För att kunna hänga med i byggbranschen utveckling gäller det att vara konkurrenskraf- tig. Många byggherrar strävar efter korta byggtider som ibland kan vara väldigt svåra att uppnå. För att kunna uppnå korta byggtider gäller det att hitta smarta lösningar och ett bra produktionssätt som i slutändan ger ett bra resultat. Kortare byggtider bidrar i sin tur till lägre omkostnader för entreprenörerna. Något som är sällsynt i dagens byggbransch är en förlängd arbetstidsförläggning, detta är något oprövat i Örebro. I dagsläget öppnas en byggarbetsplats cirka 07.00 och stänger igen för dagen klockan 16.00, måndag till fredag. Efter 16.00 står byggandet stilla. Detta bidrar till ett ineffektivt användande av de omkostnader som finns på en byggar- betsplats. Genom att förlänga den nuvarande arbetstidsförläggningen med ett fåtal tim- mar per dag kan det förhoppningsvis bidra till att omkostnader och även antalet bygg- dagar minskar. I dagsläget ser yrkesarbetarna på PEAB negativt på en förlängd arbetstidsförläggning. Enligt PEAB beror detta på att de inte förstår sin position affärsmässigt inom företaget. PEAB hävdar att yrkesarbetarnas ”tillsvidare anställning” inte är en särskild trygg an- ställning. De menar att enda sättet för att få en trygg anställning är att PEAB i samarbete med sina medarbetare kan ro hem nya jobb och leverera resultat ihop. Frågan är då hur PEAB ska kunna urskilja sig från alla andra byggföretag och få en konkurrensfördel. Enligt Fredrik Ahl, arbetschef på PEAB, är lösningen en förlängd arbetstidsförläggning. Denna rapport syftar till att undersöka hur en förändring i den nuvarande arbetstidsför- läggningen kommer att påverka omkostnaderna på en byggarbetsplats. In the current situation construction workers in PEAB se an extended working time negatively. According to PEAB this is because they do not understand their position in a business way within the company. PEAB argue that construction workers "permanent employment" is not a particularly secure employment. They argue that the only way to get a secure job is to PEAB in partnership with their employees can go get new jobs and deliver results together with their workers.
