Narkotikaanvändningen har eskalerat i omfattning så väl nationellt som globalt, och är inte sällan en inkörsport för barn och unga in i den kriminella världen. Detta arbete syftar till att undersöka vilka brottspreventiva arbetsmetoder och modeller som kan och bör användas i syfte att förebygga narkotikabruk hos barn och unga, och utreda vilka utmaningar som följer med dem. Arbetet har genomförts utifrån en strukturerad litteraturstudie på 9 olika forskningsstudier. Utfallet av den strukturerade litteraturstudien har därefter kodats genom en tematisk analys. Flera brottsförebyggande metoder har identifierats och analyserats i ljuset av traditionella brottsförebyggande teorier; självkontrollsteorin och den situationsbaseradebrottspreventionsteorin.Studien menar att ett framgångsrikt preventivt arbete avseende narkotikaanvändning hos barn och unga bygger på polisverksamhet på lokalnivå, tillit, anpassning av metoder och program till den aktuella målgruppen, och ett involverande av familjer, kamrater och skolsystem, allt i syfte att bromsa den uppåtgående trenden. / The last decades, experimental drug use among youngsters has increased both nationally and globally and is not infrequently a gateway for youngsters into a criminal lifestyle. This thesis aims to investigate which crime prevention methods could and should be used when it comes to preventing children and/or youngsters from usingdrugs. The method used in the study is a structured literature review, which resulted in 9 reviewed papers in the subject area. The outcome of the literature review has been coded through a thematic review. Several different crime prevention methods have been identified and analyzed in the light of traditional crime prevention theories, the self-control theory as well as situational crime prevention theories.The thesis discusses the importance of successful crime prevention methods and the challenges that accompany them, suggesting that successful police practice in this matter can be achieved through local policing, trust, adapting methods and programs aimed at the target group, as well as involving families, peers, and the educational system in order to achieve a downward trend in substance use among youngsters.
