâce à la mondialisation des échanges ainsi qu'à l'essor des nouvelles technologies, et ont une triple vocation. Tout d'abord, celle de véhiculer des images ainsi que des valeurs reposant, pour l'essentiel, sur l'Islam et la langue arabe. Puis, particulièrement pour les pays du Maghreb de rejoindre leurs ressortissants vivant à l'étranger. Enfin, en ce qui a trait aux pays du Golfe, de faire des télévisions arabes -au même titre que l'or noir -un moyen lucratif ainsi qu'un enjeu de pouvoir. Si l'appropriation des paraboles par les immigrants maghrébins et turcs, respectivement, de France et d'Allemagne, a soulevé de vives polémiques, leur apparition au Québec est passée inaperçue. Dès lors, nous nous sommes questionnée sur la place de ces médias auprès des immigrants maghrébins installés à Montréal. Plus précisément, nous avons tenu à dépasser la question du risque de cloisonnement culturel que pouvait générer ces médias arabes auprès des populations immigrantes et nous intéresser, plus précisément, à la question des transformations cultureIles et identitaires. Cette attention à la culture dans le processus de décodage des produits médiatiques est un point majeur des Cultural Studies, de l'anthropologie, et de la théorie de la réception active. En partant de ces théories et de ces approches, notre recherche vise à appréhender la manière dont le mode de consommation des médias de la culture d'origine par les immigrants nord-africains à Montréal contribue au développement d'une nouvelle forme de citoyenneté, ou encore à l'éclosion d'une identité nouvelle, ancrée dans une culture hybride faite d'apports endogènes et exogènes. En nous inspirant de l'approche ethnographique, nous avons réalisé des entrevues auprès d'immigrants maghrébins vivant à Montréal. Ainsi, nous avons analysé de façon thématique les discours de nos répondants. Cette analyse nous a permis de mettre en perspective divers éléments proéminents relatifs à la relation entretenue par les immigrants maghrébins avec le pays d'origine ainsi que la société d'accueil. De plus, afin de compléter notre recherche, nous avons élaboré un questionnaire qui nous a permis de mettre en lumière, à travers des résultats chiffrés, la place des médias -francophones, arabophones, et anglophones -dans les foyers d'immigrants maghrébins à Montréal. Nous avons ainsi pu préciser la langue de consommation des médias, le nombre d'individus possédant une parabole, les raisons qui poussent à son acquisition, les causes de son éventuel rejet, ou encore les programmes les plus suivis. My diploma thesis deals with the relation of youth to various kinds of media in their free time. First it describes media, their function, possible impact on personality, media literacy. It deals with division of media, more concerned with the mass media, electronic and print. It also characterizes free time and the period of youth aged 15 30 years. The study of literature led to questions for quantitative research, young people and library staff were interviewed. Selected youth use electronic media more in their free time, but often they are not satisfied with it, they would prefer to read more books.

This design reached its apex in the Middle Ages, especially during the thirteenth and fourteenth centuries, when the Catholic Church severally controlled the social and religious life of Christians - especially women - backed by the religious tenets trough the Inquisition. That mentality misogynist supporters and gained strength and continued by subsequent centuries, being in the residual pulp fiction and contemporary perceptible through the experience, vocabulary and expressions used by cordelistas to describe and portray women. The popular character of literary discourse also denotes a relationship of power veiled in which the woman is labeled as inferior and sinful. Crystallized over the centuries, this thought came to the events taking place in contemporary literature. The Brazil´s northeast is largely patriarchal and sexist in its cultural roots, which are observed in the production of popular literature in verse, when the cordelistas construct their narratives from the social, cultural and religious, which back, usually at the thought of the Middle Ages. The aim of this work was to identify, from the reading and analysis of cordage, misogynist morality and the construction of the female characters such as waste mentality inherited from the Middle Ages, found in popular narratives. Therefore, the Teoria da Residualidade, and its related concepts, namely: Residual, Cristalização, Mentalidade and Hibridação Cultural is the basis of this analysis. After analyzing the cordéis, it was clear that the terms and expressions, as well as religious morality, referring to the feminine reinforce and confirm the thinking of medieval clerics that the origin of evil lies with the woman, in essence. In this context, the line appears as an instrument for maintaining social order and the preservation of morals and morality, according to the Christian mentality. / A ideia da inferiorização da mulher tem sido disseminada nas civilizações orientais e ocidentais. Tal concepção atingiu o seu ápice na Idade Média, sobretudo, durante os séculos XIII e XIV, quando a Igreja Católica controlava com severidade a vida social e religiosa dos cristãos – em especial da mulher – respaldada nos dogmas religiosos através da Inquisição. Essa mentalidade misógina ganhou força e adeptos e perdurou pelos séculos subsequentes, sendo residual na literatura de cordel contemporânea e perceptível através da vivência, do vocabulário e das expressões usadas pelos cordelistas para descrever e retratar a mulher. O discurso literário de caráter popular também denota uma relação de poder velada, na qual a mulher é rotulada de inferior e de pecadora. Cristalizado ao longo dos séculos, este pensamento chegou à contemporaneidade ocorrendo nas manifestações literárias. Como a sociedade nordestina é, em grande parte, patriarcal e machista em suas raízes culturais, os quais são refletidos e percebidos na produção da literatura popular em verso, quando os cordelistas constroem suas narrativas a partir de elementos sociais, culturais e religiosos, os quais remontam, geralmente, ao pensamento da Idade Média. Pretende-se com este trabalho identificar, a partir da leitura e da análise de cordéis, a moral misógina e a construção das personagens femininas como resíduos dessa mentalidade herdada do medievo, presentes nas narrativas populares. Para tanto, a Teoria da Residualidade, bem como os seus conceitos correlatos, a saber: Residualidade, Cristalização, Mentalidade e Hibridismo Cultural, é a base condutora dessas análises. Após a análise dos cordéis, ficou claro que os termos e as expressões, bem como a moral religiosa, referentes ao universo feminino reforçam e confirmam o pensamento dos clérigos medievais de que a origem do mal está na mulher, na sua essência. Nesse contexto, o cordel configura-se como um instrumento de manutenção da ordem social e da preservação da moral e dos bons costumes, segundo a mentalidade cristã.
