The Management Tactics for the Influence Tactics of Perceptions of Organization Politics

The purpose of this research is to examine the influence factors of perceptions of organization politics. Based on the model proposed by Ferris et al.,(1989), the influence factors of perceptions of organizational politics are personal influences,work environment influences,organizational influences . After applying ¡§factor analysis¡¨ of the POPs, it was categorized by three dimensions analysis: ¡§(1) behaviors of superior and subordinate; (2) go along and get ahead; (3) difference between the policies of compensation and promotion and actual practices. This research is to explore the relationship between influence factors and perceptions of organization politics. The sample consisted of 2,559 employees selected from 35 diverse organizations. The data was analyzed by statistical methods are descriptive statistic¡Bfactor analysis¡Breliability analysis¡B correlation analysis and regression analysis. The major findings of this study are as fallow: Perceptions of organizational politics were found have significant relevant with A type personality, Machiavellians and Internal/External lacus of control. Perceptions of organizational politics were found have significant relevant with promotion opportunity & interactive behavior of working environment factor. Perceptions of organizational politics were found have significant relevant with organizational profession, organizational democracy and position hierarchical level of organizational factor. This research provide the management tactics toward the result of empirical analysis.

The Relationship between Perceptions of Organization Politics and Job Performance¡GThe Mediating Effects of Job Satisfaction¡BJob Stress and Organizational Commitment

The major purpose of this research is to use three mental factors of job satisfaction¡Bjob stress and organizational commitment for examining the existence of mediating effects in between perceptions of organization politics and job performance. Reviewing many articles in the field of organizational behavior, the interior employees¡¦ job performance were mostly contributed to individual differences as capabilities and personalities, however, such variables could only explain partial differences in job performance. Except of individuals, the influence on job performance may include organizational structure, management system even though various outside or other factors. Witt found negative relationship between perceptions of organization politics and job performance in 1998, such finding broke the researchers¡¦ limits of traditional view of combining individual capabilities or characters, searched out the new influence factor, and added new explanation of variables on job performance of organization interior employees. In the field of perceptions of organization politics, researchers kept focus on the definition of perceptions of organization politics and the relation among variables, less development in mediating effects. Therefore, this research was structured by aforesaid and Adkins¡¦s definition in 1995 as well as relevant articles, the three pertaining to psychological level variables, job satisfaction¡Bjob stress and organizational commitment, have mediating effects between perceptions of organization politics and job performance. By finding the influence factor, for reducing the negative effects on job performance caused by perceptions of organization politics, hopping go further of submitting strategic human resource management to boost contribution on organizational performance This research was proceeded by questionnaire to the sampling objects of Taiwan enterprises. The results indicated job satisfaction¡Bjob stress and organization commitment have partial significant mediating effect on the relationship between job performance and¡¥Distance of policy and practice¡¦, the format of perceptions of organization politics.

The Influence of Culture in the International Business Decision-making Process

Organizational culture and organisational political behaviours are the unavoidable part of a company which has a direct impact on its decision making. The purpose of this paper aims to understand the influence of culture and organisational political behaviour in making a decision on going internationalisation of the Chinese company. Through reviewing the cultural literature, the researcher found the interrelation between culture and political behaviour in an organization. The authors then focus on three factors of political behaviour – investment, alternatives and trust – to study their influence in the decision-making process. We used qualitative research approach under which we made in-depth interview to collect the empirical data. These empirical data were analysed using content analysis method. Our findings show that both organisational culture and organisational political behaviour have a direct influence on the decision making of the company. Specifically, political factors like investment, alternatives and trust influence in the decision making of a company. The firm should consider those factors seriously to have a positive influence in its decision-making process.

The Influence of Perceptions of Organizational Politics on Organizational Commitment---- An Experimental analysis of one University.

Abstract Results of analyses conducted on data collected from 313 employees of one University. The results of this research indicate as follows: Dimensionality of Organizational Politics Perceptions The responses to the 32-items Perceptions of Organizational Politics Scale (POPS) were subjected to principal components analysis with Varimax rotation. A four-factor solution was found to be most interpretable, with loadings of .50 and above used as an item retention criterion, resulting in a total of 16 items being retained across the four tactical importances. It is comprised four subscales: (1) Supervisor Behavior, (2) General Politics Behavior, (3) Organization Policies and Practices, and (4) Coworker & Clique Behavior. Relationships between Demographic Variables and Perceptions of Organizational Politics 1. Female¡¦s ¡§Supervisor Behavior¡¨ consciousness is stronger than male, and male¡¦s ¡§Coworker & Clique Behavior¡¨ consciousness is greater than female. 2. Subordinate¡¦s ¡§Organization Policies and Practices¡¨ consciousness is stronger than executives or above. 3. Regular staff members¡¦ ¡§Coworker & Clique Behavior¡¨ consciousness is much than non-regular staff members. 4. The University public servants¡¦ ¡§Supervisor Behavior¡¨ consciousness is much stronger than instructors. 5. Bachelor¡¦s level of education¡¦s ¡§Organization Policies and Practices¡¨ consciousness is greater than Mater¡¦s level of education or above. Relationships between Perceptions of Organizational Politics and Organizational Commitment 1. Organizational Politics was negatively related absolutely to¡¨ Retention Commitment¡¨. 2. Organizational Politics was negatively related partly to ¡§Value Commitment¡¨. 3. Organizational Politics was negatively related t partly to ¡§Effort Commitment¡¨. Control some Demographic Variables, reported special relationships 1. Reported positively correlations between ¡§Supervisor Behavior¡¨ and ¡§Value Commitment¡¨ with executives or above. 2. Reported positively correlations between¡¨ General Politics Behavior¡¨ and ¡¨ Effort Commitment¡¨ with female employees, subordinates and non-regular staff figures.
