Inspection of the quality of social services in residential facilities. The main goal of Inspection of the quality of social services in residential facilities is to describe the influence of inspection on quality of standards of service provided in controlled facilities. The thesis is divided in two parts. First part presents theroetical frame of discussed issue based on professional literature. This theoretical frame consists of four chapters which present social services in general, their quality and values, quality of management and inspection of social services. Second part includes qualitative research based on interviews with five respondents. Interviews are focused mainly on respondent's personal experiences. Results of data analysis, their overview and discussion are summarized. Based on data analysis answers to research questions are formulated. Research provides answers to how inspection of quality of social service contributes to better understanding of meaning of standards of quality by employees and how it influences behavior of employees and state of social service in general. This paper was prepared with the goal of mapping the changes brought by the Law on Social Services, no. 108/2006 Coll., in a specific facility. It was developed from the prospective of the personnel of a senior home. In the theory part, this work focuses first on the definition of the social services themselves, which factors affect them and their importance for the public. The next chapter, named Development of the Legislation of the Public Social Protection System, clarifies the transfer from social security to public social protection. Another chapter is devoted to the legislation attempting to create a comprehensive legal form, which would replace the at that time unsatisfactory social care system. The following chapters characterize, in detail, the individual parts of the new social services law, what will be influence by this law, for example the standards of quality of the social services, its check in form of an inspection from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs or a Municipal Authority. This paper also gradually focuses on the new social benefit, its purpose, amount, for whom it is designed and when the right for its payment arises. The Social Services Law is, towards the end of the theory part of this paper, the subject of a critical evaluation in the form of a SWAT analysis. Two hypotheses have been determined to meet the goal of this paper. A questionnaire survey and non-standardized interview were used during the research. The research sample was the nursing and social personnel of the Senior Home in Sněženková ulice in Prague. The questionnaire investigation and the non-standardized interviews confirmed hypothesis no. 1, which holds the opinion that, due to the influence of the social services law, the work demands on the management of the individual social services facilities will grow. The research also corfirmed hypothesis no. 2, which presumes the growth of the nursing care due to the change of the system of financing the social services and the consequent changes of client structure. Furthermore, it was proven that the law can meet its main mission {--} the preventive influence against social exclusion.

Diploma thesis "Integration of volunteering in social services for the elderly in the Czech Republic" deals with nowadays ageing population has become substantial part of the development of society. One of the important instruments of social policy to fight the adverse effects of the ageing population should be prevention and also the quality of social services for old people, support for civil society and volunteering, which contribution to the society is important and is going to strengthen in the future. Generally, the importance of a volunteer for a old person is as an intermediary with the world outside, and as an associate who has time only for him. The volunteer helps developing civic virtue and solving social problems usually as a partner of the state services and of the non-profit sector. In the consequence of a significant change in the legislation, which was put into practice by a new law in social services, I focus my work primarily on what the new law brings and how it has changed the scope of its social services in practice during its year-and-half force. And what role the phenomenon of volunteering defines too.

The thesis "Social services for the elderly in Rakovnicko and the trend of de- institutionalization" is trying to describe an effort to keep the elderly people as one of the largest groups of beneficiaries of local social services as long as possible at home. Its main objective is to determine the range of social services for the elderly in Rakovnicko district and based on the research of the key stakeholders (providers and local authorities) to assess whether the offer of social services is consistent with the trend of deinstitutionalization. Resume The disertation is conceived as a case study focused on the influence of introducing the quality standards of social services in a daily centre for people with mental and combined disability. It deals with the theoretical outline of the issues, particularly The Law of Social Services n. 108/2006 in the current version of later phrasing and amendment, and the quality standards of social services in relation to mentally disabled people. It also concerns with the formation of the Diakonie of the Czech Protestant Church, the Ratolest Centre in Prague and the evaluation of practical results of the introducing of the quality standards of social services in daily work of the concerned centre from the point of its staff and ordinary practice. The work on the standards in Ratolest Centre can be devided in three main stages. The first stage concerns the years 2004-2007, when the standards were intensely but not continually worked on. The work was primarily organized by one member of the staff and the management of the Centre. In this phase it meant mainly changes of practical dealing and communication with the clients. My work evaluates the impacts of Law of social services on the care of retired people, taking the needs of elderly people in respect. A greater attention will be paid to the support called "care allowance ". An internal part of this work is the analysis of costs of individual family members incurred on the care of the retired person, including the costs connected to the care at home compared to costs of the stay in a social or health facility.

The diploma thesis considered to research problem new way of financing of social services from public resources as a source of financial uncertainity of social services providers. The thesis is a case study of the district of administration of municipality with extendent competency Jindřichův Hradec and also the results are for this territory only. Most of the dates have been gathered with validity to 31.12.2009. The goal of this study was to evaluate three years of validity of the Social services law in financing of social services sphere, whereas the partial goal of this study was to find out, which changes bringed the new equal rights system of social services financing to providers of social services for seniors and handicapped persons. The thesis "Financing of Social Care services for the Elderly in the Czech Republic - Current Problems and Challenges" deals with analysis of system of social care services for the elderly in view of the fact that the current financing form is subject to criticism for its inefficiency. The aim of this thesis is to critically reflect changes in the provision and financing of social care services for the elderly in the Czech Republic after 2007 in the context of current challenges related to long-term social care and health care.
