The theoretical part of the thesis offers a comprehensive view on the issue of therapeutic gardens and hortitherapy. It addresses the development of therapeutic gardens in Slovakia and abroad, and defines their basic types. Therapeutic gardens for child patients represent the core of the work. Drawing from bibliographical sources, the thesis defines construction principles for these gardens. The methodology contains a detailed analysis of the current state of the model object in graphical and text form. The author presents a comprehensive proposal for the solution of an area of the model object and related rehabilitation garden for a child patient with cerebral palsy which is contained in the detailed examination of the idea. The proposal is expressed in floor plan, sections and spatial display. The proposed solution is an outcome of the use of gardens for the construction of therapeutic gardens that draws from the author's own design experience and medical advice by doctors specialising in physiotherapy and balneology. The proposal presents a space for social and physical rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy. It utilises the potential of the area where the model object is based.

Využití virtuální reality v terapii dětí s dětskou mozkovou obrnou: review a syntéza / Using Virtual Reality as a Therapeutic Modality for Children with Cerebral Palsy: a Review and Synthesis

Smolová, Petra January 2014 (has links)
Title: Using Virtual Reality as a Therapeutic Modality for Children with Cerebral Palsy: a Review and Synthesis Author: Bc. Petra Smolová Grammar correction: Jan Valeška Background: Cerebral palsy is often referred to as an" umbrella term" denoting a group of non-progressive conditions involving primarily a disorder of voluntary movement and/or co-ordination. A functional impairment is more important than diagnosis itself, due to the lifelong type of the disease. Therapy in children suffering from CP is nowadays based on individual movement therapy within a whole complex of rehabilitation programmes. The first line of treatment is building up an interdisciplinary team of professionals, led by paediatrics neurologist or neurologist who is pursuing rehabilitation. Physical therapist should always choose an eclectic approach, knowing only too well the reasons why. Virtual reality as a therapeutic modality is standing besides classic methods according to various authors, as we know from schools and different courses. However, this kind of treatment is novel, its results are greatly promising based on current research. Aim: The purpose of this thesis is to outline the use of virtual reality as a method of therapy in children with cerebral palsy in the main functional conditions - motor control, upper...

Vliv přetrvájících primitivních reflexů na psychomotorický vývoj dětí s mozkovou obrnou / influence of persistent primitive reflexes of psychomotor development in children with cerebral palsy

Liscová, Irena January 2019 (has links)
The diploma thesis is focused on psychomotor development in children with cerebral palsy in context of persisting primitive reflexes. Opening chapters summarize theoretical knowledge about cerebral palsy, its etiology, clinical picture, forms and comprehensive diagnostics, including special education. The next part of the thesis focuses on psychomotor development of a child with cerebral palsy, in particular the gross and fine motor activity development and speech development. The main section of the thesis discusses the neurophysiological principles of primitive reflexes and their relevance for early development of a child. The primitive reflexes, one by one, as well as the influence of their persistence on the psychomotor development of the child with cerebral palsy and options of their integration by selected therapeutic concepts are presented. Attention is also paid to the importance of multidisciplinary cooperation of medical rehabilitation and special pedagogical care in the field of primitive reflexology. The practical part is based on qualitative methodology ad its operates with data gained from three case studies. The aim of the diploma thesis is to examine by means of case studies whether or not the integration of primitive reflexes demonstrably improves the psychomotor skills, behavior,...

