Skinheads - političtí aktivisté? / Skinheads - political activists?

The theme of the thesis entitled "Skinheads - political activists" is a description and follow-depth analysis of apolitical segment of the Czech skinhead subculture in the terms of their political orientations. Introduction to the theme consists of the subculture theories which were created in past. The following methodological part summarizes research progress of the selection of respondents by snowball sampling, the scenario of in-depth interviews and the analysis of alternative media. After this part there is a brief introduction to the history of skinhead subculture. Empirical findings than summarize political influences on subculture and its values and political orientations. The aim of this work is to reveal the link between extremism and subculture of skinheads in the Czech environment. The results of the analysis revealed that the apolitical segment of Czech skinhead subculture is not inherently extremist movement, although in some particular values intertwined with racist and xenophobic ideologies. Title: Skateboarding - sport or lifestyle Objectives: The aim of the thesis is to examine connections, relationships and results, why are skateboarders prefering this activity and to describe them objectively within the majority culture to understand their thoughts. We will try to describe, what are the main differences between them and the rest of the society and how it is important to their own identity. Methods: We gained needed quantity of information from 6 skateboarders, with the aid of qualitative method - semi-structured interview. The data picking was taking place from April to July 2015. From the gained information we analysed behaviour patterns, motives, motivation and thought of the skateboarders. Results: Skateboarders never think about definitions, have no interest in somehow categorizing skateboarding. Some skateboarders immediately identify with the fact that skateboarding is their lifestyle, some of them gradually realize that skateboarding lifestyle can be for their way of life considered, others argue that they would skateboarding lifestyle imagine more intensive than how they do it. Nevertheless they admit, that their life can probably be closer to something that could be called the lifestyle of skateboarders. So that a man could confess lifestyle, activity must be operated...

The whole thesis has been trying to have a look into marginal music subcultures as a field of inspiration necessary with forming an author´s performance. One of the main sources of that is the metal sub-culture which is divided into other sub-sub-fields. Author is fixing the blackmetal sub-culture into center of attention and she is trying to undercover its possibilities by theatrical items. She is trying to look at common values between theater and metal music and she is interested in how to utilize music itself, which actually serves as sound curtain only. During authors creation she is interested into expression means replacing the text. Into the front position metal aesthetic is posted, as an outlet of scenographic way of thinking and creating, and last but not least, it is the main concern of interpretation of Sami´s culture and its transformation into theatrical form.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to find out models and ideals of the pupils of elementary schools. The study is divided into two major parts. The theoretical part describes specifics of pupils from a view of developmental psychology, areas where pupils can find their models and the issue of youth subcultures. Furthermore the attention is aimed at a development of research of pupils' models and ideals. Two extensive studies concerning this topic are described here. The empirical part presents results of the questionnaire survey conducted at an Elementary School in Prague. The topic of this survey was pupils' models, ideals and life wishes.

It is associated with a number of other current issues that affect various areas of the life of the society. The thesis focuses on their identification, their historical development, and their reflection from the point of view of social sciences. It attempts to interpret them as socio-cultural phenomena. These problems manifest themselves in quite divergent areas, such as gender differences, influence of technology and the media on the society, economic behaviour of people, self- presentation, social activities, impact of new technology, dissemination of socially pathological phenomena, escapist functions of the media, creation and reproduction of social networks and social groups. The thesis applies an axiological and non- axiological approach to the examined phenomena. The solution of the topic is complemented with findings relating to the specified problems, which have been obtained through an empirical survery.

This thesis is based on theoretical findings in the area of developmental psychology and focuses on the period of adolescence. The aim of the thesis is the description of specific features of adolescence as a developmental period typically associated with certain types of behaviour and typical language usage, mainly in the area of vocabulary. The thesis aims at linking description of intellectual development with linguistic alasysis to specify norms of communication within the youth subculture. Theoretical claims are verified by data from empirical research in the form of a survey and linguistic analyses of both audio and video recordings and samples of written communication between adolescents. The thesis accentuates the term youth subculture and puts forward that one of its main characteristics is a specific area of vocabulary which helps to strengthen peer relationships.

Porovnání subžánrů punkové hudby / Comparison of punk music subgenres

This thesis deals with the thematic definition of subgenres of punk music and their comparison. Theoretical part consists of the definition of the concept of culture and several other selected terms. A subculture will be defined as a theoretical unit, which is followed by a historical basis for the punk subculture itself. In addition, the theoretical part deals with the relationship of punk music to left-wing extremism and outlines the beginnings of punk music in Czechoslovakia and the Czech Republic. The practical part is based on interviews with interpreters, of which three selected interviews are presented. The thesis also defines the subgenres themselves and defines their thematic content. These subgenres are then compared at their thematic level and the themes common to all sub-genres are defined.
