The aim of the thesis is to identify and evaluate the unemployment situation in the Czech Republic. Which factors affect the problems of unemployment and what groups of people in the Czech Republic are the riskiest. I also focused on the activities of the employment offices in the Czech Republic and methods and measures for solving the problem of unemployment specifically. What tools and what methods are used to help job seekers find suitable jobs in the shortest possible timeframe. In the last part of the thesis I focused on the active employment policy instruments to assess which tools are used the most frequently by the employment office and why. The first part of the thesis deals with the problems of unemployment. This is a very variable quantity that depends not only on the economy state of the country, other factors are involved in it as well. One of these significant factors includes the mobility, which means the reluctance to commute. Mobility unfortunately does not only reflect the unwillingness of people to commute, it can be also affected by other factors, among which we can include poor transport infrastructure, transport lines cancelling and never- ending increase of fuel prices. In this thesis we study models, which search for an optimal portfolio from a set of stocks. On the contrary to the classical approach focusing only on expected return and variance, we examine models where an additional crite- rion of skewness is included. Furthermore we formulate a model for measuring performance of a portfolio defined as the distance from the Pareto efficient frontier. In numerical experiments we apply the models on historical prices and stock data from the electronic stock market NASDAQ. We analyze the stock data from companies listed in the index NASDAQ-100. We conclude by comparing of optimal portfolios created using different models among each other, with trivial single-stock portfolios and the with NASDAQ-100 index itself.

Abstract The goal of this diploma thesis is to explore the potential of Czech paintings as an alternative investment asset. Using hedonic model, I estimate the main sale price determinants such as painting technique, size, author, auction hall and the rate of return. Observed rate of return is than compared to global rate of return of art on one hand and to common investment tools such as gold and the Stock Exchange on the other. At the same time I examine the impact of GDP growth and inflation. I find a positive effect of GDP growth on the art market. After taking these questions into consideration I found, that even though art is associated with relatively low rate of return, it is eligible investment tool. Since it is unrelated to joint stock, it can serve as a convenient instrument of portfolio diversification. At the same time, Czech paintings may also serve as a very good store of value.

The submitted diploma thesis is dedicated to the calculation of the estimation of output gap by three estimating techniques (Hodrick-Prescott filter, Kalman filtering, and Cobb-Douglas production function) for the Czech Republic during the years 1995-2009, and, consequently, to their usefulness for testing the Okun's law as a suitable predicative tool. In other words, which of the mentioned methods is the most appropriate one for an accurate prediction of the rate of unemployment. To achieve this, the Box-Jenkins methodology is used for modelling and designing the cyclical unemployment forecasts and dynamic version of the Okun's law. The results indicate that, for the given period, there is relatively strong and unstable relationship between changes in output gap and changes in cyclical unemployment in the Czech Republic. The most suitable technique for the estimating of the future development of unemployment gap seems to be the Cobb-Douglas production function approach. This is namely based on the quantity of gained forecast errors and Granger causality.

The main intention of this thesis is to provide theoretical and practical insight on commodity markets, specifically on gold and silver markets. The introductory section defines the basic characteristics and relationships between commodity and financial markets.The second section describes in detail the fundamentals of commodity markets. From a view on history, definition and distribution of basic commodities, it specifies the largest operators organizing trade with commodities. The last sub chapter of the second section is a description of the most popular ways of investing in commodities. In the third section, the content of the work reaches its core -- an analysis of the gold market. The first chapter of this section gives a picture of the general determinants of demand, supply and price of gold. The following analytical chapter discusses these essential characteristics from a dynamic perspective -- the development over time. Based on the dependencies and calculations, the work analyzes the rate of return and risk of gold and compares them with alternative investments. Final passage of the third section brings the specific investment opportunities in gold. In particular, for their inclusion in the core group of precious metals, as in the case of gold, the fourth section is devoted to the definition a marginal nature of the silver market.

This thesis compares satisfaction of creditors with different ways of resolving debtors' bankruptcy. It describes different ways of resolving bankruptcy and uses specific data to analyse and compare level of creditor's satisfaction with the way bankruptcy was resolved. The thesis consists of two parts - theoretical and practical. Theoretical part describes historical development of bankruptcy law, defines basic terms, procedural subjects of insolvency proceedings, and outlines particular ways of solving bankruptcy. Practical part of the thesis describes a chosen company, analyses and compares bankruptcy data of debtors and provides recommendation for creditor based on results.

Práce obsahuje základní informace o společnosti, finanční a strategickou analýzu, ze které vychází prognóza generátorů hodnoty a finanční plán. Cílem práce je výnosové ocenění společnosti prostřednictvím metody diskontovaných peněžních toků.

Diplomová práce se nejprve zabývá popisem rakouské teorie hospodářského cyklu. Věnuje se teorii kapitálu, úloze úrokové míry a následně vysvětluje mechanismus hospodářského cyklu v pojetí rakouské teorie. Dále zahrnuje pohled na bankovní systém, jenž tvoří nedílnou součást teorie. V poslední, rozsáhlejší části, se práce detailně věnuje penězům a snaží se do jisté míry integrovat alternativní přístup k penězům do stávající podoby rakouské teorie hospodářského cyklu.

Cílem této práce bylo popsat a zdůvodnit hlavní trendy sňatkového chování v České republice po roce 1989. První a druhá kapitola je teoretickým vstupem do problému - zákon o rodině, ukazatele, kterými je možno postihnout vývoj v oblasti sňatkového chování, demografický přechod, literatura k tématu a vývoj sňatečnosti ve 20. století. Třetí kapitola se již zabývá samotnou analýzou sňatkového chování v ČR od počátku devadesátých let do současnosti. Čtvrtá část práce je zaměřena na sledování meziregionálních rozdílů a nalezení určitých souvislostí územního rozložení sňatečnosti s dalšími ukazateli. Poslední část práce se věnuje aktuálnímu tématu registrovaného partnerství. Je zde rozebrán zákon č. 115/2006 Sb., o registrovaném partnerství a také úpravy, které bylo, v souvislosti s novým zákonem, nutno provést v zákonech jiných.
