Come si configurano i percorsi di militanza all’interno della Lega Nord? Quali processi di costruzione e rappresentazione di cultura, ideologia e identità emergono al suo interno? Che tipo di partito si incontra, spostando lo sguardo dall’attore politico, per osservare invece i processi situati che sostanziano l’organizzazione politica ? Questi i principali interrogativi alla base della ricerca etnografica condotta all’interno di due sezioni, l’una collocata in un piccolo centro della provincia veneta, l’altra in un contesto metropolitano lombardo.

The thesis investigates the impact of extra-individual factors on electoral participation, by providing a comprehensive theoretical framework aimed at highlighting the role of context. In particular, it analyzes the key-concepts of mobilization and interpersonal influence, with a focus on the Italian case. Both experimental and survey data are employed to answer the research questions. Concerning mobilization, main findings show that personal forms of contact, such as face-to-face interactions with party members, are more successful than impersonal forms, which prove to be ineffective. When looking at the interpersonal influence, the thesis shows that the exposure to political disagreement has differentiated effects on turnout, depending on the level of cohesiveness of the social circle where disagreement is experienced.

The work aims at addressing in a unified framework a variety environmental/contextual factors (geographical, campaign- and network-related). In doing so, theoretical and empirical relation between these various levels are investigated, as well as responses by which individuals can react to environmental stimuli. From the methodological side, hypotheses of the work are tested by means of multilevel regression models and agent-based simulations.

Diploma thesis "Talk show Uvolněte se, prosím and its political guests (qualitative and quantitative analysis of politicians' attendance in the show)" deals with the topic of convergence of entertainment and politics, hence politics and the media as such. The theoretical part of the thesis deals with the wider context of the issue - presentation of the politicians on television, interconnection of politics and humor, and the role of talk shows in political communication. The theoretical part presents the issue of political celebrities as one of the factors that affect communication between the politicians and the citizens. The practical part deals with the qualitative and quantitative analysis of the political guests' performance in the czech version of American talk shows Uvolněte se, prosím.

This thesis is concerned with a function of local political leaders as the actors of regional development in model areas. The primary aim is to select the appropriate model areas in Carlsbad region. The main aim of this thesis is on example of three appropriate selected model areas to analyze role and attitude of local politician in development of model areas. The theoretical part deals with analyze of attitudes in local development and analyze of selected ideas key for needs of thesis. The results of the thesis correspond to the stated aims and assumptions. Local political leaders are important actors of local development, but their role is evident only to a limited extent. L’obiettivo è indagare l’uso del ragionamento controfattuale nei discorsi degli uomini politici, centrati sulla discussione e la difesa del proprio o altrui operato al governo. Inizialmente, verranno analizzati alcuni discorsi di leader politici, nell’intento di mettere a punto una griglia di codifica dei controfattuali peculiari del discorso politico. Successivamente, verranno indagati gli effetti prodotti dal ragionamento controfattuale sulla percezione dei leader politici. / The research aims at studying the use of counterfactual thinking in political discourses centred on the discussion or defence of one’s own or other politicians performance. First, some political discourses will be analysed in order to develop a coding system of counterfactual in the political domain. Second, the effects of counterfactual reasoning on the perception of politicians perception will be investigated.

The thesis analyses the influence of ideological distance to the formation of executive coalitions at the municipal level. The thesis attempts to determine which factors are reflected in the formation of executive coalitions, how the decision-making processes are functioning at the municipal level and what kind of actors we can determine in this processes. There is also a question if there is a difference between ideological distance of political actors at national and municipal level. Another part of the thesis deals with the possible cleavages between the long- term political subjects in the municipal council and the subjects, which are new in the municipal council. In the empirical part of the thesis there is a comparative case study on the sample of five municipalities from the municipal district of Pilsen-South - five largest municipalities in the district with the population over 3500 were examined: Přeštice, Dobřany, Blovice, Nepomuk and Stod. The field of research was conducted in these municipalities through the semi-structured interviews with the mayors and some other local politicians. This dissertation studies the relationship existing between youth political organizations, music and national identity in contemporary Russia. In particular, it focuses on some of the most representative youth political organizations present in the city of St. Petersburg and aims at describing their contribution to the conceptualization of post-Soviet Russian national identity(ies), as captured through an analysis of their music.
