Vliv chemické signalizace na chování švába Amazonina platystylata (Blattodea: Ectobiidae) / The influence of chemical stimuli on the behaviour of the cockroach Amazonina platystylata (Blattodea: Ectobiidae)

Jůna, František January 2015 (has links)
Cockroaches are not considered typical plant pollinators, however, there are some exceptions to this rule. One of them is the South American species Amazonina platystylata, which is known for pollinating a dioecious shrub Clusia blattophila. This clusia is quite abundant on the Nouragues inselberg in French Guyana and is endemic there. In my research I was focused on the plant-animal communication. The aim of this thesis was to find possible behavioural response to the flower scent of clusia or to the compounds of flower scent, as clusia flowers differ in compounds of scent. Male flowers produce acetoin as a major compound. This compound is also found in female flowers but only at lower levels and in the first night of flowering. When acetoin was added to two days old female flowers, the amount of cockroaches' visits in such flowers increased to the same level as observed on male flowers. Until now there were no records about biology of this cockroach species and neither was morphology of their glands described. I have found out that both males and females of A. platystylata have tergal modification on the 7th to 8th tergite; a modification that could be connected to their glands. Evaporation plate on the first tergal shield in A. platystylata is described in this thesis for the first time. Key...

Řízení morfologie směsí biodegradovatelných polymerů / Control of the morphology of biodegradable polymer blends

Ostafińska, Aleksandra January 2017 (has links)
This dissertation, entitled »Control of the morphology of biodegradable polymer blends«, has been running parallel with the grant project »Multiphase biodegradable polymer systems« and it represents a new research direction in the Department of morphology and rheology of polymer materials at the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry. The main idea was to employ our long-lasting work and experience in the field of morphology control of synthetic polymer blends in the very analogous field of the biodegradable polymer blends. We have chosen three most common, widely used and relatively cheap bio-based polymers - starch, poly(lactic acid) and poly(ε-caprolactone) - in order to investigate how the properties of their blends might be improved if we control the blend morphology in targeted, reproducible and well-defined way from the very beginning. It has been well established that morphology (phase structure, supramolecular structure) is one of the key factors influencing final properties of polymer blends, including mechanical performance, rate of (bio)degradation, gas permeability etc. In this work, numerous preliminary experiments showed that there are two systems in which the morphology control could significantly help in the improving of their end-use properties: PLA/PCL/TiX (where PLA = poly(lactic acid),...

Gramatické schopnosti dětí na začátku školní docházky / Grammar Skills of Children at the Beginning of School Attendance

Melecová, Pamela January 2020 (has links)
The diploma thesis deals with speech and language therapeutic issues. It follows children's speech and language development mainly from morphological - syntactic level. It focuses on grammar skills of children at the beginning of school attendance that are evaluated by a newly developed diagnostic material named Test gramatiky pro školní začátečníky, ie Grammar test for school beginners. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with language ontogenesis and development of language levels with a focus on morphological - syntactic level and its diagnostic. It describes grammar issues in detail, its development as well as diagnostic materials used in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. The third chapter presents various diagnosis related to the research where the grammar language level was observed. Particular attention is dedicated to specific language impairment. The empirical part of the thesis represents quantitative research. It evaluates, on a sample of 170 children, practical use of the new test, which is focused on the grammar language level. The research was completed by the method of observation of children and also the feedback and evaluation of the test by clinical speech and language therapists. Through the analysis of acquired data it was found that children with specific language...

Exoskopický standard sedimentů glacigenních akumulačních forem reliéfu / Exoscopy of sediments of glacigenous accumulation landforms

Křížová, Lenka January 2010 (has links)
This thesis looks at the comparison between grain micromorphology of moraines, debris flows and similar accumulations. Moraine samples were taken in the Černé jezero Lake area, Bohemian Forest, in the Velická dolina Valley, High Tatras, and in the Labský důl Valley, Krkonoše Mts. Samples of debris flows and unverified accumulations were taken in the Důl Bílého Labe Valley, Krkonoše Mts., and further samples of accumulations were obtained from the valley of Prudký potok Stream, Králický Sněžník Mts., the valley of Vražedný potok Stream and Velká Kotlina, Hrubý Jeseník Mts. Sediments were examined under electron microscope and their morphological characteristics and influence of the environment were identified and described. Calculated exoscopic moraine standard was used for comparison of examined forms of relief using distance coefficients, statistical analysis were carried out which identified diagnostic characters for distinguishing moraines and debris flows. There was also calculated exoscopic standard for different types of moraines (frontal, lateral, basal). This research highlighted the differences between moraines and debris flows, and between different types of moraines. The study also proved that typical glacial microtextures, that are generally accepted, occur at similar levels on grains...

