Computer Aided Filter Design Using Intel SPAS20 SoftwareOlive, Robert L. 01 January 1982 (has links) (PDF)
This paper demonstrates conversion of an analog filter into a digital filter using computer aided software. The filter design to be demonstrated is a common third order Butterworth filter. This paper is not an attempt to review all filter designs or applications, but rather the attempt is to give a detailed explanation of the steps required to design almost any digital filter.
No knowledge of the Intel Series 210 microcomputer development system is assumed. The appendices contain introduction to the Series 210 system.
Chapter I demonstrates the steps needed to design this filter without computer aid. Included are both analog and digital filter response characteristics.
Chapter II supplemented with Appendix C demonstrates the computer aided filter design. Again, filter characteristics are included.
Chapter III compares the results of Chapter I and II.
Even though this paper attempts to be inclusive of most of the computer details, it should not be used in exclusion of the available Series 210 manuals.

The spas and sanatoria in Silesia (Czech part) from the 2nd half of the 19th century until the end of the 1930s Abstract The work is focused on the development and historical development of spas, spa resorts and sanatoria in Silesia in its Czech part, which used natural healing resources, favourable climatic conditions, baths, balneal treatment and resting mode. The object of interest is Gräfenberg Spa, later Gräfenberg-Frývaldov (today's Spa Jeseník), spa in Dolní Lipová, Sanatorium in Zlaté Hory, Spa Karlova Studánka, Jánské koupele (Mel ské koupele near Opava), spa in Darkov, small spa in Komorní Lhotka and pulmonary sanatorium in Jablunkov, which was right from the beginning a sanatorium for the treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis. During the treatment, a considerable attention was paid to the use of the resting mode and of the favourable climatic environment. On this territory, we can see different conditions of the creation of individual spas and sanatoria. Namely, on the basis of the effects of natural resources, the Spa of Karlova Studánka, Jánské koupele and Darkov Spa was built, which used natural mineral waters. The sanatorium in Zlaté Hory, a spa resort in Komorní Lhotka and the pulmonary sanatorium in Jablunkov were established thanks to the effects of a favourable climate. The origin of the...

This dissertation deals with not fully explored area of daily life, a personal hygiene. The main period which this work dwells on is the turn of the 19th and 20th century but sometimes I need to go further to the past when the fundamentals of the personal hygiene were laid. The work tries to devone the conditions of the hygiene which were influenced by sociocultural as well as scientific and technical factors. It also studies the personal hygiene including care of body, hair, teeth, cosmetics and body scent alike. Among these topics belong linen and clothes. One of the highlighted aims is revealing the function of spas (especially modern balneology) and up-and-coming physical education and sport in the increasing standarts of the personal hygiene. The heuristic base is composed of contemporary specialized literature and press as well as memoirs and encyclopeadias.

Trebon is famous not only for the spa, a rich cultural life and many sights, but also fish farming and pond system that consists of numerous lakes and other water bodies. Every year there are many exhibitions, festivals, theatrical performances and much more. Trebon is a state dominated by the castle, but for visitors, the town offers many more attractions. The landscape around Trebon calls for various types of sporting activities and through the presence of many lakes for water sports. Can not forget the beautiful countryside of Trebon, who became a protected area. Due to these factors, Trebon has great potential for tourism and its further development. This thesis has set three goals. The first goal is the task of analyzing supply and demand of tourism in the town of Trebon. The second objective is the investigation of motivation, expectations and images of selected cultural activities to supplement the product mix for the selected segments of visitors. The third objective is to devise ways of communication and cooperation in cultural and tourism sectors in the town of Trebon. The thesis begins with a theoretical part, which serves as a basis for understanding the important concepts and other relationships. There were also more characteristic of the area in question. Most of the information provided Třeboňsko situational analysis, which were defined in the most important elements needed for tourism. Information obtained from the situational analysis and survey were then used for SWOT analysis. The conclusion of the thesis deals with proposals for new products in Trebon and proposals for improving communication and cooperation between cultural institutions and organizations engaged in tourism.

