Monitoring a regulace parazitického roztoče Varroa destructor v chovech včely medonosné (Apis mellifera

KLEČKOVÁ, Romana January 2018 (has links)
The aim of this thesis was to monitor the Varroa destructor parasitic mite in correlation with the microclimatic conditions of the Carniolan honey bee (Apis mellifera carnica). The rate of infestation of selected bee colonies at different locations was assessed in three-day intervals. At the same time, the microclimate in the hives was observed. The monitoring took place from April to mid-October. Also, the effect of the microclimate on the mite fall count was evaluated. During the whole evaluation, the highest average daily fall count was 2.08 mites per day at honeybee colonies at location 1 and 2; 1.97 at location 3. There was no statistically significant difference (P > 0.05) between those locations. The comparison of fall count between the moths of observation revealed, that highest fall count was during September (3.03 mites per day) and the lowest fall count was in April (0.41 mites per day; P 0.001). The rates of dependence (assessed by correlation analysis) between the fall count and microclimatic conditions in individual colonies varied. The strongest correlation between hive temperature and fall count (r = -0.45, P 0.05) was found at location 2. A low correlation was found at location 1 (r = -0.17, P 0.05). On the other hand, location 3 showed an insignificant and inconclusive correlation between hive temperature and fall count (r = 0.003, P > 0.05). The aggregate data (without distinction of location or month) showed significant (P 0.05) correlation between fall count and hive temperature (r = -0.14). The correlation between relative air humidity in hive and the fall count was statistically insignificant and low (r = -0.02, P > 0.05). The results revealed that the degree of correlation between the hive microclimate and the development (fall count respectively) of the Varroa destructor population is different for each colony. The monitoring of the dead Varroa destructor females is an appropriate complementary tool to diagnose a colony's infestation. The statistical analysis confirmed that with the decreasing summer and end-of-summer temperatures the Varroa destructor population grows and it is necessary to take measures to suppress its growth due to the development of the honey bee long-term winter generation.

Morfologie fosilních tříděných strukturních půd Krkonoš / Structure of non-active sorted patterned ground in the Giant Mts.

Uxa, Tomáš January 2011 (has links)
Sorted patterned ground are a group of periglacial microforms which create more or less symmetrical forms due to frost action and especially repeated freeze-thaw cycles. The origin of sorted patterned ground in the Giant Mts. is presumed in late Pleistocene and they are suggested to be recently inactive (with the exception of sorted circles). Their occurrence is linked to the topmost localities with flat surfaces and intense wind action which causes low snow cover and allow deep soil freezing. The submitted diploma thesis deals with the influence of site characteristics (such as microclimatic extremity, terrain morphology and lithology) on morphology and sorting degree of sorted patterned ground. Field research was carried out along a transect tracing the microclimatic extremity gradient (represented by altitude and so-called relative snow height) in area of Mt. Luční hora in the eastern part of the Giant Mts. which in relatively homogeneous from the viewpoint of lithology and wind exposure. The transect was further extended across the Modré sedlo Saddle to the Mt. Studniční hora where there also occur various types of fossil sorted patterned ground or quasi- active sorted circles in the Modré sedlo Saddle, respectively. However, there is a variability of lithological as well as altitude...

Forma e arborização em cânions urbanos: tendências de estresse térmico para o pedestre em cenários futuros de Umuarama/PR / Form and afforestation in urban canyons: trends of pedestrian thermal stress in future scenarios of Umuarama-PR

