Vavroušková, Radka January 2016 (has links)
The change of the political and economic system, started by the Velvet Revolution in 1989, meant also a change of society, consisting in a change of lifestyle, life attitudes, values and behavior of individuals. The essential theme of this thesis is the change of everyday life in response to the change of social system in the selected area, specifically in Teplice in northwest Bohemia. The thesis compares selected aspects of everyday life in two periods separated by the Velvet Revolution - normalization and post-revolutionary period. The research method is oral history which offers an insight into the lives of "ordinary people." Prezentace novináře v normalizační filmové tvorbě / Presentation of a journalist in film production of normalization

Novotná, Petra January 2014 (has links)
The roles of journalists in motion pictures are diverse and they are to be found amongst leading or supporting characters as well as amongst heroes or villains. Journalists also appear in different film genres from sci-fi movies to musicals. In my diploma thesis I analyse how the makers of the films in normalisation presented journalists. Whether they used them as leading or supporting characters or whether they showed them as heroes or villains. In my thesis I am aiming to describe the type of journalists which appeared in the film production in normalisation in Czechoslovakia.

Komunistická strana Československa v období tzv. normalizace / Czechoslovak Communist Party in the Period of "Normalisation"

Štefek, Martin January 2017 (has links)
The dissertation analyses the dynamics of the non-democratic Czechoslovak regime during the era of so-called "normalisation". Methodologically, this is a "heuristic case study", an inductive inquiry oriented on finding a new hypothesis, focused on theory building, not theory confirming. Conceptually, it follows a "pluralistic" framework, primarily using Skilling's typology of Soviet-type authoritarianism. The aim of this thesis is to answer the following question: "What mechanism in the Soviet-type authoritarian structure had to change to induce "pluralization" of the regime?" The dissertation is divided into three parts: First, I present a description of an intellectual context of the emergence of "pluralism" in the field of so called "Sovietology". Notably, I focus on the preconditions of the "rise and fall" of totalitarian theory. Employing the "building-block technique", I consider "consultative authoritarianism" in the GDR to formulate a preliminary hypothesis on the connection between degrees of pluralism and the way leaders of the Party exercised cadre policy. The second section, derived from archival research, primarily concentrates on exploring the changes in the nomenklatura system in 1960s and early 1970s. In the third, concluding section, I formulate new hypothesis and present an explanatory...

Obraz české společnosti v normalizačních komediích Petra Schulhoffa / The Portrayal of Czech Society in Petr Schulhoff's Film Comedies of the Normalization Era

Šrajer, Martin January 2014 (has links)
Submitted thesis The Portrayal of Czech Society in Petr Schulhoff's Film Comedies of the Normalization Era analyses the cinematography of the Czechoslovak Republic in the seventies and the eighties through the topic of social a ideological values which they present. Its primary concern is the question what are selected movies saying about Czechoslovak social reality of that time and which instruments of semiotic mediations are used for this purpose. The main assumption of the work is that also escapist entertainment described the era, setting and characters according to norms dictated by the communist government and thus help to stabilize the system.

Kritická diskurzivní analýza televizního seriálu Okres na severu / Critical discursive analysis television series Okres na severu

Szabó, Daniel January 2011 (has links)
This work is dedicated to exploring television series Okres na severu written by Jaroslav Dietl and directed by Evžen Sokolovský. The series was filmed in 1980 in the Czechoslovak television and falls into the normalization period (1968-1989) in Czechoslovakia. The aim of this study was to conduct a critical discourse analysis (CDA) of series Okres na severu, with special emphasis on the political power of Communism (Marxist-Leninist ideology) and its use of propaganda through the mass media (television). The text analyzed the discourse of the concept of a propaganda series and tried to answer the question of to what extent and whether the strip Okres na severu is a part of the propaganda. The main concept of this text was a discourse that we can define as a set of codes and rules used in producing the meanings related to any topic. Fairclough concept of critical discourse was chosen for its clear division of the so-called three-dimensional discourse (the text, discursive practice and social practice), which focuses on the interconnection of all three relationships (communication events) and the rules of discourse to explore the relationship to society and social conditions. We address the exploration of the concept of normalization, which is used for the second half (1968-1989) of the existence of the...

Vytěžování textu z fotografií / Optical Character Recognition at Camera Captured Images

Kindermann, Hubert January 2014 (has links)
We present solution of steps necessary for binarization and text lines detection contained in printed documents digitized by the camera. We introduce a normalization of non-uniform illumination method for text photographs. We propose input bitmap binarization algorithm based on two-dimensional probability pixel model which also considers its surrounding. We continue with description of robust text lines orientation detector based on optimization of risk function using first order derivatives of image function. In the end we present text lines detection and segmentation algorithm. Final shape of segmented lines is optimized with usage of graph algorithm. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Recenze na československé televizní seriály v týdeníku Tvorba v období normalizačních 70. a 80. let / Reviews of czechoslovak TV series in the weekly Tvorba during the 1970's

Hliňáková, Kristýna January 2015 (has links)
This diploma thesis primarily deals with the reviews of Czechoslovak television series in the weekly print Tvorba, central press organ of Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, in the normalisation period of 70's and 80's. In the second place, it also deals with other relevant articles that are somehow related to the television series issues in general. Additionally, it pays attention to formal aspects of the reviews studied in the thesis (language specifics, form, space and development of the television reviews section etc.) The thesis is divided into two main parts: theoretical and analytical. The theoretical part brings information about the cultural-political weekly print Tvorba, it outlines social and historical context of the period traditionally called normalisation and last but not least gives theoretical background about the phenomenon of Czechoslovak television series. The analytical part works directly with the reviews found and also other relevant articles from Tvorba. On the basis of these particular reviews and articles, the main aim is to describe ideas and opinions of cultural editors and reviewers on the form, art rendering and role of television series as a specific genre of television production and, at the same time, to bring an overview of what aspects were on the reviewed series...

Ženská témata v normalizačních seriálech Jaroslava Dietla / Women's issues in Jaroslav Dietl's normalization series: narrative analysis

Nouzová, Pavlína January 2015 (has links)
The goal of this study was to find out how TV series from the normalization era written by Jaroslav Dietl showed women and their issues. I focused on the 70's and 80's TV series, whose stories take place at the time when they were made. First, I set ten model situations based on the professional literature. Then I applied them on selected female characters from the chosen series and determined whether these model situations were used (heroine was not displayed stereotypically) or not (heroine was displayed stereotypically). I applied a similar system on ten films from the normalization era to compare the characters with each other, to compare Dietl's TV series with each other and to compare his work with other works. I found out that Jaroslav Dietl fulfilled the stereotypes about women at that time, but only to some extent. Ratio of female characters beyond stereotypes to stereotype characters was 26:34 (rounded 0.76). He also used very often a character of a submisive woman who is usually displayed in her home with her family. Another finding is that Dietl's work offers several distinctive heroines, namely Alžběta Čeňková, Dana Králová (both from TV series Nemocnice na kraji města) and Ivana Pešková (TV series Inženýrská odysea). Nemocnice na kraji města is also the only case which displays more...