Lázeňství v České republice. Se zaměřením na lázně Jeseník, Luhačovice, Třeboň a Františkovy Lázně / Spa in the Czech Republic. With a focus on spa Jeseník, Luhačovice, Třeboň and Františkovy LázněNěmčík, Lukáš January 2011 (has links)
Spa in the Czech Republic With a focus on spa Jeseník, Luhačovice, Třeboň and Františkovy Lázně As the subject of my work I chose the Czech Republic spa. I look at the spa environment as a social phenomenon that affects many areas of social life and has a great tradition in Czech culture. With its unique atmosphere and the composition of the clients who visit them, they are more than just popular places by tourists or health facilities but they have also influence on the life of the living there and spa visitors. The work is intended to serve as a general base that could be suitable for further exploration of this area, and therefore tries to cover as many areas of the issue as possible. I try to work with examples from history to point out the role of the spa in the past and how they gradually transformed into what they are today. I also look at services that are offered at the spa and the structure of clients who come to the spa. My field of interest was also the formation of spa towns and life in them. This area is distinguished from others for a large number of changing spa clients. In my work I also did a probe between clients and employees of spa Jeseník, Luhačovice, Třeboň and Františkovy Lázně. With it, I was able to outline some of the differences between the various spas. Spas in the...

Termální lázně Yverdon, pět smyslů v architektuře / Thermal baths Yverdon, five senses in architectureLišková, Nela January 2015 (has links)
The spa area is located in western Switzerland in Yverdon-les-Bains, which extends along the southern shores of Lake Neuchâtel. The aim was to replace the current Spa complex which capacity and operationally not meet today's requirements and also to increase capacity accommodation in the form of hotel. New spa complex is placed as solitaire in the area between the spa parks which creates fluent transition between them. Spa function is divided into multiple objects that have their own character, but which in their complexity creates one house. These objects "float" on the surface of the water, unites them and divides its operations at the same time.

Occurrence des légionelles dans les eaux thermales tunisiennes et évaluation de l'activité anti-legionella des huiles essentielles de plantes autochtones / Occurence of Legionella in tunisian spas and evaluation of the anti-Legionella activity of essential oils from tunisian plantsChaftar, Nawel 06 November 2013 (has links)
Spa environment is favorable to the growth of Legionella. Tunisia, which has many spa, has developed a traditional herbal medicine. The objective of this work was to characterize strains of Legionella isolated from 3 spas and to investigate the antimicrobial potential of EOs from Tunisian plants.2 strains of L. londiniensis and 16 of L. pneumophila (serotypes 1, 4, 5, 6 and 8) were isolated and had different pulsotypes from those of the CNRL database.EOs from six Tunisian plants were extracted, analyzed (GC-MS) and tested against L. pneumophila (8 strains, serotypes 1, 4, 5, 6 and 8). The EO of Juniperus phoenicea L. (1S isoborneol 20.91% and 18.30% α-pinene) and Thymus vulgaris (carvacrol 88.50%) were the most active (MIC <0.03 mg/mL and ≤0.07 mg/mL, respectively). The activity of 20 EOs (6 from Tunisian plants and 14 commercial ones) was evaluated against 11 bacterial species (6 Gram+, 5 Gram-) and 7 fungal species (4 yeasts, 3 filamentous). The EO of Tunisian T. vulgaris was the most active (Gram-: MIC ≤ 0.34 mg/mL, and Gram +: MIC ≤0.7 mg/mL; yeasts MIC ≤0.55 mg/mL; mold: MIC=0.3 mg/mL; dermatophytes: MIC ≤0.07 mg/mL). It showed a higher activity than the commercial EO of T. vulgaris, certainly due to their different composition. In conclusion, the presence of Legionella in the studied spas should encourage the authorities to strengthen the preventive measures. The antimicrobial efficacy of EOs, especially from Tunisian T. vulgaris, suggest their potential interest in water treatment or food storage.
