Výpočtová analýza kosoúhlého rovnání tyčí / Computational analysis of cross roll straightening of rods

Today is on products from the perspective of quality placed an increasing emphasis. This work is focused to the analyze of cross roll straghtening of long semifinished products with a circular cross-section. This process increased quality of semifinished products from the perspective of their curvature, because they do not reach the required limit values. Curvature of the semifinished product is due to residual stress, which is during straghtening using plastic deformation of the material redistributed and the semifinished product is leveled. This work analyzes the effect of rotation of straightening rolls on the distributiom of contact pressure between the straightening semifinished product and the roll of straightener. Author then analyzes effect of input parameters of program to straightening at the final curvature of the semifinished product. With the experience gained, then try to adjust some input parameters.

The master‘s thesis is aimed on numerical simulation of autofrettage of high pressure fuel vessel – rail in Common Rail system. First there is described Chaboche model, which is later used for simulation of autofrettage. There are described different approaches which can be used to obtain sufficient material model. Then there is observed influence of these different approaches on stress state of rail within the process of autofrettage. Suitability of Chaboche model for autofrettage and re-autofrettage simulations is assessed by comparing with more complex Jiang model. In the end there is a study of influence of autofrettage pressure on different properties, especially on residual stresses.

Tauopathy is accompanied by both loss of neurons and synapses. The neuronal loss is irreversible with very low chance of functional replacement therapy. However, lost synapses could be restored with proper stimuli. Perineuronal nets (PNNs) are serving as a protecting barrier for neurons, on the other hand they are significantly decreasing the synaptic plasticity. Temporary disintegration of the PNNs by enzymatic therapy might lead to rewiring and accelerate processes of memory and learning. Model of Cold Induced plasticity leads to the withdrawal of significant number of synapses across the brain. The recovery of these could be followed in healthy and diseased animals. Moreover, it can stimulate Cold shock protein dependent neuroprotective mechanisms. This master thesis is focused on these two forms of synaptic plasticity models; forced remodeling of PNNs and model of cold induced synaptic plasticity. Both will serve as a tool to modulate processes of memory and learning in the P301S tauopathy, in mice. In detail, the work will follow changes in the number of synapses at the region of CA1 of hippocampus and synaptic protein levels at level of whole hippocampus and behavioral recovery of pre-trained long-term memory task dependent on dorsal hippocampus. Ekologické determinanty klonálního růstu rostlin / Ecological determinants of plant clonal growth

The aim of this study is to provide a further insight into influence of environment on clonal plants. The study focuses particularly on effects of fertilization level and light availability on production and growth of clonal organs. Three experiments were carried out within the study, targeted to elicit influence of these environmental conditions or clonal interactions on six species of clonal plants. Interspecies dependencies on these conditions was compared, regarding habitat occurrence of these species. A comparison was made also between species producing rhizomes and stolons. The experiments revealed that five of six studied species show significant relationship among at least one environmental condition and parameters of clonal reproduction. Most of the species showed higher elongation and production of clonal organs in relation to fertilization level. On the contrary, only three species reacted significantly to the light availability level by alternation of at least one parameter of clonal reproduction and the light availability level affected each species differently. A strong influence on production and elongation of clonal organs had also a size of a plant. The aim of this final thesis is to apply Feuerstein's instrumental enrichment program (FIE) to a person with traumatic brain injury (TBI). The theoretical part deals with the problematic of traumatic brain injury and Feuerstein's approach to the development of cognitive functions. The empirical part focuse on qualitative research to find out whether there has been an improvement in cognitive functions with three respondents with TBI after five months of intervention using the FIE program, or not. Respondents are young men aged between 23 and 32, about 10 years after the accident, who regularly rehabilitate and undergo reeducation at the Jedlička Institute and Schools (JÚŠ). The aim of the research is to compare whether the influence of the FIE program has improved cognitive functions. The comparison is achieved by objective assessment of cognitive functions using Klecanská opakovatelná neuropsychologická baterie (KONB; Klecany Repeatable Neuropsychological Battery). Vliv facilitačních technik na kognitivní funkce u roztroušené sklerózy mozkomíšní / The effect of facilitation physiotherapy on cognitive functions in multiple sclerosis patients

