Závislosť finančnej gramotnosti a dopytu po produktoch zabezpečujúcich tretí vek / Relationship between financial literacy and demand of products providing wellbeing in retirement

Zimermannová, Petra January 2016 (has links)
This master thesis aims to explore the relationship between financial literacy and probability of saving in private pension schemes in the Czech Republic among citizens older than 50 years. While the first part of this master thesis provides overview of pension systems among the OECD countries with emphasis on the Czech Republic, the second part brings the theoretical background for the financial literacy and for the measurements of financial literacy according to international studies. The last part of this master thesis serves as a practical part of this master thesis. In order to examine the relationship between financial literacy and saving for retirement, we performed a logistic regression. We set the probability of saving in a private pension scheme as a dependent variable and independent variables according to the studied literature. The last part of this master thesis also provides the summary of our conclusions about the importance of financial literacy within the decisions about saving for retirement and also the opinion that the lack of financial literacy was one of the main causes for unsuccessful pension reform in the Czech Republic where the second pillar was cancelled recently.

Klíč, Dalibor January 2013 (has links)
This thesis expands the level of knowledge of Czech written papers in area of quantitative comparison of pension systems. Methodology of the paper is taken from Melbourne Mercer Global Pension Index (MMGPI) model which comprehensively describes entire topic of pension systems. Distinct feature of the thesis is that it does not focus on describing the system itself however it examines it functioning and performance in areas of adequacy, sustainability and integrity. The goal of the thesis is to apply the same methodology and data sources as the MMGPI in order to incorporate Czech pension system. Analysis proves higher than average performance of Czech system in comparison with 18 countries of MMGPI. Comparison across over 30 indicators highlights pros and cons of Czech pension system. Thesis then recommends which features of Czech system should remain and on the example of best performing countries discuss possible improvements.

Internetové obchodování s mezinárodním prvkem: ochrana spotřebitele v Evropské unii / Internet business transactions with an international element: consumer protection in the European Union

Veselková, Kristýna January 2020 (has links)
INTERNET BUSINESS TRANSACTION WITH AN INTERNATIONAL ELEMENT: CONSUMER PROTECTION IN THE EUROPEAN UNION Abstract This thesis focuses on the legal aspects of consumer protection within the European Union when concluding a contract with an international element on the Internet. The motivation for the thesis is to address the new legal challenges which the matter creates. In case of contracts negotiated at a distance, there is no possibility of verification of the contracting party or goods or services themselves. Such situation increases the risk of abuse of the position of the stronger party. Furthermore, the unclear definition of borders in cross-border online purchasing complicates the matter of private international law on jurisdiction and applicable law. This thesis aims to describe and analyse the specific rules for consumer protection on the Internet within the European Union in order to inform stakeholders about the current state of the law in this area. In particular, the thesis deals with three issues: what kind of protection is provided to consumers in cross-border online purchase within the European Union; which court has jurisdiction over a dispute arising from consumer contract with an international element entered into on the Internet; and how the applicable law for these contracts is...

Dopad působení amerických soukromých vojenských společností na monopol státu na legitimní násilí v případě USA a Iráku / Impact of the activities of US private military companies on the monopoly of the legitimate use of violence in the case of the US and Iraq

Manasterská, Lenka January 2011 (has links)
This master thesis analyses impact of private military companies on the monopoly on legitimate violence. It examines the influence of private military companies on this monopoly in case of the United States and Iraq during the war in Iraq. The united States are in a position of a sending state that has had a long tradition of using these companies. On the other hand Iraq can be seen as a weak state and one could presume that the use of private military companies has a negative impact on its monopoly on violence. Just to validate the negative or positive impact of these companies a state and size of the militaries as main means of violence, and a capability to enforce law on a state's territory is analyzed.

"Mně bylo osmnáct let a vdávala jsem se z čistý lásky." Vývoj svatebního obřadu v komunistickém Československu / "I was eighteen and got married out of real love." Evolution of wedding ceremony in Communist Czechoslovakia

Hodačová Balvínová, Lenka January 2011 (has links)
The aim of this master's thesis is the study of the development and changes of the wedding customs in the years 1948 - 1989, i.e. during the period of communistic Czechoslovakia. These developments and changes were monitored by oral history quality research - by the direct interviews with participants in discussions and comparison with available sources and photographic documentation from the weddings in each period of time. The work is focused more detailed on the influence of the socialism and its economic and cultural conditions over the development of wedding practices and customs and then on deviations from the Western, or better to say non-communistic model of changes in wedding customs in Europe during the post-war period of the 20th Century. The research was pursued at the regional level. The narrators were selected with regard to their responsibility for the appropriate generation and to the time they have married.

Kogentní normy v mezinárodním obchodním styku / Mandatory rules in the international commercial relations

Kolářová, Anna Anežka January 2015 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to define the cathegory of peremptory rules in private international law and to describe their specific use in the commercial domain compared to business to consumer contractual relations. The reason for my research was my concern for the conflict between the formal possibility to conclude a contract and the actual enforceability of the contractual claims before a court or before alternative dispute resolution bodies in the domain of private international law. A major part of the thesis uses an analytical approach and a grammatical, teleological and logical interpretation of the mentioned legal instruments. The final part is grounded on the legal comparation of several laws across different countries and thus demonstrating how different approaches to peremtory rules may influence the actual interpetation of various legal relations and the contractual liberty in general. The thesis is composed of four chapters and a conclusion. To begin with, the first chapter focuses on the peremptory rules in international commercial relations as a whole. It aims to define the core notion of the peremptory rules. It also reals with a personal and material scope of the thesis - the particularities of commercial relations. Furthermore, the second chapter examines the application of the...

Evropské mezinárodní právo soukromé - vybrané otázky / European international law - selected issues

Ondrušová, Miroslava January 2012 (has links)
1 ABSTRACT European international law - selected issues The subject of this thesis is an analysis of a new procedural measure of European law - European order for payment (hereinafter as "EOP") and exploration of its application in practice from the perspective of the Czech plaintiff and Czech court. I have chosen this topic because of my own experience concerning cross-border debt recovery through the EOP. In this context, I decided to find out how this legal measure works in practice with regard to its purpose of providing a simplified, accelerated and cost effective procedure for the recovery of uncontested pecuniary civil and commercial claims in cross-border cases. In the final part of the thesis, I made the conclusion that the Council Regulation 1896/2006 of 12 December 2006, in creating a European order for payment procedure, (hereinafter as "REOP") meets its objectives and its implementation is a valuable asset to the creditors against non paying debtors. The thesis is divided into 3 parts. The first part is as an introduction to European private international law containing five chapters. The first and second chapters explain the concepts of private international law and European private international law. The third chapter deals with their mutual relationship. The fourth chapter describes the...