Lima, Diana Carla Rodrigues 07 November 2017 (has links)
The appropriate evolution of urban form for your climate context is determinant to open spaces environmental quality. However, it is observed that in several cities the accelerated urban growth occurs almost without any control or planning. This lack of control is pointed as the cause of damage to the built and natural environment, including the thermal discomfort in open spaces. In Brazil, the Master Plan is the instrument of the municipal governments that regulates the urban design; however, there is a gap between environmental aspects and the formulation of plans and municipal laws. The city of Umuarama in the Northwest of Paraná, has seen an intense urban growth, however, there is still a flexibility to the management of urban form. Actually, the new municipal Master Plan is in the aproval phase, it proposes the expansion of the urban area where verticalization is permitted, and the municipal urban afforestation plan, that seeks to promote and control the increase of urban afforestation. In view of proposed plans, this research has as main objective to verify the trends of thermal stress in the pedestrian\'s level in future scenarios of urban canyons in the central area of Umuarama. The urban canyon, referring to the space formed by the via and adjacent buildings, was adopted as object of study because it is the smallest unit microclimatic and the main urban open space for public use. The methodology applied is based on in loco data collection; simulation of different scenarios of urban setting through microclimatic modeling with the ENVI-met program, for summer and winter condition; and application of thermal comfort index Physiological Equivalent Temperature - PET. The results showed that different combinations of the urban form parameters, specifically, the urban canyon geometry and afforestation present in your interior, result in various trends of thermal stress to the pedestrian. The highest levels of thermal stress in the pedestrian level were observed during the day, in summer; these levels trend to be smaller with increasing H/W ratio and afforestation in urban canyons. In addition, there has been less thermal amplitude in canyons with more green coverage. In urban canyons with N-S orientation, increasing the green coverage inside the urban canyon was more important for the reduction of the PET index than in the canyons with L-O orientation; on the other hand, in those canyons with L-O orientation, increasing the H/W ratio was more representative to minimize the PET. Understanding PET behavior in different scenarios demonstrated that new urban form settings are compatible with the open spaces environmental quality since applied urban design strategies climatically guided. In the end, based on the results, were delineated recommendations related urban streets geometry and green coverage in favour of thermal comfort of the users of these spaces.

Využití metody náhrady přírodních zdrojů ("resource equivalency method") pro hodnocení náhrady škod způsobených na ekosystémech člověkem / Methods of resource utilization equivalnecy method for assessing damages caused to human ecosystems

MUNDOKOVÁ, Mariana January 2011 (has links)
The economic evaluation of costs for remediation of montane spruce forest attacked by bark beetle in the different stage of decline (plots with actually living mature trees, plots with dead tree stand, wood is remaining in the ecosystem, plots with damaged stands, which were clear-cut, ten model plots) was made in the National Nature Park Šumava (Modrava model area) using resource equivalency method. Microclimatic characteristics (temperature and humidity development) measured ba dataloggers and communities of epigeic beetles (pitfall traps) were used as environmental metrics. Results indicate that the natural remediation of declined forest is economically most profitable. The microclimatic characteristics of plots with dead tree stand are most similar to the active forest. The species diversity, activity of beetles and frequency of relic species and species indicating virginal forest is higher in plots with dead tree stands. Based on these data we can resulted that the natural remediation of montane spruce forest is the most acceptable way both from biological and economical view (regeneration of ecosystem services of montane spruce forest).

Étude et modélisation des transferts hydriques et thermiques au sein des matériaux inorganiques poreux : application aux matériaux du patrimoine bâti ancien, exemple de l'Hypogée des Dunes à Poitiers et de la crypte de l'abbatiale de Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe / Study and modelling of hydric and thermal transfers within porous inorganic materials : application on the materials of the built heritage, example of the Hypogeum of Dunes in Poitiers and the crypt of the abbey-church of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe

Merckx, Benoit 22 November 2013 (has links)
In the framework of preservation and rehabilitation of ancient buildings, materials used for their construction must be characterized with regards to thermal and hydric transfer properties. The first stage of our research work focused on the development of a sensor of thermal conductivity and moisture content of the inorganic porous materials (stone, concrete, render) making up the monuments. The methods of investigation have to remain non-invasive. For this purpose, the path followed was to adapt the measure of thermal conductivity by a simplified transient hot-wire method, previously developed for corrosive fluids, to dressed stones used in built heritage. In order to transfer this technology from fluids to the solids, several stages were carried out : (1) measures with the integrated wire, (2) surface measures, (3) estimation of the influence of surface roughness and (4) use of this method to estimate the moisture content of several test materials. The second stage of the research consisted in the microclimatic monitoring of two historical sites: the Hypogeum of the Dunes in Poitiers and the crypt of the abbey church of Saint-Savin-sur-Gartempe. The thesis work sought to evaluate the impact of construction work performed in the Hypogeum on the internal climatic conditions, and to determine the influence of climatic variations on the formation of a biological veil in the crypt of Saint-Savin. To this aim, correlative analysis is applied to the treatment of climatic data.

