LA CERAMICA D'USO COMUNE ALTOMEDIEVALE (SEC. V-VIII) IN ITALIA SETTENTRIONALE: PRODUZIONI, CIRCOLAZIONE E CONSUMO ALLA LUCE DI ALCUNI CONTESTI LOMBARDI

SEDINI, ELIANA 12 April 2014 (has links)
The thesis means to evaluate production, trade and consumption of coarse ware in Northern Italy during the Early Middle Ages, through the analysis of several assemblages found in Lombardy deemed to be particularly representative. For the last decades the attention of scholars has been focusing on coarse ware: this is an engaging subject not only for those interested in material culture, but also for wider researches regarding socio-economic dynamics. Therefore, the first step has been the assessment of the state of research, taking into account the different approaches proper to each research field. This led us to retrace developments and improvements of the discipline, both from a methodological point of view and with regard to the ways specialists have been interpreting specific phenomena. The second part of the work is devoted to the analysis of the case studies, chosen in consideration of their high scientific value: Cornate d’Adda (MB), Castelseprio (VA), Bellinzona (CH), Milano, Pavia. For each one, the archaeological context has been thoroughly reviewed before studying the pottery assemblage, so that the social features of the consumption site could be adequately highlighted. Pottery has subsequently been analysed trying to retrace every step of the production process (use of raw materials, making and firing techniques, typology of finished objects), in order to recreate the reference productive context. In the light of the results achieved, the different levels of access to pottery consumption in connection with the social context have been studied and compared with other published case studies. Thanks to this research, several phenomena deemed to be typical of the Early Middle Ages, such as the appearance/resurfacing of hand- or slow-wheel-making techniques or the spreading of distinctive shapes (e.g. cooking bells or jugs) have been reassessed.

Primary school learners' understanding of human rights teaching-and-learning in classroom practice / S.R. Simmonds.

Simmonds, Shan Robyn January 2010 (has links)
The National Curriculum Statement (2002), in line with the South African Constitution (1996), views human rights, inclusivity and social justice as priorities in all learning areas of the curriculum. However, a document such as the Manifesto on Values, Education and Democracy (2001) illustrates the complexities of addressing this in practice. One of the reasons is that there are misconceptions about how the concept of 'human rights' should be interpreted in the educational realm. This study sets out to explore how primary school learners understand human rights teaching-and-learning (from a moral and value stance) and what factors influence this. The intention is to rethink and redefine human rights teaching-and-learning from a learner's perspective as well as to investigate the notion that regards human rights as 'misunderstood'. This research offers a new perspective on human rights in that it focuses on primary school learners. Therefore this study will provide another lens through which to consider human rights teaching-and-learning in classroom practice. A literature study and empirical research have been undertaken to investigate how learners understand human rights teaching-and-learning. The literature study explores ontological, epistemological and methodological perspectives of human rights teaching-and-learning. Qualitative observation, written narratives and focus-group interviews formed the bases of this empirical research. Ongoing triangulation is used to ensure that the research findings are valid and trustworthy. It seems that primary school learners do have an understanding of human rights teaching-and-learning, which is characterized by an emphasis on legal rights and the contextualisation of human rights within South African, value and educational contexts. Educational and societal factors are two of the factors that influence this understanding. It is clear that learners' understanding of human rights teaching-and-learning is not one-dimensional. However, there are certain ontological ambiguities in the views that learners hold of the significance of human rights teaching-and-learning -both within and beyond the curriculum. An indication of this is that learners' responses reveal that they are often uncertain about why they have to learn about human rights and the contexts and/or learning areas (other than Life Orientation) in which human rights teaching-and-learning should take place. Recommendations highlight the need to gain a better understanding of classroom practices so that teaching-and-learning can infuse a culture of human rights; to acknowledge that human rights teaching-and-learning should be more flexible; to use an implicit way of generating an understanding of human rights; to make human rights teaching and learning in classroom practice more authentic; and to consider 'a human rights beyond the curriculum approach'. This study also identifies areas in which further research should be done. / Thesis (M.Ed.)--North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus, 2010.

Vývoj slovenskej činohry v 20.-70.rokoch 20.storočia a jej dialóg s českým divadlom / The Development of Slovak drama theatre since 1920s till 1970s and its interaction with Czech theatre

Kyselová, Eva January 2015 (has links)
Following dissertation thesis study the influence of Czech theatre on developement of Slovak classic drama theatre during approximately from the twenties to seventies of 20th century. The purpose of the thesis is to identify the possible impact of Czech theatre on development of Slovak theatre culture in common state system regarding the similarity of both nations and cultures. The thesis are divided into two parts. First part defines chosen methodology. It presents the concept of literature comparatistics and its possibilites regarding application on theatrological research, it explains basic terms of comparatistics, the context of origin of Czech and Slovak nation regarding the idea of national theatre and it sets its own periodization In second part the comparative analysis is applied on particular historic source, it analyzes each period using examples from work of Slovak directors in particular historic-political context while comparing it to the state of Czech theatre. These chapters use tools of comparative analysis ? typological connections or genetic and contact relations of both theatre cultures. The main purpose of the thesis is to emphasize the fact, that despite the common historic and political context and significant language and cultural similarity, there are two individual theatre cultures developing since 1920 that are engaged in a continual creative but mostly varying dialogue.

