Plan de negocios para la creación de un sistema integrado de gestión dirigido a corredores de seguros / Business plan for the creation of an Integrated Management System oriented for insurance brokers

Bastidas Parco, Miguel Angel, Cerna Rivera, Christian Diego, Chiri Ricse, Manuel Fernando 09 February 2019 (has links)
In 2017, the insurance and non-life insurance industry in Peru billed close to 11,327 million Soles, 0.6% more than the previous year (Superintendencia de Banca y Seguros, 2016); and it permeated through the GDP in a 1.6%. This scenario shows the wide potential of the industry to continue growing and to keep offering products of individual and massive coverage (Equilibrium, 2018) if we compare it with other markets of the globe. The industry is based in a distribution network of brokers, which is mainly composed of sole proprietorships or family enterprises based in personal commercial efforts, in which the direct or indirect relationship of the owner determines the action scope of the company. However, as their tasks are mainly attended by humans and in physical printed formats, numerous mistakes can occur during the sales cycle. In order to improve the productivity of these enterprises, we propose the creation of Previsor, an Integrated Management System which will allow the insurance brokers to access to their clients’ information in a fast, continuous, and efficient way. The system can be accessed from any device connected to the internet, which will help the brokers to increase their crossed sales and to manage their policy emissions. We estimate that our service will have a monthly payment of US$ 150.00, an investment of $500,000.00 approximately, an NPV of almost US $ 1.7 million, and an IRR of 253%. These are estimations that can make our project a very attractive opportunity for any future investors. / Trabajo de investigación

Three essays on insurance asset liability management. / CUHK electronic theses & dissertations collection / ProQuest dissertations and theses

January 2008 (has links)
The key objective of insurance company on money management is asset liability management, as policy asset is solely for paying policy liability. It is true whether it is in case of life insurance, general insurance, or reinsurance. The difficulty of achieving such objective is that the exact cash flow and the exact duration of policy liability are unknown ex ante that requires the asset manager's a good quantitative, financial skill. What is worse is that the variations of cash flow and duration can be huge that is demanding on the asset manager's quantitative, financial skill. Quantitative problem is difficult but qualitative problem can be even more difficult. The specialist problem in insurance industry, which is also known as agency problem in information economics, is notorious. It is because a specialist may no longer work for the insurance company when the long term liability is due and the existing liability portfolio is always composed of myriad policies liability. / The purpose of this thesis is to try to provide solutions to three critical problems in insurance industry. (1) China is the most booming country for insurance at the moment. So, it is selected for discussing about the most difficult problem in modern finance---specialist problem. A structural approach is devised in this thesis to solve such problem. The solution can be generalized to all countries. (2) As many people argue about that modern finance is inapplicable to emerging market, such as China, especially when there are capital account and currency controls, the bond market of China is selected to provide evidence that modern finance is applicable to emerging market even both the capital account and the currency of the country are controlled by the government. (3) The last part of this thesis provides a breakthrough solution to price insurer default option, an embedded option, in insurance company using observable credit default swap price, as the traditional approach needs statistical assumption that is subjective. / Li, Wing Ping Desmond. / Adviser: Frank Youhua Chen. / Source: Dissertation Abstracts International, Volume: 70-06, Section: A, page: 2169. / Thesis (Ph.D.)--Chinese University of Hong Kong, 2008. / Includes bibliographical references (leaves 64-65). / Electronic reproduction. (Management Control System, hereinafter referred to as MCS) . The scope of the MCS is not conclusive, it consists of management accounting and other control methods. This study adopts Simons¡¦s Diagnostic Control Systems and Interactive Control Systems as a yardstick, and the indicators of the financial and business performance are collected from Taiwan Insurance Institute. (2) Both Non-life Insurance Industry under Financial and Non-financial Holding Company have Strategic Alliances in marketing . (3) Only Non-life Insurance Industry under Financial Holding Company could take the advantage of the joint-marketing in the distribution channel of a bank. (4) Non-life Insurance Industry under Non-financial Holding Company tends to have better business performance when using Interactive Control Systems . Therefore, the study suggests that when Non-life Insurance Industry under Non-financial Holding Company tries to design the control system of an organization, it is better to use the Interactive Control System to help the performance of a company.

Valuation Of Life Insurance Contracts Using Stochastic Mortality Rate And Risk Process Modeling

Cetinkaya, Sirzat 01 February 2007 (has links) (PDF)
In life insurance contracts, actuaries generally value premiums using deterministic mortality rates and interest rates. They have ignored them stochastically in most of the studies. However it is known that neither interest rates nor mortality rates are constant. It is also known that companies may encounter insolvency problems such as ruin, so the ruin probability need to be added to the valuation of the life insurance contracts process. Insurance companies should model their surplus processes to price some types of life insurance contracts and to see risk position. In this study, mortality rates and surplus processes are modeled and financial strength of companies are utilized when pricing life insurance contracts.

Life after death : The diffusion of Swedish life insurance - Dynamics of financial and social modernization 1830-1950

Eriksson, Liselotte January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this thesis is to understand the diffusion process of Swedish life insurance during the period c. 1830-1950, with the specific aim to understand financial modernization and social mobilization as reflected in the diffusion of life insurance to less well-to-do classes and women. In contrast to British and American experiences, the results of this thesis show that the rural classes played an important role in the diffusion of Swedish life insurance. The thesis shows that demand-side factors such as income and urbanisation cannot fully explain this diffusion of life insurance, and why additionally, non-quantitative factors need to be addressed. It is shown how cultural preferences assist in understanding the development of industrial life insurance in different countries. It is also stressed that women, in their capacity as policyholders, beneficiaries of life policies, as dependents, and their limited property rights, constituted the conditions under which the life insurance industry had to adjust and operate. In sum, female policyholders, cultural representations of women and legal constraints on women, constituted an important subset of the 'rules of the game' for the life insurance industry. Important results of the thesis are that female policyholders constituted a large part of the policyholders in the largest industrial life insurance company already in the early twentieth century. It is furthermore shown that life insurance representatives were members in organizations of the women's movement and that they acted for married women's property rights in parliament. It is also argued that different notions of 'a good death', as reflected in funeral practices, contributed to different developments of private and public insurance in Sweden and the United States. By widening the concept of 'business' and recognizing the cultural and social contexts under which the industry operated, this thesis highlights the interaction between business and social change. / "Den enskildes risk och det gemensamma åtagandet" Jan Wallanders och Tom Hedelius Stiftelse Tore Browaldhs stiftelse
