Jak sociologicky zkoumat pitný režim? / How to research drinking regime sociologically?

Bartůšková, Monika January 2018 (has links)
The main topic of this diploma thesis is comparison of two different methods of research. The first method is diary and the second method is online community. The subject of research in which these methods are compared with each other is the drinking regime of university students, more precisely the situation in which different drinks are consumed by university students. A total of twenty university students were involved in the research that is of a qualitative nature, with ten students in one research method. For one week, the students recorded not only all the drinks they drank per week, but also the circumstances of consuming these beverages, such as time of consumption, place, reasons for consumption etc. The diploma thesis outlines the differences between these research methods in terms of research results, frequency and quantity of information obtained, preparation and implementation of the methods, analysis of acquired data, as well as the perception of these methods by the respondents themselves. The resulting data analysis presents the benefits and limits of each of the selected methods in the situational research of the drinking regime and also suggests possible implications for further research.

Druhý život Zdeňka Nejedlého v české historiografii a kultuře / The second life of Zdeněk Nejedlý in Czech historiography and culture

Nájemník, Václav January 2018 (has links)
Title: The second life of Zdeněk Nejedlý in Czech historiography and culture Author: Mgr. Václav Nájemník Supervisor: doc. PhDr. Ivana Čornejová, Csc. Department: The History and History Didactics Department Keywords: Zdeněk Nejedlý, second life, methodology, reception, historiography, culture, communism, totalitarianism, literature, art, Bedřich Smetana, Alois Jirásek Abstract: The following dissertation deals with the "second life" of Czech historian, musicologist, reviewer and politician Zdeněk Nejedlý (1878-1962). Its aim is not to elaborate a new biography, but to describe and analyse the influence of this personality on Czech historiography and culture during the communist totalitarian system. His influence is usually perceived as very strong, but seems to have changed over time, and moreover weakened. An important topic will also be the development of the attitude of historians, writers and other cultural personalities to the personality and work of Zdeněk Nejedlý in the context of Czech history in the second half of the twentieth century. The purpose of the work is to show that the personality of Zdeněk Nejedlý is not the only negative factor that worked for society, but that he himself participated actively in the creation of this image. Finally, it also appears that the "second life" of some of...

Vliv epilepsie na kvalitu života u žen / Epilepsy impact on quality of life in women

Prudnikova, Elizaveta January 2020 (has links)
This thesis looks into the concept of the quality of life in women with epilepsy from a qualitative perspective. Epilepsy, as is a chronic neurological disease, affects not only everyday activities after the diagnosis, but also has its impact on the women's life regarding employment or family. By adapting the narrative analysis this thesis categorizes the influential factors of this concept into primary and secondary ones. Moreover, it explores in detail the issue of obtaining a driving license, which is one of the specifics of the people with epilepsy in Czechia. Also, it defines the respondents' attitudes toward the societal perception of epilepsy and fears that accompany it. In addition to that, the matter of motherhood and pregnancy for women with epilepsy is explored as one of the influential factors of the quality of life. Lastly, this thesis argues that the qualitative approach is essential for the initial examination of the selected sample for future investigations regarding the concept of the quality of life in epilepsy.

Title: Strategy of postural stabilisation using unstable surface and water barrel. Objectives: The aim of this study is to investigate the level of muscle actiavtion of choosen muscles during lunge on unstable surface or with using water barrel. Investigation of the postural strategy used during lunge orn unstable surface or with the water barrel and creation of methodology for measurment and data analysis. Methods: Into this pilot study, there were picked 5 people (athletes). Data for outcomes where used from 3 athletes. The measurement of level of muscle activation were done by surface electromyography over gluteus medius muscle and musculi multifidii bilaterally. For data procession was used software Origin 2012 Postural stability was measured through force plates by Kistler and gained data were procesed by using software programmes Bioware, MS Excel and Matlab. For data analysis from EMG measurement was used simple comparasion of outcomes. Stabilometry outcomes were analysed by statistical methode t-test. Results: The results indicate greater level of muscle activation during lunge with aquabag than lunge on unstable surface for most of the measured muscles. The only exception, where level of muscle activity was higher, was multifidi muscle on rear leg. Another outcome proved that the postural...

