Syntax složených adjektiv v překladovém slovníku / Syntax of Adjective Compounds in a Bilingual DictionarySchmidtová, Iva January 2013 (has links)
The aim of the given thesis is to expound the problem of syntax processing by creating adjectival compounds in dictionary entries for the Large German-Czech Academic Dictionary. Assuming that exactly these words, which belong to the complicated vocabulary items, cause difficulties for foreign speakers with text comprehension and text production. It is based on the nature of German language, which makes many compounds, as opposed to in Czech language. Not only are the meanings of these words revealed to be problematic, but also their usage. The thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part deals with characteristics of adjectives as word class, and because each word always has its context, attention will be primarily focused on the adjectival valency. Previously, only the valency of verbs and substantives has been discussed. When a native speaker automatically knows these syntax structures and even when, in case of foreign language, there could exist structural similarities between the source and target language, the structures ought consequently to be given in the dictionary. In some mono- or bilingual dictionary the user should find complex informations for word searched. The practical part involves analysis of ten chosen adjective compounds, which shows how the valency structures are...

Classifiers ga (cl. 16), ku (cl. 17) and mu (cl. 18) express respectively “contact”, “distance” and “interiority”: a) when they are prefixed by ‑úma /place/; b) when they appear in conjugated verbs or are prefixed by themes of determinants; c) when they are followed by a name in the form of a free morpheme; d) or when they are followed by a verb. Bu (cl. 14) expresses, in addition, “abstract” value when it is combined to lexical bases; when it is prefixed to the themes of determinants, it carries temporal, comparative and causal values; it serves thirdly to mark the hypothesis in the form of a free morpheme.

The Southern Sotho relative in discourseMischke, Gertruida Elizabeth 11 1900 (has links)
Southern Sotho verbal relative clauses are, on discourse-pragmatic grounds, categorised
as direct and indirect. The pragmatic factors that govern the occurrence of these two
types of relatives within a particular discourse context are investigated.
An analysis of relative clauses occurring in live conversations as well as in the dramas
Bulane (Khaketla, 1983) and Tjootjo e tla hloma sese/a (Maake, 1992) reveals that
direct relative clauses usually modify the reference of predicate nouns (i.e. nouns used
as the complements of copulative predicates), while indirect relative clauses modify the
reference of object nouns.
Theories which suggest that both predicate as well as object nouns generally convey new
information, but that the reference status of predicate nouns is non-specific indefinite,
while that of object nouns is specific indefinite, are discussed. A hypothesis suggesting
that there is an interrelationship between the reference status of a head noun and the type
of relative by means of which it is qualified, is proposed. / African Languages / M.A. (African Languages)

Řízení pohybu při přemisťování zavěšeného předmětu / Motion control during hanged object transportationRichter, Jan January 2010 (has links)
The Diploma Thesis focuses on examination of most suitable optionsof movement regulation of pendent object from the perspective of various requirements on the course of the process as such. The environment of Matlab-Simulink was used for the analysis. The first part of the Thesis deals with the creation of the model of the whole system and creation of additional models of systems with similar, highly oscillating behaviour. The central part of the Thesis focuses on the design of suitable methods of movement regulation during translocation of the pendent object, which is tested on a simple model of travelling monkey. Four approaches to the problem solving were chosen: simple regulation by PID regulator, branched regulation, state regulation and predicative regulation. All solving options are being analysed and optimised and their results mutually compared according to requirements defined, such as: speed of the process, fluency of the movement, small pose overshoot or small angle of rope deflection.
