The thesis work is done in collaboration with Prodtex AB, which works to develop digital tools to facilitate the constructor´s work in virtual environments, for instance CAFD within CATIA V5. What the client wanted the project participants to perform was a comparison of the company's semi-automatic software for fixture design, and the traditional construction method with CATIA. The reason for the method comparison is because Prodtex AB requires data, which they can present to potential customers. The participants produced a method to enable the necessary components of the project, the method consisted of training in fixture design, fixture construction and work with the consulting company´s application. These elements have been essential for the comparison to be reliable. The main part of the assignment consisted of constructing units for the given fixture. The reason behind this is due to the necessity of a certain level of experience in fixture design, which is required to be able to assemble units with an accurate and efficient procedure. The method comparison generated data in terms of time in the measurement areas, input, design and export that the project participants analyzed and compiled in the result section. Based on the statistics, participants were able to find answers about which features the software made the most time savings of, and how abundant these were in relation to the traditional design method. A conclusion about when it was beneficial for a company to invest in the software was based on reasoning deduced from the outcome discussion.

Abstract In this report you will be able to read about the development of a chair. How it is developed through different prototypes and changes step by step. The work is distributed at different stages and based on research and knowledge accumulated from the furniture design education at Malmstens LIU. One half of the work is the documentation and reflection made before and after the various stages of development. The second half is practical work with the manufacture of prototypes. But description of the manufacture is not included because it can be performed in different ways. However, the results are highlighted with pictures and descriptions of how and why they change. The purpose is to improve as a designer and through product development teach me to develop my furniture. Demonstrate that tests and prototypes play a significant role in the development and refinement of a product. The question is: How can product development of a chair, improve my knowledge as a designer? The goal is to achieve an ability and skill to make prototypes and product development. I want to be able to build quickly and efficiently and thus make changes at an early stage. It was also important to do-document what I change so that I could make conscious decisions through the process. In addition to the fact that I aimed to present a result, the work has mostly been about the process leading up to the result. Learning from the different steps and developing myself as a designer, which I consider myself to have done.

Biologiskt kontaminerade medicinska instrument utgör en risk för att orsaka sjukdomar, och i förebyggande syfte används bland annat diskdesinfektorer för att rengöra och desinficera dessa instrument.Uppdragsgivaren Getinge Disinfection AB i Växjö vill effektivisera och säkerställa rengörings- och desinfektionsprocessen genom att konstruera en ny slanghållare, vilket även är syftet med detta arbete. Arbetet utförs med den ingenjörsvetenskapliga konstruktionsmetoden.Resultatet är en slanghållare som består av en klämma och en klämma-hållare, samt detaljritningar för prototyptillverkning, se Bilaga 14 och 15.Slutsatserna för slanghållaren är att risken för plastisk deformation har minimerats, att slanghållaren kan hålla i slangar med olika diametrar effektivt och säkert, att slanghållarens klämma är lätt att ersätta, samt att klämman kan vara överdimen-sionerad.Avslutningsvis är slutsatsen att den nya slanghållaren kan bidra till att effektivisera och säkerställa rengörings- och desinfektionsprocessen av anestesislangar
