Ledarskap i en agil verksamhet : En kvalitativ studie om hur ledarskapet påverkas vid en förändring

Åström, Oscar, Landin, Robin January 2012 (has links)
The purpose of this study was to explore and understand how leadership is affected when an organization was undergoing a change to an agile business. The background to the survey is based on the traditional view of leadership as the manager led and distributed work. During the 1950s, changed the perception of management and labor in which employees became more involved in the work process. Starting from this, our research focused on the effects of leadership that occurs when an organization goes from "command and control" to "empowerment". Hence, we will address the following questions: How has the control (across teams) changed for the line manager in the transition from Classic Waterfall to Agile, How has the change affected the line manager's information retrieval to implement IPM-dialogues and How does the change in style of leadership impact the organization when entering an agile organization. We have used a qualitative method in which eight semi-structured interviews were conducted with line managers from two departments to collect the empirical material. The results have indicated that the physical location affects both the control and management style of line managers. Leadership style is also influenced largely by the employees' level of maturity and that the organization is in process of a change.

Genealogy Of

Ozmetin, Yeliz 01 September 2008 (has links) (PDF)
&ldquo / Place&rdquo / is a complex and contested term being exposed to various theorizations and positions in diverse fields. Aiming to get an understanding of what it may contribute to in the discourse of architecture, the thesis firstly offers a framework that helps to depict a genealogy of &ldquo / place&rdquo / through its itinerary in phenomenologically driven human geography where it originated as a conceptual term, and in architecture to which became an important issue of debate and theorization over the relation between building activity and the ground. Conveying an understanding of &ldquo / place&rdquo / as an ethical component in architecture&rsquo / s agenda, the thesis defines architecture as the &ldquo / identification of place&rdquo / , and comes up with ideas for a conceptual framework of &ldquo / gathering&rdquo / insight concerning the physical location/condition, namely &ldquo / place&rdquo / , through the study and understanding of its components, namely &ldquo / reading&rdquo / them. The significance of defining, listening to and interpreting physical location/condition for a more &ldquo / enriched mission of architecture&rdquo / within developing a notion of dialogue is addressed in this thesis.

Finding Social Location Using Bluetooth

Hayat, Umer January 2009 (has links)
From the last few years many location based system have been introduced e.g. facebook, orkut, youtube and my-space etc. These networks are specially developed for personal computers. Some location based systems are also introduced for mobile device e.g. Plazes, MamJam, Slam and Jambo. All these type of networks are using the concept of social location, which provides the platform where people can join or make communities according to their interests. Numbers of users on these networks are increasing day by day due to their popularity. This popularity gives the opportunity for researchers to explore the characteristics of these social networks at large scale. This knowledge will be then used to improve the existing networks or to develop new networks. Already developed systems for mobile devices are using different techniques (e.g. Radio Frequency Identification, GPS, GSM, WAP etc.) to determine the location of any person. In this thesis, I am going to develop a prototype of system that will find the social location of an individual using passive Bluetooth scanning of mobile devices. The main idea behind this prototype is that the data obtained should be flexible to target different social needs and as well as different social location applications. The research will explore some more areas of Bluetooth by extending its dimension in social location system. The expected output from this research will help human being to overcome some of their social problems. Social location obtained from the prototype can be used to fulfill different social needs of human being. Keywords: Social location, Bluetooth, Physical location, GPRS, Mobile applications.

Určení pozice útočníka při pokusu o neoprávněný přístup do operačního systému / Location of attacker attempting unauthorized access to operating system

Pokorný, Josef January 2013 (has links)
My master thesis estimates physical location of potential operating system attacker. It deals with basic methods of attack against operating system: spam and viruses, searching the Internet, port scanning and operating system detection. The thesis disserts about a port scanner Nmap, a port scanning detector Scanlogd and about a system log watch Swatch. The thesis deals with geolocation methods of potential operating system attacker. These geolocation methods are divided into an active and a passive types. The active methods measure delay in the Internet. The passive methods query the database. I mentioned a freely accessible Whois database and MaxMind databases. There is a program developed and practically tested. The program simulates an attacker beginning an attack by scanning ports of target machine. The program works with dataset of real IP addresses. The program also detects the attack against operating system. The real and evaluated location of an attacker is got and then shown in a map. At the end there is a review of results and data comparison with colleagues.
