Produkce jetů s velkou příčnou hybností na LHC / Produkce jetů s velkou příčnou hybností na LHC

Podškubka, Radek January 2014 (has links)
In the first part of the thesis, theoretical uncertainties of jet cross-section have been calculated for proton-proton collision at the center of mass energy of 8 TeV. For jet identification the anti-kT algorithm with scale parameter R = 0.6 was used. As the calculations showed, the major contribution to the total theoretical uncertainty comes from the uncertainty of parton distribution function parameters. In the second part of the thesis, the angular distribution of dijet events produced in proton-proton collisions at the center of mass energy 8 TeV were simulated using Pythia 8 Monte Carlo event generator. New physics model of quark compositeness that should manifest itself by quark contact interaction was studied using angular distribution of dijet events. Three angular variables were discussed and these variables were used to calculate 95% CL lower limit on contact interaction scale. The results were compared and it emerged that the sensitivity to contact interaction signals varies for these variables.

Technické rezervy neživotního pojištění v interních modelech solventnosti / Technical reserves of non-life insurance in the internal solvency models

Thomayer, Jiří January 2011 (has links)
Title: Technical reserves of non-life insurance in the internal solvency model Author: Bc. Jiří Thomayer Department: Department of Propability and Mathematical Statistics Supervisor: Mgr. Ing. Jakub Mertl Abstract: In this work we study and describe calculation of solvency capital using the standard formula contained in the Directive of the European Union (Solvency II), which should be put into practice in Europe on 1 January 2013. This calcu- lation is described in quantitative impact study 5. We describe a general approach to risk measurement and we show some particular practical measures used to risk measurement. We explain under what conditions the standard formula or its parts can be replaced by internal model. Next, we show disadvantages of using the stan- dard formula and we propose possible internal model to calculate risk premiums and risk reserves in non-life insurance. Finally we apply the proposed model for calculation risk reverses in non-life insurance in practice. Keywords: Standard formula, Risk measurement, Solvency II, Internal model;

Recent B-decay implications beyond the Standard Model

Neshatpour, Siavash 23 May 2013 (has links) (PDF)

Jezo, Tomas 25 September 2013 (has links)
General SU(2)x SU(2)x U(1) models represent a well-motivated intermediate step towards the unication of the Standard Model (SM) gauge groups. Extended gauge group sector, as compared to that of the SM, leads to additional neutral and charged gauge bosons. These so-called Z' and W' bosons are actively searched for at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Based on a recent global analysis of low-energy and LEP constraints of these models, we perform numerical scans of their various signals at the LHC at Leading Order accuracy. We show that total cross sections for lepton and third-generation quark pairs, while experimentally easily accessible, provide individually only partial information about the model realized in Nature. In contrast, correlations of these cross sections in the neutral and charged current channels may well lead to a unique identification. Subsequently we study the electroweak top-pair production at Next-to-leading Order (NLO) accuracy in the SM extensions with an additional Z' boson assuming general flavour-diagonal couplings. We calculate the virtual and real corrections at order O(alS*alW^2) and implement them in the POWHEG BOX framework which allows for consistent matching of NLO QCD calculations with parton showers. We find that the NLO corrections can be very important but the K-factors in the invariant mass region around the resonance mass are modest.

Míra porozumění a zvuková atraktivita různých variant angličtiny v percepci českých posluchačů / Comprehensibility and pleasantness of different varieties of English as judged by Czech listeners

Jakšič, Jan January 2018 (has links)
The current diploma thesis examines Czech listeners' perception of various accents of English from the points of view of comprehensibility, pleasantness, socioeconomic status, and model suitability. The main aim of the study is to contribute to the discussion on how accent variation within the Anglophone world is perceived by non-native speakers, and what aspects influence their evaluations of the accents. The theoretical part of the thesis defines several terms related to the domain, describes selected pronunciation varieties of English, and summarizes research which has focused on native accents of English in the perception of non-native speakers. The research part of the thesis consists of a study, in which 39 Czech students from two types of schools evaluated six accents of English and provided information about their experience with English and Anglophone cultures. The results showed that standard varieties are favoured by the students in all four respects, but also that students' evaluations, especially for pleasantness, may be affected by their relations to the Anglophone world. Key words: Native Accent, Regional Variation, L2 learner, Comprehensibility, Socioeconomic Status, Pronunciation Model, Standard

Modelování rychlých přechodných dějů / High Speed Transients Modelling

Bukvišová, Zuzana January 2017 (has links)
This thesis deals with the high speed transient modelling in the electrical networks. The introduction of this work discusses mathematical models of the individual devices used in the system and focuses on the line representation. It also contains a more detailed description of Bergeron and frequency dependent line model. The objective of this thesis is to design a network model using ATP-EMTP simulation program. In this model, the switching overvoltage caused by shunt reactor switching and lightning overvoltage are simulated. The thesis thoroughly describes the settings of the components used in the model of analysed network and in conclusion evaluates obtained simulation results in a relation to the insulation coordination.

Poskytování kulturně senzitivní ošetřovatelské péče těžce přizpůsobivým Romům / Giving of cultural-senzitive nurse care to the heavily-adaptable Roma citizens

REIDINGEROVÁ, Alena January 2009 (has links)
In my thesis I focused on a group of heavily-adaptable Roma citizens. This group was defined as a group with elementary education who are unemployed and depending on the goverment assistance and aid. They receive government social welfare. The last criterion in stipulating the definition was that they lived socially separated on the edge of the society. Their lifestyle reflects their social status and has a huge impact on their health conditions of heavily-adaptable Roma citizens. The goals of my thesis were to find out specifications of health care of healthy and ill heavily-adaptable Roma Citizen, and to work out some standards and some structure for educetional principles. In the course of my research I focuseld on finding the factors that influence the work of nurses with the heavily-adaptable Roma citizens.
