Využití Konverzačních map v edukaci diabetika / Leveraging conversational map in terms of diabetes educationTESAŘOVÁ, Martina January 2019 (has links)
The purpose of the thesis is to describe usage of Conversational maps in educational process with diabetic patients. Furthermore, the thesis compares standard education and usage of Conversational maps in education in terms of effect in cognitive, psychomotor and effective area. Theoretical part of the thesis describes diabetes mellitus and its distinction. World epidemiologic data and statistics in Czech Republic are described. Education and education using Conversational maps is outlined. Communication between nurse and diabetic patient is another topic the thesis focuses on as well as on theory of taking care of diabetic patients and education of the nurses in this field of medicine. For research qualitative approach was used. Data were collected by interview with nurses and patients. Action research was used to implement group and individual education for patients with diabetes mellitus. Information from the interview were collected on piece of paper with "paper - pencil" method. Transcribed texts were subdued to segmentation, coding and categorization. Categories were made based on similitude of relationships between codes. First group of respondents included five patients and five nurses, both from a diabetic consulting room. Second group of respondents consisted of five nurses from a diabetic consulting room. Action research was used for education of the nurses. Education was provided to groups or individuals, for patients from diabetic clinic and for those who shown interest in it. Concrete aims were taken in consideration of every education plan. The research took place from December 2018 to March 2019. The aim of the thesis is to introduce the problematic of education using Conversational maps and to distinguish between this method and regular methods that are usually used. Health care workers meet diabetic patients every day. Therefore, we wish to make the education more efficient moreover to compere effect in cognitive, psychomotor and effective area. Based on implemented research it can be said that most patients find the usage of Conversational maps in education helpful, understandable and easy to remember. Me as an author of this thesis and interviewed nurses share the same opinion. Most patients in our research were educated in the problematic of diabetes mellitus. Having said that, they still expressed interest in Conversational maps to deepen their knowledge. It would be beneficial to get better access to Conversational maps to provide better education. To make progress in this area we made educational plans which consist of steps and action research that can be used in education. Distinct differences in this area would be made with higher number of educational nurses which would be using this method. The results of this thesis can be used for education´s improvement.

Aplikace inzulínu v ošetřovatelské praxi / The application of insulin in nursing practice.PIVOŇKOVÁ, Lenka January 2017 (has links)
Abstract The diploma thesis is focused on the application of insulin in nursing practice. In 2013, there were 678,935 patients with diabetes mellitus in the Czech Republic. Of this, 17.5 % of patients were treated with insulin. When applying insulin, we must observe certain principles and procedures to avoid complications. The diploma thesis consists of the theoretical and research part. The theoretical part describes the characteristics of diabetes mellitus, describes insulin and its history, regimens, types and storage of insulin. It is also focused on the insulin application process and the education of patients. In relation to the topic, two objectives were set. The first objective was to find out how to apply insulin in nursing practice based on evidence. The second objective was to find out how the nursing process is provided by a nurse when applying insulin in nursing practice. Following these objectives, two research questions have been identified. First research question: How is insulin applied in nursing practice? The second research question: How is the nursing process filled with the insulin application? The practical part was elaborated using a qualitative research survey. The research was carried out using two variants of a semi-structured interview. The first variation of the interview was for insulin-like patients. The second variant was intended for general nurses from standard departments of selected hospitals and for nurses working in diabetological outpatient clinics. The first set consisted of ten respondents, of which 5 were women and 5 men. The second group consisted of 9 respondents, of whom all were women. The conversations were recorded and then literally overwritten. Interviews were overwritten using the pencil-paper method and further analyzed by Open Encoding. Based on data analysis, 5 categories were created with several subcategories for patients and 6 categories with several subcategories for nurses. Based on the analysis of the data, it can be said that patients or nurses do not apply insulin completely correctly. I perceive the basic problem in the distribution of insulin by species and its correct application, which varies for each species. I see another problem in incorrect application according to the length of the needle, such as the angle of the needle and the formation of the skin kelp. The output of the diploma thesis will be the standard of nursing care based on EBP, in order to highlight the shortcomings we found in the research investigation and to prevent their prevention. This standard aims to refine and improve the care provided.

Informovanost veřejnosti o diabetu mellitu / Public awereness about diabetes mellitusKNÍŽOVÁ, Kateřina January 2009 (has links)
Diabetes mellitus belongs to diseases frequently occurring in childhood and adulthood. Insufficient knowledge of this disease and an unsatisfactory compensation for diabetes leads to development of late complications that have a negative impact on one's, as well as the family's, life and create an economic problem for society as a whole. The thesis focuses on the main characteristics of the disease, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. Complications of the disease, including advice for patients themselves and their prevention are described in more detail. Social aspects (work inclusion of a diabetic, invalidity and reduced work capacity, driving of motor vehicles) are also emphasised. The research part containing 18 questions aims to find out to what extent the Czech public is informed about the problematic areas of this disease. It also assesses the feasibility of obtaining information from individuals of different ages and places of residence (city vs. village) regarding diabetes. These hypotheses were stated within the scope of the research: 1. Individuals older than 50 years of age are better informed about diabetes than individuals of a younger age. 1. Individuals living in a city have a better access to information concerning diabetes than individuals living in a village. The data was obtained from questionnaire research, in which respondents older than 18 years of age participated. The data collection took place in Bechyně Spa Ltd. 58 % of the resultant questionnaires were completed by women and 42 % by men.
