Arbetet är ett examensarbete i högskoleingenjörsutbildningen, inriktning datateknik, på Linnéuniversitet. Växjö kommun är just nu mitt i ett nytt projekt för att sammanställa hela IT-organisationen för att göra servicen för anställda och medborgare bättre. Detta projekt kallas ”Ett IT” och ska sammaställa IT-organisationen till fyra huvudavdelningar. Dessa avdelningar är Servicedesk, Service, System och Utveckling. I samband med dessa förändringar har önskemålet om ett enklare sätt att söka efter personer inom IT-organisationen kommit upp. Idag kan man hitta information om anställda i flera olika program. Målet är att genom en applikation kunna gå in och söka efter en person och hitta allt ifrån telefonnummer till status (ex. På möte, på semester). Detta på ett och samma ställe för att göra det enklare för både anställda och utomstående att hitta en person. Resultatet av detta examensarbete har lett till en fungerande applikation som vi kallar för PeopleFinder och är skapad i Silverlight där man kan söka efter personer, se namn, bild, kontaktuppgifter, plats på kartan och plats i kommunhuset, och en del övriga uppgifter som kan vara av intresse. Detta har utvecklats efter IT-chefens och andra inblandade från IT-avdelningens önskemål och presenterades till slut för hela Växjö Kommuns IT-organisation. / This abstract describes the Bachelor of Science in engineering thesis for computer science at Linnaeus University. Växjö municipality are at the moment in the middle of a new project where they are trying to gather the entire IT-organization into one to make the service for the employees and the citizens better. This project is called “one IT” and will gather the IT-organization into four main departments; Servicedesk, Service, System and Development. Because of these changes there has been a request for an easier way to search for information about people within the IT-organization. Today you can find information about the employees in several different programs and the goal is to create an application where you can find all the wanted information like phone number, area of competence, status (at a meeting, at vacation) etc. at one place. The result of our examination thesis is a working application which we call PeopleFinder and are created in Silverlight where you can search for people, see a picture, name, contacts, location (geographically and where their office is in the building) and some other information that might be of interest. This has been developed after the requests of the IT-manager and other involved from the IT-organization, and was finally presented to the entire IT-organization.