Taxonomická revize rodu Anisus v České republice (Mollusca: Planorbidae) / Taxonomic revision of the genera Anisus in the Czech Republic (Mollusca: Planorbidae)

Zavoral, Tomáš January 2010 (has links)
The aim of this work is to critically review the anatomical and morphological characters being currently used in the determination of Central European species of the genus Anisus and to confront them with molecular characters. For the molecular analysis mitochondrial genes for 16S rRNA and cytochrome c oxidase - subunit I (COI) were used. DNA analysis showed that known species occuring in the Czech Republic form well distinguishable genetic lines. Subsequent revisions of the anatomical characters of these lines have proven that these characters are due to their variability not suitable for determination, especially for the differentiating of the species A. spirorbis and A. leucostoma. The conchological characters have proven more suitable, especially the ratio of the size of the last and penultimate whorl. With the help of this character, we can safely determine a population within which there are transitional forms in other morphological and anatomical characters.

Interakce proteinů Whi3 a Yap6 při mírném osmotickém stresu / Interaction of Whi3 and Yap6 under mild osmotic stress

Voloshin, Danila January 2021 (has links)
Natural strains of the Saccharomyces cerevisiae growing on solid médium form structured, biofilm -like colonies. This ability is depended on the surface adhesin Flo11p. The expression of the FLO11 gene is upregulated by the RNA-binding protein Whi3p, which is likely to have a negative effect on the level of the transcription factor Yap6p. The aim of this study was to determine whether Yap6p affects colony morphology and FLO11 expression. Analysis of FLO11 expression using the fluorescent proteins pFlo11-GFP and Flo11p-DsRed in WHI3-deletion strains demonstrated a negative effect of Yap6p on FLO11 expression and confirmed changes in the effect of Yap6p on FLO11 expression in the presence of NaCl. In the strain overexpressing YAP6, the fluorescence values of pFlo11-GFP and Flo11p-DsRed were lower than in the strain with deletion of the YAP6 and in the presence of NaCl there was observed the largest increase in fluorescence. Although Yap6 protein is thought to have a negative effect on FLO11 expression under standard culture conditions, it seems to be responsible for a significant increase in FLO11 expression in the presence of mild osmotic stress. In WHI3-deletion strains, there was observed a significant increase in structuredness of colonies growing in the presence of NaCl. Analysis of structured...

Morfologická variantnost v mluvených a psaných komunikátech žáků 2. stupně základních škol ve středočeské nářeční oblasti / Morphological Variation in Spoken and Written Communication of Pupils from the Sixth to the Ninth Grade in the Central Bohemian Dialect Region

Sojka, Pavel January 2013 (has links)
TITLE: Morphological Variation in Spoken and Written Communication of Pupils from the Sixth to the Ninth Grade in the Central Bohemian Dialect Region AUTHOR: Pavel Sojka DEPARTMENT: Czech Language Department, Faculty of Education in Prague SUPERVISOR: PhDr. Ladislav Janovec, Ph.D. ABSTRACT This dissertation presents the results of the research in the morphological variation in the spoken and written expression of primary-school pupils (sixth-to-ninth graders) within the central Bohemian dialect region. The impetus behind this research is the long-standing requirement for linguistic examination to pay attention not only to the language of adults, but also to that of pupils and students. From the viewpoint of pedagogy, it establishes the extent to which the speech of children and youth features typical morphological tendencies of contemporary Czech, from the viewpoint of linguistics, it verifies the extent to which schooling manages to fulfill one of the crucial goals of linguistic education, i.e. appropriation of the standardized form of national language. The examined material comprised three specimens: transcriptions from lessons, recordings of a radio show and internet advertisements. The analysis of the specified linguistic material yielded that from the viewpoint of the usage of standard morphology,...

Francouzština v Belgii / French in Belgium

Šťastná, Natalie January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this research is to study the French language used in Belgium, to describe the linguistic situation and some peculiarities of the language there, and to compare it with French language used in France. The author lived in Belgium for nearly six years and compared her experience of the differences between the French language in Belgium with the one used in France. To explore her impressions, she has studied and analysed different sources on the topic and summarised the most important differences. The research is divided in two parts. One gives more general information on Belgium, describes the history of the territory and the linguistic situation of the country to help understand the situation of the French language there. The other, more important part on the language itself describes the phonetic, morphological, syntactic and lexical particularities of Belgian French. The basic conclusion of this paper is that Belgian French is slightly different from French used in France but the differences are not great enough to make understanding between the two nations difficult.
