Prédicats et arguments dans la terminologie militaire française au XXI° siècle / Predicates and arguments in french military terminology in the twenty-first century

Manikcaros, Frédéric 16 November 2018 (has links)
Within the framework of this study, we propose to analyse military language and particularlythat of the army. In part One, we deal with terminology, technical military language inrelation to everyday language as well as a survey of Defense-related specialized dictionariesand glossaries. In part Two, we take our cue from G. GROSS’s concept of object classes, which remains the best way of approaching military language specifically action-orientednominal predicates’syntactical properties, and support and appropriate verbs. We drew ourexamples from military action during fieldwork, both home and abroad, and upon the returnhome. Making use of these three phases, we outline syntactical and semantic propertiesspecific to each class of predicates. Part Three is devoted to arguments of three types : human, inanimate and locative ; it follows logically upon our analysis of object classes. Thisdissertation will help us carry out a contrastive analysis with another language as well as thecreation of a bilingual dictionary.

The interest in promoting an analysis in this context reflects an attempt to contribute, yet minimally, with the teaching of Portuguese, considering that the writing activities at high school aim to prepare the students linguistic-discursive abilities for the text production at the entrance examination. During the route traced for the development of this work, we tried to demonstrate that the unity nominal predicate + subject represents a structure of asseverative content from which the text producer exposes value judgments. The thematic position is used as a parameter for the recognition, in the syntactic plan, of a specific type of semantic organization. The delimitation of a syntactic-semantic description conducted an evaluation that joins the thematic position and the modalization content activated by the nominal predicate. For this reason, Halliday´s (1985) theory, based on the thematic structure of the clause, and the studies on modalization made by authors like Parret (1988), Castilho and Castilho (1992), Neves (1996), among others, support the hypothesis that the nominal predicate, when placed before the subject, plays a modalization role. The analysis carried out resulted in the recognition of a relationship between the nominal predicate and the propositional content exposed inside the subject. In this sense, the classification proposed in this work, although limited, summarizes the interpretation derived from comparisons and contrasts of the relationship PN + subject .

Étude comparative des noms d'affect en français et en roumain / Comparative study of French and Romanian affect nouns

Codreanu, Ecaterina 08 July 2016 (has links)
Conducted in a comparative perspective, this research aims to describe the lexicon of affect nouns in order to underline the converging areas and diverging areas in two genealogically related languages - French and Romanian - in two lines of thought: diachronic analysis concerning the dynamics of the evolution of the Romanian emotional vocabulary permeated with words of French origin and synchronic analysis of combinatorial features of affect nouns. Such research has highlighted some very interesting cases, the points where these two systems are similar, but not completely coincide. But despite the small specific morphosyntactic and combinatorial differences evidenced in the expression of emotions, they generally bear homogeneity of linguistic functioning. This fact is not only interesting in terms of comparative syntax, but also by the fact that the affect nouns performing the same cognitive scenario have similar behavior in both languages faced.
