Project deals with simulation of dynamical qualities for an output changer device in settings Matlab Simulink. In this work there is even a design power board alternator, wakers and directing of alternator.

Modeling of Multi-Pulse Transformer/Rectifier Units in Power Distribution Systems

Multi-pulse transformer/rectifier systems are becoming increasingly popular in power distribution systems. These topologies can be found in aircraft power systems, motor drives, and other applications that require low total harmonic distortion (THD) of the input line current. This increase in the use of multi-pulse transformer topologies has led to the need to study large systems composed of said units and their interactions within the system. There is also an interest in developing small-signal models so that stability issues can be studied. This thesis presents a procedure for the average model of multi-pulse transformer/rectifier topologies. The dq rotating reference frame was used to develop the average model and parameter estimation is incorporated through the use of polynomial fits. The average model is composed of nonlinear dependent sources and linear passive components. A direct benefit from this approach is a reduction in simulation time by two orders of magnitude. The average model concept demonstrates that it accurately predicts the dynamics of the system being studied. In particular, two specific topologies are studied, the 12-pulse hexagon transformer/rectifier (hex t/r) and the 18-pulse autotransformer rectifier unit (ATRU). In both cases, detailed switching model results are used to verify the operation of the average model. In the case of the hex t/r, the average model is further validated with experimental data from an 11 kVA prototype. The hex t/r output impedance, obtained from the linearized average model, has also been verified experimentally. / Master of Science

Les travaux de thèse portent sur la conception et la réalisation d'un circuit intégré de commande rapprochée générique pour les transistors à grille isolée comme les MOSFETs et les IGBTs dans les structures de conversion d'énergie de l'électronique de puissance. L'objectif principal est de concevoir un système de commande simple à mettre en oeuvre, compact et configurable pouvant servir un panel varié d'applications dites multi-transistors. Le mémoire de thèse se structure en quatre chapitres : état de l'art de la commande rapprochée des transistors à grille isolée, présentation et validation d'une nouvelle topologie de commande rapprochée à base de transformateur d'impulsion, présentation et validation d'une version améliorée pour travailler à large spectre de fréquence et de rapport cyclique, conception et validation du driver intégré générique. Les champs d'application de ce concept du driver sont multiples, celui-ci favorise la simplicité de la conception et de la mise en oeuvre des système de commande pour l'électronique de puissance. / The thesis work focuses on the design and the implementation of a generic integrated gate driver circuit for power transistors such as MOSFETs and IGBTs in power conversion structure. The main objective is to design a control system which is simple to implement, compact and can be configurable to serve several multi-transistors applications. The thesis is structured into four chapters: state of the art of the gate driver for power transistor, presentation and validation of a new gate driver topology based on pulse transformer, presentation and validation of an upgraded version enable to work with wider range of frequency and duty cycle, design and validation of a generic integrated driver. The fields of application of this driver concept are multiples; it promotes the simplicity of the design and implementation of control system for power electronics.

The introduction picks the issue of power sources in electromobiles and final design and implementation of switching power suply. The next part deals with the issues of fast-charger and generators for power transistors. It describes the structure of DC converter and control and protectin circuits of quick-charger. In the end this work describes selected driver circuits and charge tests on fast-charger as evidenced by measurements.

The thesis covers the simulation results, assembly data and the results measured on the implemented functional sample.

Voltage Stability and Control in Autonomous Electric Power Systems with Variable Frequency

This work focuses on the safe and stable operation of an autonomous power system interconnecting an AC source with various types of power electronic loads. The stability of these systems is a challenge due to the inherent nonlinearity of the circuits involved. Traditionally, the stability analysis in this type of power systems has been approached by means of small-signal methodology derived from the Nyquist stability criterion. The small-signal analysis combined with physical insight and the adoption of safety margins is sufficient, in many cases, to achieve a stable operation with an acceptable system performance. Nonetheless, in many cases, the margins adopted result in conservative measures and consequent system over designs. This work studies the system stability under large-perturbations by means of three different tools, namely parameter space mapping, energy functions, and time domain simulations. The developed parameters space mapping determines the region of the state and parameter space where the system operation is locally stable. In this way stability margins in terms of physical parameters can be established. Moreover, the boundaries of the identified stability region represent bifurcations of the system where typical nonlinear behavior appears. The second approach, based on the Lyapunov direct method, attempts to determine the region of attraction of an equilibrium point, defined by an operation condition. For this a Lyapunov function based on linear matrix inequalities was constructed and tested on a simplified autonomous system model. In Addition, the third approach simulates the system behavior on a computer using a detailed system model. The higher level of model detail allows identifying unstable behavior difficult to observe when simpler models are used. Because the stability of the autonomous power system is strongly associated with the characteristics of the energy source, an improved voltage controller for the generator is also presented. The generator of an autonomous power system must provide a good performance under a wide variety of regimes. Under these conditions a model based controller is a good solution because it naturally adapts to the changing requirements. To this extent a controller based on the model of a variable frequency synchronous generator has been developed and tested. The results obtained show a considerable improvement performance when compared to previous practices. / Ph. D.

O presente trabalho apresenta o estudo, o equacionamento, a simulação e uma metodologia de projeto para um conversor CC/CC do tipo Half-Bridge, com transformador de potência alimentado por transistores bipolares em semi-ponte, com circuito de acionamento de base proporcional isolado. O circuito possui um controle de sincronismo aplicado ao transformador de pulso responsável pelo controle das chaves semicondutoras do conversor. A metodologia de projeto do circuito de acionamento de base proporcional isolado é discutida e alguns resultados são mostrados. Além disso, pretende-se empregar esse tipo de conversor em veículos aeroespaciais devido a robustez no circuito de acionamento de base, em específico na Unidade de Suprimento de Energia do satélite universitário ITASAT. Utilizando-se o diagrama esquemático do conversor proposto é feito o equacionamento matemático, a fim de se obter a frequência de oscilação livre, ou natural, a partir do qual é proposta uma metodologia de projeto. Ao final do trabalho são comparados os resultados experimentais com a simulação, com o objetivo de melhor avaliar a metodologia proposta. / This work presents the study, equation development, simulation and a design methodology for a Half-Bridge DC/DC converter, with power transformer fed by bipolar transistors in a half-bridge configuration, with proportional base drive circuit. The circuit has a synchronism control applied to the pulse transformer responsible for controlling the semiconductor switches of the converter. The design methodology of the proportional base drive is discussed and some results are shown. In addition, this type of converter is intended to be used in aerospace vehicles due to the increased robustness of the base drive circuit, for instance, the Power Supply Unit of ITASAT Satellite. A mathematical modeling is done in order to obtain the oscillation frequency (natural frequency) of the converter, from which a design methodology is proposed. At the end of the study the experimental are compared with the simulation, in order to evaluate the proposed methodology.

This thesis is about to introduce the development of switched power supply with output voltage of 5,5 kV and power of 4,3 kW. This thesis directly follows the outputs of two previous semester projects. Main task is about to finish the development of remaining printed circuit boards and perform launching of all parts of developed power supply. Next necessary task is about to assemble a functional prototype of the supply using the developed parts, performing a series of measurement supply’s parameters and creating of technical documentation of mechanical part. There are all stages of supply’s development included in this thesis. From the first part, that describes various types of converters, through the design of all the supply’s parts, to final implementation of functional prototype. There are the results of measurement supply’s parameters at the end of this thesis.
