This thesis concerning the way to priesthood, the diocesan priests especially, and explores mainly the moment when young men make their decision for the priesthood. This thesis wants to know the role of the Archdiocese of Prague, the priests, the Christian parents and how they can motivate and support them on their life journey towards their profession. The first chapter describes the journey towards the priesthood according to the Church documents. The second chapter is interested in the specific forms of the pastoral work within the Archdiocese of Prague. The Archdiocesan Seminary is mentioned in the third chapter. The last the fourth chapter is concerning the current status of the clergy and priestly ordination within the Archdiocese of Prague. The second, the third and the fourth chapters represent the author's contribution in the form of assessment of the questionnaires. These questionnaires were distributed and used relating the priest calling pastoral work.

The thesis deals with the the attitudes of young Catholics of the Diocese of Ceske Budejovice for learning and practice of the Church. The theoretical part of the work contains an overview of the currents of pastoral theology, the definition of the term pastoral theology, its competence, subject, objectives and methods. It also defines the concept of youth and reflects its pastoral in history and now. The practical part contains research on the attitudes of young Catholics for learning and practice of the Church. Here is an introduction to the research method chosen for this work and the research description. It also includes case and comparative analysis and basic characteristics of individual respondents. The final part of the thesis is the pastoral-theological evaluation of the research.

This work focuses on youth ministry, which implements youth leaders working in selected diocesan centers of youth life (DCŽM). The author defines the basic terms and on the basis of church documents and literature sets pastoral theological and pedagogical principles and criteria youth ministry after the 2nd Vatican Council. These criteria apply and compares with educational and pastoral objectives youth leaders who operate in selected DCŽM. The aim of the employees of each DCŽM is to pass the values of Lived Gospel to match the current changing desires and needs of youth.

The work deals with pastoral care for the non-prisoners in the asylum house of St. Pavel. The theoretical part deals with issues of homelessness, pastoral work in the broader and closer sense of the word, the outlines of the pastoral milion of the church with reference to the Bible, social encyclicals, but fundamentally centering the excerpt of the Second Vatican Council, especially the constitution of Gaudium et Spes. The purpose of the work has to analyze pastoralism as a spiritual master for homeless people visiting the asylum house of St. Pavel. The partial results are focused on the area of personal life, street life and the spiritual life of homeless people visiting the asylum house of St. Pavel. Qualitative research techniques have been applied in the analyses of interwievs with homeless persons.

At my place of work, we are considering the possibility of spiritual service inception within the Czech Republic Police force. One of our models, which we stem from, is the Czech Army Military Chaplaincy. We, therefore, go into the history of its inception and its current activities, at a fairly great length. Furthermore, we have mapped the Czech Republic Police activities, whose character matches the activities of the military chaplains. By comparison and evaluation of the researched information, we will set the possibility and desirability of chaplaincy and spiritual service within the Czech Republic Police. Basic and key information was acquired by study of the literature and of the official internet sources. The additional and clarifying information was acquired through personal discussion and communication with professionals in various related fields.

Presented paper deals with an implementation of salesian pastoral work with at-risk youth in the salesian youth centres in the Czech Republic. It studys how way a youth centre responds to needs of the youth progress. Term "pastoral work" is a starting-point of thesis. Author sees the sense of the term as all Church activities for salvation of the people. The first part of the paper deals with the term "Pastoral", with disadvantages of contemporary children and youth, and with characters of salesian pastoral work. In the folowing part the author presents salesian works, especially youth centres for at- risk youth. A qualitative research is presented in the last part. It is analysis of the interviews with the youthworkers. Finally author evaluates the results of the analysis of the pastoral work in the youth centres. This Master's thesis focuses on the presence and use of remembrance in the context of pastoral care for the elderly within the Evangelical Church of Czech Brethren. The aim of this thesis is to explore various ways, in what specific situations, reminiscence is present and used in the context of pastoral care as well as to identify specific reminiscence tools that are utilized in the process of pastoral care for the elderly. This thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part focuses on explaining the theoretical bases for this thesis by focusing on two main topics: pastoral care for the elderly and reminiscence work, and outlines ways in which both areas are connected. The second part is focused on qualitative research using semi-structured interviews with pastors. This investigation aims to arrive at an answer to the primary reseach question about the role of reminiscence within pastoral care for the elderly.

Research of religiosity, communication strategies of priests and their image in letters in the late 19th and early 20th century. Tomáš W. Pavlíček SUMMARY The author of the Ph.D. thesis examines the religious culture in Bohemia in the late 19th century. Contrary to the concept of secularization and the prevalent opinion about an extraordinary decline of religiosity in the Czech society, he attempts to explain the interdependence of social and religious changes in the modern times. Within the sociological concept of secularization and disenchantment of the world, the author focuses on three phenomena: the vocation of a priest, religious practices and conversion, which he treats as religious concepts and at the same time applies them in historical research. The biggest part of the thesis is devoted to the first object of the research - the attitude of a priest towards his vocation, as the clergy is the agent of religious change. The thesis contributes to the current discussions about the relationship of the church and the state and the role of clergy in the society.
