LSMU Kauno klinikų šeimos medicinos klinikoje dirbančių šeimos gydytojų ir besilankančių pacientų požiūriai į medicininės konsultacijos tikslus ir pacientui skirto laiko panaudojimo veiksmingumą / General practitioners' and outpatients' attitude to aims of medical consultation and to outpatients' given time use effectiveness at clinic of family medicine, luhs Kaunas clinics

Černiauskaitė, Justina 18 June 2014 (has links)
Darbo tikslas. Atskleisti LSMU Kauno klinikų šeimos medicinos klinikoje dirbančių šeimos gydytojų ir besilankančių pacientų požiūrį į gydytojo medicininės konsultacijos tikslus ir pacientui skirto laiko panaudojimą apsilankymo metu.
Uždaviniai: 1.Atskleisti gydytojų ir pacientų požiūrį į medicininės konsultacijos tikslus; 2.Atskleisti gydytojų ir pacientų lūkesčius, susijusius su gydytojų/pacientų elgesiu konsultacijose; 3.Išryškinti pagrindinius veiksmingo gydytojo konsultacijos laiko panaudojimo kliuvinius; 4.Atskleisti ir aptarti šeimos gydytojo konsultacijai skirto laiko panaudojimo optimizavimo galimybes.
Tyrimo metodika. Tyrimo objektas – LSMU Kauno klinikų šeimos medicinos klinikos šeimos gydytojai ir klinikos pacientai. Tyrimas atliktas pagal kokybinio tyrimo metodologiją. Duomenys rinkti naudojant pusiau struktūruoto interviu metodą. Tyrimo analizė atlikta naudojant teminės analizės metodą.
Rezultatai. Parental Perception of Physician Cultural Sensitivity and Adherence to Asthma Treatment

Wright-Jegede, Narue Jaynelle 01 January 2019 (has links)
In the United States, asthma remains a major cause of frequent urgent care visits, hospitalizations, and preventable deaths among children. Nationwide, the chronic disease continues to fall disproportionately on minorities, mostly residing in urban localities. When a child is diagnosed with asthma, the parents are typically tasked with managing the child's condition. Establishing a collaborative partnership between parents and their child's primary physician is significant for improving asthma self-management among youth. Using the theory of reasoned action as a theoretical framework, this mixed-methods study examined whether a relationship exists between parental perceptions of physician cultural sensitivity and parental care in asthma treatment adherence. Phenomenology was used to explore the real-world experiences of study five ethnic minority parents and one guardian grandparent of asthmatic children aged 0–17 who shared similar perspectives. Descriptive surveys were used in combination with in-depth interviews to develop an understanding of parental perceptions on physician cultural sensitivity related to asthma treatment adherence. Overall, 108 minority parents were eligible to complete the survey. The study findings revealed that parents who feel recognized, valued, and respected by their child's physician were more likely to be engaged in shared decision-making about treatment. The findings support the potential for positive social change in terms of modifying the health care behaviors of minority parents with asthmatic children, increasing parental self-efficacy in managing their child's asthma, and improving the cultural sensitivity of physicians who serve the needs of diverse minority families.

Assessment of job satisfaction amongst physicians working in Public hospitals in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Cheru, Tesfaye Gudeta January 2014 (has links)
Magister Public Health - MPH / Introduction The Human Resource Strategic Plan of the Ethiopian Ministry of Health lists current health workforce problems as a high attrition rate among public service physicians, poor human resource management, non-conducive working conditions and high workloads. In Addis Ababa's public hospitals, the turnover of physicians is high and - as repeatedly and informally reported by hospital managers - the presence of the contributory factors listed above are also anecdotally thought to be present. These factors present a serious challenge to the delivery of high quality health care services and their presence indicates that the job satisfaction of physicians is likely to be low. However, factors responsible for job dissatisfaction among physicians and their implications for staff turnover have not been studied or documented in the context of Ethiopia's health system. It was this scenario that motivated the researcher to conduct this study in order to assist policy makers in taking appropriate actions, if and as required. Aim: The aim of the study was to assess the level of job satisfaction, the factors influencing job satisfaction and the consequences of job satisfaction among physicians in public hospitals in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Objectives: • To describe the job satisfaction levels of physicians in public hospitals in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia • To identify factors affecting the job satisfaction levels of physicians • To assess possible consequences linked to physicians' job satisfaction levels. A self-administered questionnaire was used to measure job satisfaction, composed of 65 individual variables grouped within 13 dimensions and adapted to the Ethiopian context from the Job Descriptive Index and the Minnesota Satisfaction Questionnaire. An additional questionnaire was used to assess socio-demographic variables and the possible consequences of low job satisfaction. Analysis: A composite job satisfaction score was obtained by summing the individual answers for each of the variables to assess overall job satisfaction. Bivariate analysis was undertaken, using 2X2 tables (with 95% confidence intervals) to calculate the prevalence ratio for each of the potential causes and consequences of low job satisfaction, using the composite score cut-off levels of job satisfaction. Multivariate analysis was undertaken to obtain the adjusted prevalence odds ratios for both the potential causes and consequences of low job satisfaction, using multiple logistic regression analysis.
