The main grass species used as ornamental plants are described in thesis Pathogenes of ornamental grasses. Treatment of the botanical characteristics is provided, with emphasis on their horticultural usage, along with the classification, disorders, damages and diseases of ornamental grasses. The practical part consists of a survey of presence of pathogens on two perennial grass lawns in the Botanical Garden and Arboretum of Mendel University. Included are the description of damages and symptoms of diseases, determination of pathogens and photographic documentation. The work concludes with recommendations for cure.

The thesis examining food varieties of opium poppy, should find such variety that would put to use in decorative horticulture and floristry. The attempt took place during 3-8 / 2014 Opava in the Czech Republic at the Research Institute of Oilseed Crops Opava, using a national program of conservation and use of plant genetic resources and agricultural biodiversity. The target was met on the theoretical and 8 existing varieties, it is possible to use in practice. It would certainly be put to use a larger number of interesting varieties, but beneficial to use a variety of combinations of positive properties.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the influence of special fertilizers on the quality of nursery plants. The experiment was carried out in 2014 and lasted for one growing season. As a model wood was used kind of Weigela florida (Bunge) A. DC. 'Eva Rathke'. An attempt was made up of five different variants of fertilizers for the basic fertilization substrate and fertilization during vegetation. The influence of fertilizers Multicote, Osmocote, Polyon and Multicote in combination with fertilizer Vitality Complex. Control variant was fertilizing fertilizer YaraMila Complex. Best results showed the control variant. Among CRF fertilizers were tested (with some exceptions) in the monitored parameters statistically significant differences.

This diploma thesis deals with the influence of mycorrhizal preparations in the reproduction of ornamental trees and their recommendations for the production in growing nurseries. Two species of shrubs were chosen for the experimental part, Deutzia gracilis 'Nikko' and Weigela florida 'Piccolo'. The shrubs were propagated by herbal cuttings. The experiment took place in 2018 on the site of the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice. After laboratory evaluation, the root colonization by arbuscular fungi has been demonstrated. The degree of colonization has not reached high levels, but we have seen their gradual increase. From the results it is noticeable that the preparations used did not influence the development of adventitious roots and the vitality of cuttings so it is not possible to label it as effective and recommending for the production in growing nurseries. It should be noted that the duration of this experiment was only one year.
