Integration of a thesaurus and Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) to improve subject access: the Hungarian experience

Hajdu-Barát, Ágnes 12 1900 (has links)
The paper explores two possible solutions for integrating a thesaurus and a classification scheme, specifically UDC, in order to develop a common platform for subject information retrieval through both systems. The author reports and compares experiences from two Hungarian projects aimed at creating a complex system for combining UDC and thesauri under a homogeneous theoretical framework: MÁTrIkSz (Hungarian Comprehensive Information Retrieval Language Dictionary) and the project of thesaurus construction and implementation in the Hungarian National Library (Széchényi). The role of UDC in these two projects is analyzed with respect to the features supported, classification-based retrieval functionalities, and the perceived advantages in subject access and knowledge organization. The author explains the methodology of her research based on an examination of structured and well-documented examples and literature research into the theory of UDC and its use. The paper underlines the importance of cognition as the basis for concept-building and points out some possibilities and expedients for the integration of thesauri and the UDC.

Analýza a hodnocení rizik využití automatizovaných systémů pro navrhování stavebních konstrukcí / Risk analysis and evaluation of using automated systems in building construction design

Koza, Josef January 2015 (has links)
This thesis in its first part deals with the complexity of the legislation, which is related to design activities and also trying to explain the basic rules for the creation of project documentation. In the main section then analyzes and evaluates the selected drawing software in defined categories. Based on the selection chooses the best drawing software and compared with the hand-crafted version of the design documentation in terms of time and cost. The final time for the creation of project documentation will be converted to a built-up area of the building and found the relationship between time constraints and the size of the built-up area of the new building. It will also be evaluating the return on investment to drawing software and assessing cost-effectiveness of various options drawing. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the risks in the use of software products for structural design and evaluate their use based on the value of work.

Využití metodik projektového řízení pro implementaci informačních systémů, jejich porovnání a využití v praxi / The Use of Project Management Methodologies for Implementation of Information Systems; their Comparison and Use in Practice

Kuchyňka, Petr January 2010 (has links)
The diploma paper introduces and, consequently, compares the worldwide accepted project management standards PMBOK Guide and CzNCB and ASAP Methodology for Implementation. Project management standards were presented by PMI and IPMA organizations, ASAP Methodology for Implementation was developed by SAP organization. The theoretical background is further applied on real situations within projects of implementations of SAP solutions that are realized by the company NESS Czech s.r.o.. Possible difficulties, which may arise during every implementation of SAP solutions, are being identified due to knowledge and experience of project managers and solution architects of NESS Czech s.r.o., not only during each phase of ASAP Methodology for Implementation but also during pre-implementation project phase. After settling the role and responsibilities of the supplier's project manager, the solutions how to avoid and/or react on possible difficulties, in charge of supplier's project manager, are being indicated.

Formal Participation in the EFRAG’s Consultation Processes

Gäumann, Martin, Dobler, Michael 20 June 2023 (has links)
While the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group (EFRAG) considers European national standard-setters (NSSs) as close partners that play a vital role in its legitimacy, empirical evidence on EFRAG’s consultation processes and the involvement of NSSs therein remains scarce. We use a multi-issue/multi-period approach to investigate the formal participation in EFRAG’s consultation processes. By examining 2,102 comment letters submitted to EFRAG in the 2002–2015 period, we find that NSSs typically outweigh other stakeholder groups in terms of level of participation across stages of the consultation process and project topics. Although NSSs’ level of participation is rather stable over time, it significantly varies across European countries. We also provide a recent classification of European NSSs and show that NSSs’ level of participation varies by their institutional status and is the highest for private NSSs. Our findings have implications for aspects of the legitimacy of both EFRAG and NSSs and shed light on the role of intermediaries in international accounting standard-setting.

L'amélioration de l'application et de l'interprétation uniformes des conventions internationales relatives au contrat de transport : le cas de la faute qualifiée / Improving the uniform application and interpretation of international conventions on the contract of carriage : the case of qualified misconduct

Deshayes, Olivier 27 June 2018 (has links)
The purpose of international conventions of uniform international trade law is to adopt a set of rules that are common and directly applicable to the legal relationship between the parties to an international commercial contract. The uniformity of these conventions can, however, be broken by divergent interpretations of which some of their provisions are the subject of the various national judges. This is particularly the case of the provisions relating to misconduct described in the international conventions of uniform law relating to the contract of carriage. In order to reduce differences of interpretation in this area, it has been proposed to change the wording of this qualified fault which, after having been formulated by means of a standard, has thus been made by means of a definition. This thesis was at first interested in the study of the results obtained in terms of uniformity of interpretation of this qualified fault under the influence of the standard, then under that of the definition. This made it possible to highlight the fact that beyond the drafting of the qualified fault by means of a standard or a definition, the divergences of interpretation appeared or could appear because of various disruptive elements which have been identified and for which a first level of proposals for solutions has been made. However, these proposals for solutions, which generally consist in adopting an interpretation taking into account the various disruptive elements of uniformity of interpretation that have been identified, must be implemented through mechanisms that are necessary to create. This is what this thesis proposed in a second step. The purpose of these mechanisms is to issue interpretative recommendations on conventional provisions that are the subject of at least potentially divergent interpretations. These recommendations are addressed to the courts of the States Parties to the conventions concerned and enjoy a sui generis status which justifies them being taken into account by the judge. If it is the misconduct described in the international agreements of uniform law relating to the contract of carriage which served as support and guideline for this study, the proposed elements of solution are however intended to apply, according to the same scheme, in other fields than transport law, governed by international conventions of uniform international trade law.