Vývoj ledopádu v Labské rokli v období 2014-2016 / EVOLUTION OF ICEFALL IN LABSKÁ ROKLE RAVINE DURING 2014-2016

Švec, Matěj January 2016 (has links)
The objective of this thesis is to characterize the Labská rokle creek icefall in terms of its morphology and types of ice structures. It describes the icefall's development during the winter season and analyses the impact of meteorological factors. The data about the icefall's volume were collected via sequential photographing and 3D scanner measuring during the winter seasons 2014/15 and 2015/16. The collected data were compared with the data from temperature sensors situated below the icefall and in its close proximity and with the data from the meteorological station in Labská bouda hut. The given icefall showed a very fast growth in the first phase of its development. This phase was followed by a typically stable phase of small fluctuations and subtle reactions to surrounding stimuli. In the third phase, a rapid decline in volume occurred as a result of either episodic events, such as when a larger piece of ice came loose, or progressive thawing. Regarding the factors, it was confirmed that temperature had the biggest impact on the volume of the icefall. A very high correlation was also found to be between the icefall's volume and the height of snow. A bigger snow height apparently puts off the stable phase and allows a greater accumulation of ice. The impact of global radiation and sunlight...

Congo

Alongo Longomba, Sylvain 05 July 2013 (has links)

In the forest zone of Yangambi, located in the Central Congo Basin (DRC), land use is changing rapidly and forest fragmentation due to slash and burn agriculture has become one of the dominant processes of landscape dynamics. This study's main goal is to apply a microclimatic approach in transects to determine the edge area between the fallow grasslands and dense forests, and, in order to better understand the responses of the soil physico-chemical properties to changes in land use and forest fragmentation. Two most popular areas used by farmers have been selected on the basis of the existing soil units: the Yangambi and Yakonde series. Undisturbed soil samples at depths of 0-10 cm, 10-20 cm, 20-30 cm and the disturbed at 0-20 cm were collected from different the land use types after detecting the edge area. Our approach was to compare the properties of identical soils based on their genesis, under grass fallow, edge and forest cover, so as to quantify the effect of edge on the soil properties, to better understand the edaphic consequences of the forest fragmentation by slash and burn shifting cultivation.
The results showed that the edge area between fallow and dense forests has a width of 70 m for the Yangambi series and 68 m for the Yakonde series. Microclimatic variations of the edge in terms of air temperature are intermediate (average, minimum and maximum) between grass fallows and dense forests. The fragmentation of forests by slash and burn shifting cultivation profoundly modifies the physico-chemical properties of soils in the surface layers. One of the effects of changes in land use and fragmentation was the presence of surface layers with more sandy texture in the fallow grassland and forest edges. Bulk density and hydraulic conductivity undergo an important degradation under grass fallows. In contrast, the forest edge ensures a maintenance of the soil structure (low bulk density and good hydraulic conductivity). Dense forest soil has thus good physical properties and therefore is taken as the reference from which the effects of soil physical degradation can be appreciated.
The chemical potential of the soil (based on pH, available phosphorus, base saturation and CECE) is better in the grass fallows and forest edges compared to dense forests due to the practice of slash and burn which allows restoration by adding nutrients to the soil through the ashes. The carbon and total nitrogen in the soil were significantly higher under forest edges than in fallow grasslands and dense forests. The results of the-Kamprath index shows the edges, in addition to contributing to an increase in soil organic carbon, tend to decrease the aluminium toxicity of studied soils. By contrast, the study revealed a higher aluminium toxicity under fallow grassland on the Yangambi series that under the edge and the forest. In parallel, we observed a decrease in iron contents in all fallow lands and forest edges.
The practices of cultivated fallows and agroforestry are proving unavoidable for enriching these soils in organic material, to reduce erosion related to slash and burn in order to curb the leaching of nutrients, to avoid soil compaction and to maintain a long-term well developed soil structure.
