The diploma thesis is concerned on the conceptual definition of a quality place and what defines the quality of places in general. Then the approach is applied on the urban block on the Udolni street in the city of Brno. The goal is to make lives of inhabitants better. In the end, a highly synergical urban block is designed, with functions and forms such as coworking, cohousing and new models of sharing. The whole urban block is connected through a garden which extends the Spilberk castle park.

The solved area with an area of approximately 4.2 hectares is the eastern part of the statutory city of Brno. It is located in the city of Brno Líšeň on the border of a row of village character with a small scale (old Líšeň) and loose construction of point, board and typified high-rise houses from the 20th century (new Líšeň). The aim of the project is to find a dialogue between the loose structure of the new Líšeň and the town-building structure of the old one. With its masses it creates clearly defined streets and spaces. At the same time, there is an effort to loosen the mass and to integrate it into the near nature with its form. The idea design is based on the principle of cohousing (community housing), which is designed for living in family houses and apartment buildings. The main idea of the project is to respond to today's individualized and automated time, when construction has ceased to focus on the formation of shared spaces = interpersonal relationships, it increasing anonymity and isolation. Basic social interactions, mutually beneficial relations between neighbors are disappearing. It is also a response to the disintegration of the traditional family and can replace family background. In the architectural form it also solves the issue of uniformity, the loss of human scale in modern construction. The emphasis in the project is on the diversity of types of apartments and on a diverse range of public, semi-public, semi-private and private spaces.

The content of the thesis is a study of the new use of brownfield, which was created by the termination of the UP Závody furniture company in Bučovice. The subject of the study is the urban design of a new residential area, with additional, required and related functions. The design of the site, including the newly subsumed buildings, is only created at the urban level. In the form of an architectural study, one selected (reference) residential block of an urban complex is then solved. An important aspect is the reaction to the nearby presence of the renaissance castle by observing the preconditions for the monument care.

The master thesis "Zikmund Reach and his photographic collection" focuses on Zikmund Reach's photographs of old Prague. Firstly theis describes the life and familly of the publisher and follows by gradual work of an publisher. The subsequent chapter focuses on photography as a commodity and presents briefly life and work poof a French photographer Eugène Atget. The next part of the thesis devotes on the main photographic topics of the work od Zikmund Reach including an extensive collection of "Prague types" which is a sociological reflecion of society in the second half of 19th century compared with a similar collection of "Viennies types". The main topic is based on the photographic albums of "Disappeared Prague" which aren't known yet. In conclusion the thesis focuses on archives in which the collection of Zikmund Reach is stored in and their mutual thematic coherence.

Now when information is abundant, practice of Data Journalism is quickly becoming a core technique of the 21st century newsrooms. The diploma thesis "Data Journalism aimed by Datablog IHNED.cz" is focused on introducing Data Journalism as a genre responding to the changes in the society and the technology development. The theoretical part concerns with the history of the subject, the workflow of Data Journalism in the newsrooms and the limitations; such as inappropriate business models, difficult process of collecting data or the lack of training. The main goal of the research is to map the work of the Czech data team in the IHNED.cz and compare the results with the work of teams in Australia. The research methods are combination of quantitative and qualitative analyses. The main source of information are interviews conducted with data journalists from the Czech Republic and Australia. On top of that the research gives deeper understanding of how the integration of data journalists in the newsrooms affect the way journalism can support the existence of media organizations and contribute to the public good. The last part offers predictions of the future of Data Journalism.

The diploma thesis is focused on the development of natural science literacy of pre-school age children and pupils of younger school age. The aim of this thesis is didactic processing of materials which will enable teachers/lecturers/parents to develop natural science literacy of children, without themselves having to have education in chemistry for correct understanding of the experiment, and thanks to which, at the same time, they could pass on the correct information to children in such way that prevents from the occurrence of natural science misconceptions to a maximum possible extent. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to child ontogenesis in pre-school and early school age, which is subsequently reflected in the creation of materials for development of natural science literacy of this target age category of children. The theoretical work includes also the characterisation of the term natural science literacy as a possible tool for increasing interest in the study of natural sciences. It states the expected positives, but also possible negatives, especially in the form of resulting misconceptions which can be associated to the introduction of natural science education for younger children. Problems of dealing with radioactive materials, especially burnt out nuclear fuel, are a delicate and discussed topic in the Czech Republic and other advanced countries nowadays. In this work, the realization of radiation control of warehouse of burnt-out atomic fuel of nuclear power plant Temelín is analysed. Step by step there are stored packaging files filled with burnt-out fuel which is produced by the running of atomic reactors. In the introductory chapters individual packaging files are described. The shielding of stored burnt-out nuclear fuel and prevention of release of radionuclides beyond the protective casing of packaging files depend on their quality. Further the lo-cality of nuclear plant Temelín, where the warehouse of burnt-out nuclear fuel is placed including manipulations which are carried out with the packaging file, is described. The emphasis is placed on monitoring technological parameters during the storage of pack-aging files. The target of this work is to analyse the radiation control of warehouse of burnt-out nuclear fuel, precautions of radiation protection valid for this object and con-sider the possibility of optimalization of used measuring devices, suggest the adjustment of the way of carried out monitoring. For meeting the goals of this works it was neces-sary to carry out monitoring the current radiation situation in the storage boat which is partly filled with packaging spaces when according to the following calculations I ap-proached to the prediction of the level of radiation situation during the maximum filled storage boat. These calculations are at the same time the background for the proposal of adjustment of regime precautions in this object with the aim to optimise the professional radiation. One of the basic strategic targets of the operator of nuclear plant Temelín, company ČEZ a.s., is to ensure a safe operation of the biggest Czech nuclear plant, one of the basic conditions for meeting this target is to ensure the radiation control and pro-tection in the required quality. The results, which are the output of this work, will be given to the department Operation of radiation protection for other practical usage, pos-sible adjustment of a current operation documentation which solves the radiation control of the storage of burnt-out nuclear fuel.

This diploma work deals with the use of the Internet in German language teaching, especially while working with the text book Team Deutsch. The first part of the work summarises general aspects of using the Internet in the language teaching and describes the interactive German text book Deutsch mit Max. The practical part of the work concentrates on the connecting of the text book Team Deutsch with the Internet, brings a list of suitable links to the particular lessons, several worksheets for using in the class and a list of useful web pages for everyday teachers{\crq} work.

The thesis deals with the celection of suitable legal form for amateur theater group. The number of types of organizations, which are evaluated, is after the change of Civil Code quite huge and comprise besides non-profit organizations also border and mixed organizations. The main aim of thesis is to select the legal form, which is because of their characteristics the best for small amateur theater group and then set up an accountig system, which could the organization use. The amateur theater group is part of the Cultural department of the city, funded organization now. The main method is comparsion. Individually legal forms are compared according to valid laws and membership requirements, which is assigned a score. The sub-goals are creation of the code of rules and then set the accounting and taxes system.
