Its main purpose is to relate art and environmental education through an interdisciplinary study of an elementary state public school. Aiming to contribute with the environment conscience development through some aspects of the Educating Art , the objective was to develop teaching activities that stimulate the re-use and recycling of paper, producing works that could be utilized as research material in art classes. We start with the hypothesis that it is important for the teaching of arts, activities related to the re-use and recycling of paper, more specifically the paper mâché and paper collés as the means to stimulate paper re-use in its multiple artistic possibilities in order to develop an environmental conscience. In the first place, a bibliographical research was utilized to give theoretical support with authors from multiple disciplines like History of Art, Environmental Education and Education. This research, as contextualized by approaching various art periods, aims to establish the relationships between art, education and environment. We focused on the history of paper and its recycling and the use of paper mâché and papiers collés in the work of artists and artisans that have an ecological concern as well as we seek the understanding of the use of collages in works of art not as an amplification of art, but as a conscience of the reality. A qualitative methodology was employed, more specifically action research, considered a social research based on empirical data in which the research subject and the researcher interact in a participative manner. We conclude that the role of the educator is really important and the educational practices with the re-use and recycling of paper are applicable in schools and through them it is possible to obtain changes in behavior that contribute with the acquisition of knowledge, abilities and attitudes regarding the integration of man and nature. / Inserido na linha de pesquisa História das Culturas e das Artes nas Sociedades Contemporâneas, este trabalho buscou integrar arte e educação ambiental numa proposta interdisciplinar realizada em uma Escola Estadual de Ensino Médio em São Paulo. Objetivando contribuir para o desenvolvimento de uma consciência ambiental por meio do fazer, do lúdico e do sensível em arte-educação, propusemo-nos desenvolver atividades didáticas que fomentassem a reutilização e reciclagem de papel, gerando trabalhos que pudessem ser utilizados como referência de pesquisa em aulas de artes. Partimos do pressuposto de que é importante trabalhar, no ensino de arte, atividades relacionadas ao papel reutilizado e reciclado, mais especificamente o papel machê e papietagem como material de reaproveitamento do papel em suas múltiplas possibilidades no fazer artístico, a fim de contribuir para o desenvolvimento da conscientização ambiental. Para tanto, realizamos pesquisa bibliográfica para fundamentar teoricamente o estudo que teve como base autores que abordam a História da Arte, a Educação Ambiental e a Educação. Buscamos contextualizar este estudo abordando os vários períodos da arte e estabelecer relações entre arte, educação e meio ambiente. Tratamos também da história e reciclagem do papel e da utilização do papel machê e papietagem em obras produzidas por artistas e artesãos que têm uma preocupação ecológica, bem como procuramos entender o uso das colagens em obras de arte, não como ampliação da arte, mas como uma consciência da realidade. Recorremos à metodologia qualitativa, mais especificamente a pesquisa ação, por se tratar de pesquisa social com base empírica na qual os pesquisadores e participantes interagem de modo participativo. Concluímos que o papel do educador em arte é fundamental e as práticas educativas com reutilização e reciclagem de papel são possíveis de aplicabilidade nas escolas e que por meio delas se obtém mudanças de comportamento que contribuem para aquisição de conhecimentos, habilidades e atitudes voltados para a integração homem e natureza.