Utváření oborové terminologie pro lidový oděv / Forming the Branch Nomenclature of Folf Costume

Dědovský, Daniel January 2015 (has links)
The folk costume, including its revitalized forms, is one of the most significant and simultaneously one of the most studied categories in the research of european folk culture. This research project is focused on reflections of the branch nomenclature of folk costume in the context of ethnological methodology with consideration of museological aspects and above all the history and development of the branch in its relevant european schools, streams and centers. The work is based on comparative communication of the author with less or more important characters in the branch (or closely connected) who were oriented on research of the folk costume cathegory or widely of the material culture, mostly through their professional texts. The contemporary researchers, whose work is not finished yet, are not evaluated in this work by intention, but their work and thoughts are reflected strongly as an important inspiration source of the presented dissertation. The primary goal of this project is not only observation and study the terminology and methodology for technical processing of the ethnological cathegory of folk costume, but also the research of the history of this branch underpinning its fundamental as well as less important aspects in the european international context.

Odhady časových řad pomocí modelů neuronových sítí / Time series annalyze by neural networks models

Jiráň, Robin January 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals about using models of neural networks like alternative of time series model based on Box-Jenkins methodology. The work is divided into two parts according to the model construction method. Each of the parts contains a theory that explains the individual processes and the progress of the model construction. This is followed by two experiments demonstrating the difference in approach to the design of a given model and creating a forecast by estimated values. for the following year. The last part expertly evaluates the quality of the predictions and considers the use of neural networks against prediction models as an alternative to Box-Jenkins methodology based models

Neviditeľná ruka trhu: Adam Smith a G. W. F. Hegel / The invisible hand of market: Adam Smith and G. W. F. Hegel

Krištofóry, Tomáš January 2009 (has links)
Hayek's interpretation of Smith's invisible hand as a metaphor for the theory of spontaneous order still holds as the only authentic interpretation of that famous phrase, despite all criticism. Although not many authors noticed it, Hegel was a theorist of spontaneous order, namely also a theorist of the spontaneous order of market economy. There is evidence that Hegel followed here Adam Smith's teachings about the invisible hand. The invisible hand is present in Hegel's writings as an element, from what sprang his theory of spirit. That means that his theory of spirit is a general theory of spontaneous order, although written in metaphysical manner. However, being a theorist of spontaneous order didn't prevent him from being an interventionist. He was led to interventionism by his synoptic fallacy of mind. He never tried to apply this fallacy on the studies of the market economy. Marxists did that. Some of recent scholars (Sciabarra, Johnson, and Cristi) identified Hegel's theory of spontaneous order, but their interpretation wasn't perfectly in accordance with Hegel's texts. How these authors denied Popper's and Hayek's incorrect opinion that Hegel was a totalitarian, thus it is needed to enrich studies of mentioned current scholars. Here it is taken into account only what Hegel wrote, not later authors about him. This thesis is also an attempt to evaluate the history of economic thought from the standpoint of Smith's and Hegel's methodology.

Metodologie procesu firemní inovace na pozadí systémové teorie s aplikací na existující firmu / Company innovation process methodology on the background of Systems Theory, with application on an existing company.

Brunn, Vladimir January 2014 (has links)
The main goal of this work is to develop an innovation framework for companies, with application on an existing company, that needs to pass through a process of innovation. In this document a new methodology is created by merging two theories into one. The first theory is a new created creative theory called "The Theory of Ten" (Teorie Deseti), in this case used for finding the initial conditions for innovation. The second theory is Systems Theory, more concretely Soft Systems Methodology. Both of the theories were partially adapted and merged to an unified unique methodology.

Testování výkonnosti maziv pro kolejovou dopravu / Testing of Rail Lubricants Performance

Tomčová, Renata January 2021 (has links)
Top-of- rail lubricants are an effective way to control adhesion, reduce contact wear and noise in rail transport. However, despite the widespread use of these lubricants, there is currently no standard defining how to test and evaluate their performance. This work aims to develop a methodology for testing top-of-rail lubricants in a laboratory environment using a tribometer in a ball-on-disk configuration. At first, important operational parameters of experiments are analyzed and experimentally tested. These are mainly wear-in and run-in, method of application, roughness and geometric parameters of contact bodies. The result of this work is a testing methodology that guarantees good repeatability and reliability of results. In the last part of this work, the methodology is verified using commercial top-of-rail lubricants.