Cognitive function disorders have an enormous impact on the life quality of a patient, his or her family and close people. It influences the patient's job, social interaction and independence. This diploma thesis focuses on the possibility of improving cognitive functions concerning multiple sclerosis with the help of facilitation physiotherapy. Twelve disordered volunteers participated a two-month physiotherapeutic programme (motor programs activating therapy), for 1 hour, twice per week. Before the beginning and after the end of the therapeutic programme an examination by a clinic test PASAT and the monitoring of functional magnetic resonance was done. The results of functional magnetic resonance were further compared with the results of group of healthy volunteers. Concerning clinic test, the results of the disordered patients have improved after the therapy. In functional magnetic resonance statistics the earlier start and change of a curve progress of brain activation was discovered, which portrays improving speed of processing information at multiple sclerosis disordered.

Title: Evolution and Learning of Virtual Robots Author: RNDr. Peter Krčah Department: Department of Software and Computer Science Education Supervisor: RNDr. František Mráz, CSc. Abstract: Evolutionary robotics uses evolutionary algorithms to automatically design both body and controller of a robot. We describe two contributions to automated design of virtual robotic creatures. First, we introduce a nature-inspired method that allows virtual robots to modify their morphology through lifetime learning. We show that such morphological plasticity makes it possible to evolve robots that can dynamically adjust their morphology to the environment they are placed into. We also show that by reshaping the fitness landscape, learning reduces computation cost required to evolve a robot with a given target fitness even in a single environment. In the second contribution, we show that for certain problems in evolutionary robotics, premature convergence to local optima can be avoided by ignoring the original objective and searching for any novel behaviors instead (a technique known as Novelty Search). 6 Abstract The rehabilitation of patients with brain damage is an interprofessional, complex, intensive, long-lasting and individually oriented process. One frequent consequence of brain damage is hemiparesis, which also causes a disorder of the upper extremity movement pattern. The movement ability of the upper extremity is essential for an individual's self-sufficiency, the performance of common daily activities, and thus for an independent life in a family setting. Special therapeutic rehabilitation approaches should involve the training of new activities, including the motor learning mechanism that activates brain plasticity. A functional reorganization of the motor cortex occurs along with the activation of reserve neurons and the replacement of damaged synapses. One of the aims of this work was to demonstrate, using objective function methods, the possibility of influencing the movement patterns of a paretic upper extremity by means of intensive interprofessional rehabilitation even several years after the brain damage. Rehabilitation of patients after brain damage is an multidisciplinary, complex, intensive, long- term and individual process. Standardized functional instruments for the assessment of the degree of disability and functional abilities of patients are not usually used in rehabilitation in the Czech Republic. Often, motor disorder post brain damage results in hemiparesis and causes impairment of upper arm movement pattern. Movement ability of the upper arm is vital for self-sufficiency, activities of daily life and maintaining an independent family life. Special rehabilitation therapeutic techniques must involve the training of new activities including the mechanism of motor learning which is responsible for functional reorganization of the motor cortex regions, and the activation of reserve neurons for reparation. The aim of the study is to demonstrate that an accelerometer is a suitable instrumet for objective monitoring of impairment of the upper arm movement pattern. Environmental conditions can influence epigenetic variability of clonal organisms. These environmentally induced changes have potential to persist in following generations. In theory, this transgenerational memory could allow clonal (and especially apomictic) plants to partly compensate reduced genetic variability and could enhance adaptative ability of apomictic populations. According to Muller's ratchet model, asexual organisms amass deleterious mutations, which could lead to their extinction. Possible transgenerational memory could partly compensate for this. It could also account for longtime survivorship of asexual organisms in environment. This thesis deals with transgenerational memory of triploid apomictic populations of Hieracium alpinum, with completely missing sexuality and thus genetically uniform offspring. Transgenerational effect in Hieracium alpinum was studied on clonal lineages originated from 5 populations (Norway, Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Slovakia). Seeds were planted in cultivation experiment I in 3 treatments (control, added nutrients, added salicylic acid) and vegetative and generative traits were measured.