Přenosná dětská obrna a současné problémy její eradikace / Poliomyelitis and contemporary issues of its eradication

PETRÁŇOVÁ, Monika January 2016 (has links)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the eradication of infectious polio and its current problems. Polio is a highly infectious disease of viral origin. The most effective form of protection from the disease is vaccination. The main aim of this work was to determine the major issues in polio surveillance in the Pilsen region at present. Intermediate goals were determined in relation to the main aim: to ascertain the awareness of practicing paediatricians about the principles of poliomyelitis surveillance with an emphasis on diagnosing and reporting cases of acute palsy and further to ascertain the quality of the cooperation between the locally competent public health authority and practicing paediatricians in the field of poliomyelitis surveillance. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The practical part was elaborated using a qualitative method based on semi-structured interviews with practicing paediatricians and with the locally competent public health authority. The research was participated in by 9 practicing paediatricians and one public health authority worker from the Pilsen region, with an average length of practice of 20 years. The resulting data was then evaluated by a coding method and divided into schemes according to Švaříček and Šeďová (2007). Three research questions were defined based on the set aims: RQ1: What do practising paediatricians see as the prime problems in polio surveillance? RQ2: How many cases of acute palsy do practising paediatricians record and subsequently report to the competent public health authority? RQ3: What is the quality of the cooperation between practising paediatricians and the locally competent public health authority? The research revealed that, according to the practising paediatricians, the problem in poliomyelitis surveillance is refusal of the vaccination and the associated decreasing immunisation coverage of the population. The next most commonly reported problem was population migration. Furthermore, it was found that not one practising paediatrician recorded or reported cases of acute palsy in their surgery. Only one respondent encountered acute palsy 10 years ago. The answer to the last research question is also apparent from the information obtained. More than half of the respondents agreed that so far there is no cooperation on this issue. Although four respondents stated that the cooperation is at a high level and is of very good quality.

GMFM u pacientů indikovaných k selektivní dorsální rhizotomii / Gross motor function measure in patients diagnosed for the selected dorsal rhizotomy

Matušková, Věra January 2007 (has links)
The aim of this master thesis is to evaluate the effect of selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) on gross motor functions in children with spastic cerebral palsy with Gross Motor Function Measure (GMFM). I had also collected knowlegdes about SDR and GMFM. I investigated four children undergoing selective dorsal rhizotomy in the Czech republic and I took data from 16 foreign studies to discuss it and to compare the results and conclusions. I tried to identify the factors responsible for different outcomes of the studies. Powered by TCPDF (www.tcpdf.org)

Narušená komunikační schopnost u osob s mozkovou obrnou a její vliv na komunikaci a socializaci jedince / Communication disability in patients with cerebral palsy and it's effect on communication and socialization of the individuals

Hálová, Barbora January 2021 (has links)
This Master's thesis explores how developmental dysarthria and communication disability effect the socialization and communication abilities of people with cerebral palsy. The thesis is divided into two primary sections: theoretical and empirical. The theoretical part is divided into four sections (cerebral palsy, disrupted communication abilities in people with cerebral palsy, dysarthria, communication and socialization in people with cerebral palsy). The next part of the work presents the analysis of dysarthria and disrupted communication abilities effect of the socialization and communication abilities in people with cerebral palsy. The empirical section is based on original research, primarily employing qualitative methods, namely semi-structured interviews. I interviewed six individuals all of whom are affected by cerebral palsy and developmental dysarthria. Research goals included how disrupted communication skills, known as developmental dysarthria, affect the individuals' communication and socialization skills, how it affects them in daily situations, what the main hallmarks of these situations are, what these situations have in common and how developmental dysarthria affects the individuals' motivation towards socializing. The results showed that the degree to which disrupted...

Posouzení faktorů ovlivňujících výkon chůze u pacientů s dětskou mozkovou obrnou / Assessment of factors affecting gait performance in patients with cerebral palsy

Nejezchleba, Josef January 2021 (has links)
Gaits is one of the most important factors affecting the quality of life and ability to self- care. This thesis assesses the effect of central movement control disorders to the walking abilities in youth patiens with cerebral palsy (CP). The theoretical part describes alterations of neuromotor system developmental and muscle characteristics in children with CP and explains the phenomenon of joint stiffness. Theoretical part also presents standardized functional tests to determine the severity of disability and provides information on increased energy intensity of walking in patients with CP. The practical part assesses the effect of central motor control disorders, muscle strength and energy expenditure of movement on the walking abilities in CP patients.
