Some specific goals also deserve to be highlighted: across of environment sound, to diagnose the internal and external environments of the selected institution. Literary review will be complemented by field research in this paper. Interviews have been applied to management staff, as well as questionnaires to teachers, students and college community employees in the very institution, characterizing the field research, which is a case study. The size of the sample obtained adds up to 1,152 observations, as follow: 06 managers, 116 professors, 983 students and 47 administrative employees. Research results on PDI evaluation show that a more effective participation of the academic community is needed in the whole process of institutional strategic planning. / Esta disserta??o tem como objetivo geral investigar informa??es te?ricas e pr?ticas sobre planejamento estrat?gico aplicado a uma institui??o particular de ensino superior, o Centro Universit?rio Geraldo Di Biase UGB. Destacam-se alguns objetivos espec?ficos, tal como: diagnosticar, atrav?s de sondagem ambiental, o ambiente interno e externo da institui??o selecionada. Neste trabalho s?o articulados pesquisa bibliogr?fica e pesquisa de campo. Caracterizando a pesquisa de campo, foram aplicadas entrevistas aos dirigentes e question?rios aos docentes, discentes e funcion?rios da comunidade acad?mica da pr?pria Institui??o, por tratar-se de um estudo de caso. O tamanho da amostra totalizam 1.152 observa??es, como seguem: 06 dirigentes, 116 professores, 983 alunos e 47 funcion?rios administrativos. Os resultados da pesquisa de avalia??o do PDI mostram que ? necess?ria uma participa??o mais efetiva da comunidade acad?mica no processo integral de planejamento estrat?gico da Institui??o.
