This thesis describes the hospital information system (HIS) CLINICOM, focusing on the department of radiology. It analyses the problems linked with Internet transport of patient image documentation and it provides instructions how to create remote access interface on the department of radiology. It gives also a detailed guide describing installation and components configuration of HIS CLINICOM.

Tato práce popisuje vznik obrazu v transmisním světelném mikroskopu s proměnnou aperturou kondenzoru. Tento způsob pořizování obrazu je výhodný při pozorování tlustých vzorků, což jsou objekty, u kterých je v mikroskopickém měřítku významná výška. Klasické transmisní mikroskopy pro tento výzkum vhodné nejsou, protože výsledný obraz, který produkují, obsahuje patrné informace z velkého objemu vzorku mimo oblast, která je vyšetřovaná. Tento problém byl vyřešen po vynálezu konfokálního mikroskopu, který je ovšem daleko dražší a má i některé nevýhody navíc. Cílem je zpracovat obrazy pořízené pomocí kondenzoru s rotující aperturou tak, aby došlo k redukci podílu nežádoucí informace a obraz se tak stal "čistším". Tato metoda zpracování obrazu nemohla být použita v minulosti, protože tehdejší počítače neměly dostatečnou paměť a výkon. Na tuto metodu se dá nahlížet jako na převod množiny výstupů z mikroskopu s vylepšenou osvětlovací soustavou na odpovídající množinu výstupů konfokálního mikroskopu.

The purpose of this diploma thesis is an evaluation of die-castings porosity, eventually the evaluation of seats with local squeeze in connection with their mechanical and structural properties. The swatches of alloy AISi9Cu3 were taken from the engine block made by Škoda Auto Company, Mladá Boleslav. To the evaluation and the comparison of the results there were used value of porosity with own measure and other student´s thesis of Brno University of technology. Sets of mechanical and structural properties were selected, evaluated and tested by statistical programs.

The airborne hyperspectral remote sensing is used as an approach to monitor and analyse actual state of environmental components. This thesis deals with hyperspectral image data, especially it is focused on normalization with respect to scanning angle. The thesis proposes specific algorithm, which is based on the statistical analysis of spectral lines across the scan line and on a physical models describing the process of spectral reflectance. An important part of this thesis is software implementation of proposed algorithm, that allows to calculate required normalization for real datasets.

Within the dissertation thesis “Study of Biological Material Attributes by Using Image Analysis Methods”, attention is focused on monitoring of the application of image analysis methods, mostly a fractal analysis, in studying the properties of various yeast species. The thesis includes determining the number of yeast cells and vegetative propagation of yeast using fractal parameters – fractal measure D and fractal dimension K. Attention is also paid not only to the application of the existing image analysis methods, but also to their renovation. The obtained images were evaluated using the box counting method specified by implementation of wavelet transformation. To monitor yeast cells for a longer time, it was first necessary to prepare a suitable microscopic preparation. To distinguish live and dead cells, the following fluorescent dyes were used: acridine orange, fluorescein diacetate, FUN-1, and Calcofluor White M2R. The images of yeast cells were recorded using a still camera or a CCD camera and microscope. Clips of the same size were obtained from the acquired digital photographs and processed by the HarFA program developed at the Faculty of Chemistry, Brno University of Technology. On the results it is possible to see a change in the fractal dimension depending on time, i.e. on the change of a budding cell structure, or to determine the number and radius of yeast cells upon predefined conditions.

The master´s thesis deals with the study of optical properties of thin transparent layers on the organic materials (PPV, P3HT, TiO2, DPP) and especially with the determination of dispersion dependences of refractive index of prepared thin layers. In the theoretical part there are described principles of deposition thin layers of the analyzed materials and their properties. In addition, there are also described methods of optical properties measurements (optical and interference microscopy and ellipsometry). The combination of interference microscope with digital camera was used for determination of refractive index. The image analysis was used for the determination of parameters (with help of the software HarFA). The images of thin layers surfaces were analyzed from the side of the metal contact as well as from the side of glass. In conclusion, there are presented results of the refractive index of the thin layers obtained from the measured values.

During operational conditions of internal combustion turbines of turbojet engines, the impeller are stressed by load cycles which vary in time, temperature and stress. In the course of operation, the blades are exposed to a considerable number of degradation effects, particularly high-temperature corrosion, fatigue processes and creep. The presented work is aimed at the study of the structure cast nickel-base superalloy INCONEL 713 LC, creep tests exposured. The structural changes (degradation) was clasification by the help of image analyses. Operational conditions of heat parts, used in gas turbines and turbo-compressors, were simulated by creep tests of Inconel 713 LC nickel superalloy during a constant load of temperatures ranging from 750 up to 950°C. Changes in the structure dependent upon time, temperature and stress applied were analysed by means of light and electron microscopy methods and image analyses after the fracture of test bars.

This thesis deals with the media representation of president Muhammad Morsi in five Egyptian newspapers. The main goal is to find out what kind of image these periodicals create and in what ways these images differ from each other. The research method used is qualitative content analysis and image analysis that examines articles, photographs and cartoons related in some way to president Morsi. Examined period is six weeks after the official announcement of the results of the presidential elections, i.e. from 25th June to 5th August 2012. The thesis consists of three parts. In the first theoretical part, the reader is introduced to the media concepts which represent the basic frame of the research. This section also contains the outline of the political development in Egypt with an emphasis on the changes in 2011 and 2012. Furthermore, it describes the life of the new president and the development of Egyptian press. Finally, the first section includes short description of the five examined newspapers. The second part describes the research methodology including the research sample, questions and hypothesis. The last part presents and interprets the results of the analysis and comes to a final conclusion of this thesis.

In the area of image recognition, the so-called deep neural networks belong to the most promising models these days. They often achieve considerably better results than traditional techniques even without the necessity of any excessive task-oriented preprocessing. This thesis is devoted to the study and analysis of three basic variants of deep neural networks-namely the neocognitron, convolutional neural networks, and deep belief networks. Based on extensive testing of the described models on the standard task of handwritten digit recognition, the convolutional neural networks seem to be most suitable for the recognition of general image data. Therefore, we have used them also to classify images from two very large data sets-CIFAR-10 and ImageNet. The master thesis deals with the development and display of advertisement for medicine and health- related products and services in Czech women's magazines. We compare here two periods - The First Czechoslovak Republic and present. It focuses primarily on these following questions: Does the display of health-related products have changed? Do we still advertise products of the similar character? Has the ideal of heath changed and things which were believed healthy in the past, are not considered healthy anymore? Is the difference related to historical events or rather related to the current state of society and its preferences? The main titles for analysis were Eva: A journal of modern women from the 1930s, which was published by Melantrich and current lifestyle magazine Elle, which is published by Hubert Burda Media. The theoretical part summarizes current basic knowledge about press, advertising, healthcare. In the practical part are more closely introduced the research methods - content and image analysis and also the process of analysis and the comparison by itself. An integral part of the thesis is the attached advertisements, on which the analysis was based, and which serve for better illustration of the above-mentioned phenomena.
