No. of bitstreams: 1 Dissertacao.pdf: 2450420 bytes, checksum: f3585b1b9780d4a55f5dbbd956fc4501 (MD5) Previous issue date: 2001-12-13 / O presente trabalho teve como objetivo principal caracterizar os resíduos sólidos urbanos secos comercializados pela Usina de Lixo de Vitória, provenientes da Coleta seletiva constituída por Postos de Entrega Voluntária (PEVs), implantada pela Prefeitura Municipal de Vitória, capital do estado do Espírito Santo. As atividades de campo foram desenvolvidas conforme os procedimentos práticos de coleta, transporte e triagem utilizadas pelo sistema existente, atendendo critérios técnico-científicos. Da análise dos resultados concluiu-se que os resíduos da CSV por PEVs têm em sua composição 38% de papéis, 19% de vidros, 13% de plásticos, 8% de metais ferrosos e não-ferrosos e 22% de descarte e que o índice de aproveitamento dos materiais recicláveis recolhidos nos PEVs foi em média 77%. Os atos de vandalismo contra os PEVs existem, porém não chegam a ser significativos. Posteriormente estimou-se o número de usuários que utilizam os PEVs, para dispor os materiais recicláveis que geram. Finalmente, estabeleceu-se uma relação entre as localizações desses coletores e os seus níveis de preenchimento. Por tratar-se da primeira avaliação deste tipo de coleta, no Estado do Espírito Santo, espera-se que os resultados obtidos venham a contribuir para um gerenciamento e planejamento em caso de expansão do sistema de coleta seletiva em Vitória ou mesmo na implementação deste tipo de coleta em outros municípios. / This work aimed to characterize the dry and solid urban waste comercialized by Usina de Lixo de Vitória ES composed of Voluntary Delivery Offices (Postos de Entrega Voluntária - PEV), implemented by the city of Vitória, capital of Espírito Santo. Fieldwork was developed along with the practical techniques of collect, transportation and a process of selection for later recovery used by the existent system, under tecno-scientific criteria. From the analysis of the results it is concluded that the waste from the PEVs of selective collect had in its composition 38% paper, 19% glass, 13%, plastic and 8% ferrousand non-ferrous metals and 22% discards and the utilization index of the recycle materials taken in the PEVs was about 77%. The acts of vandalism against PEVs are not very significative. Laterly was stimated the number of users that utilize the system of selective collect to dispose the recycle materials that they own produce. Finally was established a relationship between the locations of these collectors and their own filling in level. Because it is the first avaliation of this kind of collect, in the state of ES, hopefully that the results taken, come to contribute for a management and planning in case of expansion of the selective collect in Vitória or even in the implementation of this kind of collect in the other cities.