Analýza biografických vyprávění pamětníků s užitím počítačové textové analýzy / Analysis of biographical narratives using computer-assisted text analysis

Čepelák, Václav January 2012 (has links)
Besides the social survey data, texts have been an important source of sociological data since the beginning of the development of sociological methodology. Text analysis methods contain two main branches of development: Bernard Berelson's content analysis and Hans-Georg Gadamer's hermeneutic analysis. Both these methodological branches have been influenced by the development of information technologies in the last twenty years. The thesis presented here deals with one of the methods of computer text analysis (CATA), which stands on the border between these two methodological streams, a method of analyzing words' collocations in texts. The thesis presents the method in the context of other methods of text analysis, and mentions sources of inspiration for further development of these methods - corpus linguistics and text mining. The second part discusses the different steps of words' collocation analysis: building a text corpus, dictionary compilation, calculation of data matrix and visualisation of words' distances using multidimensional scaling (MDS). The method is also applied to a specific data, two text corpora compiled from transcripts of biographical interviews with actors of Czechoslovak normalization - with dissidents and Communist functionaries. Quality of the models is assessed, depending...

La Frontière/Il Confine: Migration and the Border between Italy and France

Sundal, Kendra January 2014 (has links)
Bibliographic Note Sundal, Kendra. 2013. La Frontière/Il Confine: French and Italian Migration Discourse. 85 pages. Master's thesis. Charles University, Faculty of Social Sciences, Institute of Political Studies. Supervisor doc. PhDr. RNDr. Nikola Hynek, M.A., PgDipRes, PhD Abstract This work analyzes the historical background and discourse on migration in Italy and France, focusing on migration from and through former colonies in North Africa. Drawing on a feminist methodological approach, the work discusses how migrants may be perceived or treated differently based on gender, and how this impacts (or is impacted by) policies. In particular, one illustrative event, the closure of the Franco-Italian border in April 2011, is analyzed more deeply using the theory of domopolitics as introduced by William Walters. By tracing the history and the discourse about migration and integration from colonial times to the present, this event and other recent debates related to Mediterranean migration are contextualized. Key Terms: migration, France, Italy, borders, Arab Spring, domopolitics, feminist methodology, discourse analysis, historical representation

Strategie rozhodování u otázek na frekvenci chování / Response strategies of behavioral frequency questions

Tůmová, Markéta January 2014 (has links)
The thesis "Response strategies of behavioral frequency questions" deals with response strategies that respondents use to determine the frequency of behavior during the cognitive process of answering to the open-ended as well as closed behavioral frequency questions. The author uses a combination of research methods of cognitive interview with secondary analysis of quantitative data from the European Social Survey Research. The analytical part describes different types of response strategies used by respondents and deals with variety of factors that influence the choice of these strategies. The author analyzes the influence of the question format on the choice of the response strategy and on the answers to the same behavioral frequency questions. The thesis concludes that the choice of a particular response strategy is affected by the respondent's memory, the context within which the respondents have connected the behavior, regularity and absolute frequency of the behavior. The question format affects respondent's answers and it plays an important role during the cognitive process of answering behavioral frequency questions.

Simulace a návrh inteligentních agentů / Simulation and Design of Intelligent Agents

Šperka, Svatopluk Unknown Date (has links)
Conventional method of development which repeats phases of design, implementation and testing is not adequate for systems like intelligent agents for which complex behavior is required but specification is unclear at the beginning of development process. Incremental design of agent's model during simulation seems more suitable for it enables direct feedback in behavioral changes of a system. This interactivity speeds up development process and helps to uncover parts of a space of all models to designer - thanks to new knowledge acquired during simulation. This thesis aims to provide comparison of suitability of two agent architectures and respective platforms in context of SmallDEVS modeling and simulation framework for this methodology of development. First approach is reactive and decentralized subsumption architecture based on DEVS formalism and the second one is PNagent, framework realizing deliberative BDI architecture using Object Oriented Petri Nets.

EDILIZIA BASSOMEDIEVALE IN VAL CAVALLINA E NEL SEBINO BERGAMASCO: STUDIO CRONOTIPOLOGICO DEGLI ELEMENTI ARCHITETTONICI E DEI PARAMENTI MURARI

MATTEONI, FEDERICA BARBARA 08 March 2016 (has links)
This research is related to late medieval age religious, fortified and civil architecture preserved in Val Cavallina and on the western side of Iseo Lake, in the eastern province of Bergamo: this territory is privileged for the collection of data useful for the definition of the chrono-typological seriation of architectural elements and walls, dating from the twelfth and fifteenth centuries. Chrono-typological tablets exceed technical aspects, and reconstruct the social and political appearance of this territory in the late medieval age: the construction of castles and towers conditioned the new settlement of villages, setting new aggregation points. These new buildings are a reflection of aristocracy’s families, who builds as statement of economic and social power strength. The insight of the buildings made with the archeological method allowed the definition of building techniques, and the settlement dynamics in the eastern province of Bergamo. The historic building is crucial to understand the ways to live: the analysis of medieval buildings has allowed distinguishing specific typology of houses and the occupational way to set the territory in the late medieval age; every area has his architectural peculiarities.
