This diploma thesis analyzes the problem of line planning in urban public transport as an object of Operations Research. It is based on the Theory of Graphs, building specific model network referring to a real existing network. Each line represents the flow through part of this network, respecting additional constraints. The goal is to optimize existing routing by decreasing the number of lines in service and making the routing easier to understand and remember. On the contrary to casual models, this one has been designed to perfectly describe a real existing network, tramway service in Prague, Czech Republic. Furthermore, no set of lines is given in advance. The flow is newly computed by optimizing software to fit the demand and the capacity of each branch. So the output should give the user a concrete route of each line in operation.

Temperature inversions in the boundary layer over Prague Abstract The main objective of this study is to analyze temperature inversions in the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL) over Prague. In the first part, the concept of the ABL is defined and main theoretical aspects of air stratification are explored. The main part of the background research summarizes current knowledge of temperature inversions, especially how the landscape pattern influences their development and parameters under different synoptic situations, and methods used for their detection, measurement and evaluation. Considering the theme of the thesis, main geographic factors influencing temperature inversions in the area of Prague are also defined. The focus of actions is placed on inversions analysis based upon time series of Praha-Libuš rawinsonde station. Homogeneity of used data is tested and all inversions within the 2000- meters-thick-layer close to the ground are derived. Diurnal, annual and interannual frequency variations are described. Significance of long-term trends is tested and trends are compared to data from Prostějov and Kümmersbruck stations. Keywords: temperature inversions, boundary layer, climate, Prague

Title of the thesis: Art and architecture of the Ethnographic exhibition 1895 The topic of the presented diploma thesis is the reconstruction of artist and item list presented on the Ethnographic exhibition of 1895, which was held in the premises of Holešovice Fairground in Prague from May 15 to September 28, 1895. Despite being one of the most important exhibition events held in Bohemia in the 19th Century (Jubilee Exhibition of 1891 - Ethnographic Exhibition of 1895 - Architecture and Engineering Exhibition 1898), it has not yet been systematically covered - not even from the history of art perspective. Based on the original material (leaflets, catalogues, guide-books) the thesis attempts to re- introduce the original public image of the exhibition and the character of the exposed items. The chapters of the thesis deal with the exhibition banner, the architecture (The Old Prague and Sample Village exhibitions), paintings, sculptures, commercial art (exhibition souvenirs). The thesis also attempts to trace the items and sketch their fate after the exhibition was over.

The thesis deals with the events that occurred in Prague in the years 1868-1872 with closer focus on the year 1868 during the Camp Movement. It introduces the most important events which affected public affairs in the observed period. The thesis deals mostly with protests against Austro-Hungarian Compromise, the celebration of the laying of the foundation stone of the National Theatre, visit of the emperor in the year 1868, announcement of a state of emergency in Prague, Labor Question, legal cases for newspaper editors, political negotiations about Austro-Hungarian Compromise and Fiddle elections. The thesis also deals with previous events which had influence on the observed period. Title: Proposal for improving the game day experience in the ELH based on the NHL Objectives: The main goal of the diploma thesis is to suggest the program arrangement of the game day for the visitors of the Czech hockey league. The thesis targets on new features appropriate for the Czech environment but also for the improvement of the current ones. Another goal of the thesis is to describe the attitude of the game day management teams to the accompanying program in ELH and NHL which represent the image of the league itself. Methods: The main sources for collecting the data are as the following: a structured observation and in-depth interviews. All of the information is collected based on the questions created for the purpose of the thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis is based on the literature sources and the consultations with experts in the field of the Czech and Canadian-American icehockey. Results: The main result of the diploma thesis is the suggestion for the improvement of the gameday program of the club HC Sparta Praha. The suggestion was prepared based on the analysis using the methods stated above. The suggestion includes elements usable in front of the arena before the game starts. The doctoral dissertation "Jiří Hálek and Jiřina Třebická: Acting at the Činoherní Klub in the 1960s" is dedicated to two outstanding figures of Czech theatre. Both born in 1930, Hálek and Třebická were members of the original Činoherní Klub (Drama Club) company fiounded in prague in 1965 who through their craft, especially in ground - breaking works by Ladislav Smoček, Alena Vostrá and PAvel landovský, helped determine the shape of modern Czech drama, which in the late 60s and early 70s came to be admired and acclaimed throughout Europe.

