Diploma thesis The Brownfield solutions within the Czech republic - Tepna Náchod, solves the unused territory after the former textile factory in close proximity to the historical centre of the city. The thesis deals with the analysis of the current state of the territory, its problems and the proposal of the new urban structure. It focuses on working with public space, a block structure linked to the historical centre and connecting the area to its surroundings. The aim is to create a functioning urban structure in an interesting city location.

This work describes industrial and knight family Bartoň from Dobenín situated on the castle Nové Hrady. I concentrated on the lifetime history of some important members of this family from the begining to the end of the 20th century. A special focus has been given on the castle Nové Hrady, which is extraordinary architectural jewel, situated in the Czech Republic. The castle Nové Hrady is connected with some important names, for example Jan Ludvík and Jan Antonín Harbuval de Chamaré or architect Josef Jäger and others. There is another important family of Čerych. The current owners Mr. and Mrs. Kučera are trying to bring back its previous glance. Were the members of the Bartoň family from Dobenín different from the ordinary people living in that time? Has the knighthood changed them in some way? You can find the answers in this work. Socially excluded localities are found all over the Czech Republic. They are whole neighbourhoods, houses or streets, usually situated on the outskirts of towns, threatened by a symbolic, territorial, cultural, economic and social exclusion. The inhabitants of the socially excluded localities usually have debts with the town, which is the reason why they were moved to this locality. Problems that frequently occur in the socially excluded localities include insufficient education, high unemployment rate, financial problems and a high occurrence of socially pathological phenomena. Drawing on the facts obtained, it is possible to recommend social services that missing here at present. At the same time, the results of this thesis may serve to social workers as a detailed survey of the social situation of the locality in question.

The main goal of this Diploma´s Thesis is to make a model for calculation of water and sewer rates for the company Vodovody a kanalizace Náchod, a.s. when sticking to the set criteria both from the side of VaK Náchod, a.s. and law regulations. Based on the theoretical part an analysis of customer sensitivity to the price changes using the data for last 20 years follows. Findings from the first two parts are used in risk analysis in next part. The created model calculates the water and sewer rates based on the information from the company accounting system in the way to generate sufficient financial resources to fulfill the renovation plan of infrastructural property plant and equipment and to transfer given amount to the company funds. In addition, the model monitors whether the legal condition of maximal allowable increase of profit per m3 is met. In the customer sensitivity to the price changes part the price elasticity of demand for water and sewer rates is calculated based on the data from 1995 to 2015. The assumption of inelastic demand is confirmed. Risk analysis part is deals with potential risk regarding the demand and prices. Potential impacts for the most significant risk are quantified. The analysis uses knowledge gained in the first two parts. It was confirmed that potential risks are exiting but do not have any significant impact on the going concern of VaK Náchod, a.s. The created model has been already used for the calculation of prices for the year 2017. Customer sensitivity analysis to the price changes and link to the potential risks is an additional information for VaK Náchod, a.s. which validates that nowadays, there are no significant threats which could affect the demand and water and sewer rates significantly.

Each sector of human activity is linked to the prices, which generally affect the decisions of the man. Price as such can be determinative factor. The first part of this work is aimed at a general interpretation of the market mechanism, specification of a particular type of market, which is a real estate market and the definition of the factors that affect prices of real estate. In the next section there is described researched locality, which is the Nachod district in Kralovehradecky region, and methodology for assessing the impact of social and environmental factors on the prices of real estate for housing. The default for this property is a real estate database that provides information on prices, characteristics of the Czech Statistical Office, and other documents that serve as information on assessed factors. On the basis of these data there are examined interdependencies between them and the conclusion of this analysis provides an overview of knowledge. There is also assessed the building-up at this location and developing trends in the region.

The diploma thesis, based primarily on the method of oral history, deals with selected chapters from the life of Petr Rýgr, a dissident and a person belonging to the circle of parallel culture. It is conceived as an episodic biography, while in the course of the research it follows the topic of the desire for a free life in a represive regime. The time limit corresponds to the period, called as "normalization" in socialist Czechoslovakia. The work captures the life of a dissident on a regional scale, on the border of the districts of Trutnov and Náchod. Rýgr's life is viewed in the text from several perspectives, primarily the self-concept of the protagonist, the view of his friends, and then the view of the author of the work based on the interpretation of interviews and the study of written sources. The individual chapters deal with Rýgr's adolescence, the possible degree of formation by opinion authorities, Václav Havel or Jaroslav Foglar, as well as life in a parallel, unofficial world, the issue of work duty or the October 1989 event when Petr Rýgr sent an advertisement to Rudé právo congratulating Václav Havel alias Ferdinand Vaňek on his birthday. The work subscribes to a personalistic approach, while in accordance with it, the researched personality of Petr Rýgr is perceived as a phenomenon...

The assignment of diploma thesis was processed the area of the textile factory in Náchod – named Tepna. As part of this work I tried to suggest a live continuation of the historical core of city Náchod and connect the new district to the Plhov housing estate. As a goal I have set revitalization of building Bílá Tepna whitch is actually abandoned. Bíla Tepna is the last standing object from original development and it indicates the indentity of the place. In one part of territory I put a new block bulding with mostly residential function. This area surrounds the main square and object Bíla Tepna. The second part of area consists of terraced family houses with children’s playground. By my suggestion I wainted residents to show how it is possible design the development if object Bílá Tepna will be preserved.

The topic of this Diploma Thesis is the urban design of the structure in the town Náchod in the area of the former textile factory. Several years ago the industrial area of the textile factory in Náchod was sold out. A part of this factory has been reconstructed but bigger part has been demolished. This part is currently the center of interest. The city is trying to get it completely into its property and appropriately build up the area again. The area is located north-east from the center, near the railway station. The aim of the thesis is to design a suitable urban structure. Usefully complement existing houses with new ones. Part of the design of new buildings is a solution to the traffic service, design of functional use and public space proposal. The proposal emphasizes the appropriate connection of the current city to new streets and houses. To make this new city part an integral part of the city.

The urban study deals with the design of the new city district in the area where the Tepna Náchod textile factory used to stand. The total area of the solved area (including the existing development) is 10.35 ha. My intention was to create a new neighborhood that will take advantage of the huge benefits of this area. These are the terrain configuration and the immediate proximity of the historic city center and the train and bus stations. Because the area is flat and it is one of the few in the city that is not on the slope, I decided to place a compact block of flats and make the most of the area. The aim was to design a new city district, basically a modern city center, but it will not compete with the historic one, but rather will support it. The newly designed public spaces are not critical in their size, but in their content and diversity. The main idea of the proposal was to use the proximity of the railway station, the historic center and the terrain and create a barrier-free city district for the inhabitants, which will connect the surrounding city districts and at the same time offer enough housing, places for business and also a leisure time environment. And everything is within walking distance of the station and the center.

The thesis deals with urban study for the central part of the town of Náchod, located in the proximity of the town’s historic core. The relief of the landscape lends distinctiveness to the whole area. This fact was taken into consideration when elaborating the urban concept which orientates the design towards the centre and the castle. The design is formed by three pillars – functions: square – culture, park – relax and housing. As regards the territory in question, Náchod has a great potential. My attempt was to understand it and create an area in the town centre which would have significant unified city-forming character, and which would enhance the core – the centre of the town.
