This diploma thesis examines the public political process for the implementation of local bilingual names while focusing on the enforcement of this law for citizens with Polish nationality in the Těšin Region. The main objective is to explain why this policy was or was not changed, what the reasons were for the non-conformity of the policy objectives with the results and to discover the actual failures in the implementation process, where as a consequence, in some villages the right of the minority to use local bilingual names was not fulfilled or was beset with problems in some villages. The subject of the investigation of both the legal and the institutional aspect of the problem focuses on the participating subjects, where one of the main roles of the committee for national minorities on the board of the municipal representatives was the requirement to implement local bilingual names. The guidelines for understanding the tools, procedures and relations used were the initial theoretical points related to the institutions and their changes, the implementation process (top-down and bottom-up approaches), initial theoretical points explaining the responsibilities of the participating subjects and not the intended consequences of their actions and those of others. The research design is a case study.

Traditional Chinese medicine is one of the oldest curative methods in the world. It is focused particularly on the support of a body to recover balance and harmony that have become impaired. Owing to the growing number of the Chinese and the Vietnamese minorities in the Czech Republic, the medical staff providing healthcare may meet members of these minorities for whom this medicine may be of a large importance both when being ill and when being healthy. The new conception of the Czech nursing is outlined to provide every individual, regardless of the race, with the care which is able to satisfy their bio-psycho-social-religious needs. The nursing staff must possess a basic knowledge of the traditional Chinese medicine so that they are able to satisfy the needs of these patients/clients better. The objective of this diploma work is to ascertain what health problems are treated by members of the Chinese and the Vietnamese minorities through the traditional Chinese medicine, and what curative methods are used most frequently by them. The empirical part was processed in the form of a qualitative research. The data collection technique was a semi-structured interview of selected informants of the Chinese and the Vietnamese nationalities living in the Czech Republic. Based on the interviews of individual minorities, case studies were established and used as the research base for elaboration of categorization tables and charts presenting the most important results of the research. The main results of the research include the ascertained heath problems which are treated by means of the Chinese medicine by members of both minorities, and the ascertainment what curative methods are used most frequently, and whether the members of both minorities wish to make use of the medicine also during hospitalization. Based on the results of the research, the information material was elaborated that may be of use for the nursing staff in healthcare facilities and for other specialized public as a brief summary of methods of the Chinese medicine and of their application by the members of the Chinese and the Vietnamese minorities.

Jak se (ne)dělá autonomie: činnost Hnutí autonomie Slezska na půdě polského parlamentu / (Not)Making Autonomy: Activities of Silesian Autonomy Movement on the Platform of the Polish ParliamentHamatová, Kateřina January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis focuses on activities of the Silesian Autonomy Movement (RAŚ) on the platform on the Polish Parliament, while using theoretical concepts advocacy coalition and agenda setting. In the first part of my thesis, I will define goals of RAŚ and identify three most important ones, which will create the core of my research: Silesian language statute, minority statute of Silesians and problem of Upper Silesian autonomy. Then, I will define political subsystems, which reflect the three already mentioned main topics. Within each political subsystem, I will define two competing advocacy coalitions. In the next chapter I will analyse respective political subsystems and discussions, which is taking place among competing advocacy coalitions. I will stress the importance on the process of policy agenda setting. As a parameter of success I will seek for the existence of legislative proposals, proposed by advocacy coalitions. Then, I will analyse processes within respective political subsystems since 2005. In the final part of my thesis, I will strive to answer my research questions and compare the results with my hypotheses. Thanks to my research, I will be able to better understand activities of RAŚ, and of advocacy coalitions respectively, on national level.

Vývoj reprezentace LGBT menšiny v počítačových příběhových RPG hrách a přijímání homosexuální tématiky hráči a herními vývojáři / Progress in the representation of the LGBT minority in RPG videogames and accepting of queer topics by gamers and game-developersMoravec, Ondřej January 2014 (has links)
Diploma thesis "Progress of representation of the LGBT minority in RPG-story-based PC games and accepting the homosexual themes by gamers and game developers" deals with new way of representation of LGBT minority via videogames. While traditional media as film or literature are able to narrate only by the linear way, with the development of RPG genre the new ergodic literature appeals. This style of narration has many ways which you can follow - and one of them is also the way of playing with LGBT character - the way which can be close for some other players. Work combines a few views on this problem - how does the language of videogames support such ideas? How game developers are interested in this matter? And what about the homosexual gamers - what do they want? This works also include the analysis of the video games, which changed the view on the representation of LGBT minority in videogames (Mass Effect I-III, Dragon Age I-II). The goal of this work is to offer the first compact text on this topic in Czech but even also in world context. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)