Šťavíková, V. Investment portfolio and its creation. Diploma thesis. Brno, 2015 This diploma thesis focuses on creation of an investment portfolio using the Markowitz theory. The matters of building a portfolio and portfolio management are described in the first part of the thesis. Subsequently, the operation of the Prague Stock Exchange with a particular focus on the stock market is interpreted whereas the characteristics of considered shares is not omitted. This thesis further focuses on specifying the investment criteria. The next part contains the application of the portfolio theory itself where there are demonstrated the findings of the portfolio theory via assembled collections of financial assets.

This thesis has the subtitle Conceptional cooperation between elementary schools and cultural institutions in Prague. It focuses not only on the theatrical field, but also on other types of institutions such as galleries, music ensembles and libraries in order to gain insight into the situation of programs for schools that contribute to the education of the youngest generation of visitors. It aims to map the situation of cultural education in Prague and to put it into the context of the Czech Republic and Europe. Further, the work examines motivation or vice versa barriers of the implementation of educational programs from the point of view of cultural institutions and schools respectively. This is done on the basis of background research, interviews and studies of the constitutional documents. The first part deals with the nuances of terminology related to the education of children in the field of arts and culture, and summarizes the conceptual documents, which work with the term cultural education. Work continues with the summary of the way-out of the current state of cultural education. There are described the most common types of programs for schools, the role of the lector in the institution and different possibilities for the implementation of such programs due to operating conditions. The second part is devoted to a comparison of outcomes from interviews with eight representatives of Prague's cultural institutions and five teachers from elementary schools. Finally the two examples of good practice from abroad are introduced as well as two examples of projects in Prague and their potential for future development.

The primary purpose of the thesis ?Transformation of the National Theatre and the State Opera from the marketing aspect? is to monitor the process of incorporation of the State Opera into the structure of the National Theatre, putting emphasis on the marketing potential of such process. Evolution of coexistence of the National Theatre with the State Opera sets the topic of transformation into historical consequences and offers the overview of different operational models and cooperation between both institutions. The core of the thesis is a reflexion of the current marketing of the National Theatre and explanation of the meaning and needs of arts marketing in general, especially mentioning the potential of brand marketing. In the practical part of the thesis I present an idea of a campaign for the opera ensemble of the National Theatre and the State Opera. I believe that the thesis ?Transformation of the National Theatre and the State Opera from the marketing aspect? will be an asset to all future readers who should be able to look into the process of this transformation and see it not only as a historically and organizationally complicated process but mainly as an opportunity for the National Theatre to redefine mission and target of its marketing strategy.

The present thesis deals with another current issue, which is known as the urban heat island. Phenomenon which aries by changes in the environment i divided into two categories namely natural and anthropogenic, this two categories can work together. City and counrtyside are different, the cause is the growing urbanization of towns and changing the earth´s surface, taht can absorb solar radiation and later released into the environment. The result of this process, the warming of the atmosphere in the cities. In the literary part describes the historical development of climate, climate as a separate element and urban heat island. Urban heat island is also distributed through energy balance, causes, impacts and possible alternatives to eliminate ist mitigation. The main objective was to describe the available evidence and evaluate data from four different European citites (Bourges, Hamburg, Karlov and Strasbourg). Furthermore to determine through maximum and minimum monthly temperatures in the summer months, whether in those cities discovers and develops this phenomenon. Further analyze the frequency of individual synoptic situations for the period 1961-2010 and evaluated their relationship to the air temperature. In the first hypothesis was from statistical studies demonstrated, that in summer was markked ibcidence of urban heat island, which is especially noticeable in minimum temperatures. Further analysis demonstrated that the synoptic situation, when they have their effect on the urban heat island. The second hypothesis and it´s the air temperature changes are causes by human activities, and the result is creation of urban heat island to certify based on the evaluation of the data series.
