Genderová analýza vybraných románů Miloše Urbana / Gender analysis of chosen novels of Miloš Urban

Husáková, Martina January 2014 (has links)
This diploma thesis A Gender Analysis of Selected Novels of Miloš Urban researches two concrete literary texts, novels Sedmikostelí and Lord Mord, which are analysed from gender perspective. By using two methods, feminist "resisting reading" and discursive analysis, there are uncovered various ways of female's characters construction, which are put in the social and cultural context. Theoretically the work is patterned on Judith Fetterley's concept, which was created during second wave of feminism, and it is connected to new poststructuralist and deconstructivist approaches. In this theses literature is perceived as space of impressing and encountering different discourses. Senses, categories and relations, incuding gender relations, are deconstructed in this space. This theses's core is the analysis of different categories and forms of femininity, which are reproduced in Urban's texts. It tries to show the possibility to read literary text "against the hair" and to not succumb to its interpellations. In this way it stresses personality of reading individual and his/her ability to complete/reshape text during every single process of reading and to produce new senses and categories. Keywords: feminism, gender analysis, Lord Mord, Sedmikostelí, Urban Miloš, resisting reading, women characters

Miloš Sovák a reedukace levorukých / Milos Sovak and the reeducation of the left-handen

Černý, Daniel January 2022 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of left-handed retraining in the context of the research of Professor Miloš Sovák. It shows his contribution in this area and how he specifically contributed to the formation of teaching in the following years. The work is characterized by left-handedness, laterality. Examples of diagnostics of laterality of individual tests are given. In the theoretical part, the author also considers the breadth of the context of re-teaching not only the left-handed, where any violent re-learning can lead to consequences for life. In the practical part, a qualitative research was chosen, which is conducted on the basis of a semi-structured interview conducted with five respondents who answer open and closed questions about methods and approaches to their re-learning and their perception of the re- learning process. Research shows that there is no trait that is common to a smaller number of trainees, and therefore it is highly unlikely that there is a trait that would characterize a large group of trainees. However, given the research sample, it is not possible to draw a broader conclusion. KEYWORDS Milos Sovak, left-haned, retraining, reeducation, lavage, life story

Hudba v českých filmech Miloše Formana / Music in Czech Movies Made by Milos Forman

Franc, Adam January 2011 (has links)
The thesis deals with a musical aspect in Czech films directed by Miloš Forman. The topic is investigated within a wider context of musical culture of the 1960s as it is focused on analysis of cultural phenomena associated with musical expression which left their impression on Forman's films and participated, to great extent, in specificity of their soundtracks. So the films are not analyzed as separate artifacts, but they are considered as documents affected by the social climate at that time. Common social phenomena which were an integral part of Forman's films are studied such as dancing parties, twist and radio broadcasting. The Forman's cooperation with the Semafor theatre is analyzed as well as how Semafor poetics influenced his films. Jiří Suchý's lyrics and the period hits classified as the medium pop music stream are carefully analyzed as they are an important part of Forman's films. A short outline of the cinematographic context of the 1960s and comparison with films thematically similar help to specify Forman's approach to the music aspect. The collage-like structure of the work highlights a few contradictory trends in pop music of the 1960s whose variety can be seen in Forman's films.

The theoretical part of the thesis summarizes literature probing the visual framing of politics and the influence of photographic images in media on audiences and their decisions in elections. The quantitative content analysis compares the number of each candidate's pictures in the Czech press in order to determine whether the visual coverage was balanced or not and whether this could have affected the election results. It also verifies the hypothesis that newspapers tend to publish more pictures of the candidates with similar political orientation. Besides that, the thesis also compares how each of the journals uses photography illustration by examining the size, placement, type, caption length and authorship of the pictures.
