Boržiková, Martina Kateřina January 2017 (has links)
Sanctification according to John 17: 13-19 The diploma thesis deals with an exegesis of John 17:13-19 with emphasis on an interpretation of the verses 17 and 19 and within them especially on the meaning of the term sanctification. The first chapter presents a brief introduction to the Gospel of St. John, the second one shows the chosen pericope in a contextual view and subsequently brings its literary-grammatical analysis. The third chapter focuses on an analysis of the selected biblical-theological terms which are fundamental for understanding of the pericope. The last chapter brings the exegesis itself with the aid of selected commentaries. The aim of the thesis is to interpret the presented pericope and to get to its deeper sense especially in connection with the term sanctification. The method used in this thesis is an analysis of the original text and a comparison of selected commentaries.

Konstrukce historické reality v díle kronikáře Jeana Froissarta / The Construction of a Historical Reality in Jean Froissart's Chronicles

Soukupová, Věra January 2017 (has links)
The Construction of Historical Reality in Jean Froissart's Chronicles Jean Froissart, one of the most famous chroniclers of the Middle Ages, is generally recognized for the literary qualities of his work, less so for the credibility of his account. In my research I have endeavoured to follow those scholars whose aim has been to rehabilitate the author by studying him not on the basis of principles which govern our contemporary understanding of history as an academic discipline, but rather on the basis of conceptual movements which conditioned historical writing in the 14th century, taking into account the traditions upon which medieval conception of history was built. Put differently, this work seeks to examine closely the "historical forge" of Jean Froissart. Clearly, Froissart's historical project falls within a specific discourse on historical genres, on relationships between form and truth which an account of deeds is expected to convey, on the manner in which the authority of a story being told is constructed. It is on the very intersection of this context, on the one hand, and the individuality of the author, on the other, that I based my search for the chronicler's perspectives on the writing of history. Froissart was from the outset concerned with the issues of impartiality and credibility...

Místo pravdy v dílech Ernesta Gellnera a Erica Voegelina / The Place of Truth by Ernest Gellner and Eric Voegelin

Sosna, Andrej January 2020 (has links)
This diploma thesis "The Place of Truth by Ernest Gellner and Eric Voegelin" compares two major thinkers in the field of discourses of truth, faith, modernity, and democracy. Eric Voegelin represents unorthodox conservative views of the abstract place of truth, which is in close connection with the existence of individuals and with close relation to transcendent basis of being. Liberal thinker Ernest André Gellner is an advocate of individualism and rationalism, which significantly impact the very concept of truth. Attention is mainly focused on how these two different points of view define relation between domain of truth to modern democracy and totalitarian movements represented by ideologies, which were hegemonizing sphere of truth in society.

Hledání pravdy jako základní mravní nárok / Quest for truth as a fundamental moral claim

Jakoubek, Jiří January 2013 (has links)
Is it possible to describe questing for truth as a fundamental moral claim? If so, in what meaning than? The goal of the submitted work is to find the answer to these questions. As the starting point of reflections serves a characteristic of a man as a person in spirit of dialogical personalism. This correspond with personal project conception of moral truth. That is put in connection with the life story of Jesus of Nazareth as a true man. With the assistence of the terms "conscience" and "liberty" is the final conception of moral truth set in a wider purview of ethical reflections and consequently confrontated with teaching of encyclical "Veritas splendor".
