Symbol a mimické divadlo / Symbol and physical theatre

Votočková, Kateřina January 2016 (has links)
The aim of the thesis is to survey the connections among basic concepts like symbol, archetype, story in connection with their use in physical theatre. The symbol itself is more visual than verbal and therefore it works as one of the basic elements of the physical theater production. By defining common definitions seen in the wider context associated with the concepts of physical theater – whether it's mimésis, sign, symbol or archetype – the thesis aims towards the essence of the nonverbal dramatic works, namely the plot and the story. I link overall conclusions of researched terms and practical production concept on example of project Uroboros by Barbora Debnárová.

Obnova klášterních zahrad

Makovská, Kateřina January 2014 (has links)
The thesis aims at creating a restoration study of the Rajhrad Abbey monastery gardens. To create the most valuable design, values and conflicts were established in the region as well as opportunities and risks. After a stay in the monastery, author got to know monks everyday life and gained a more complete overview of the demands and needs of the Benedictines on the premises. The aim is to create a harmonious functioning self-sustaining space, filled with features and variability. The space in which monks will be able to spend the time praying and working while visitors will relax and open their souls. The combination of material and spiritual world reaches its peak here. The design respects genius loci eminently, in the areas where it was kept. In places where their identity was changed by inappropriate intervention, the author tries to bring back or restore original values. Analysis confirmed the uniqueness of the place and its importance. The design then works with synchronization and harmonization of content in space and their overall interconnection and harmony. Several very different areas conceal number of quite varying potentials and contents. Thus, the same amount of different approaches to the solution. Historical values and compositional elements are maintained and respected. A major theme is the restoration of the original Santini's entry, which completely changes visitor's perception of the space. The place full of meditation, prayer, relaxation, peace and tranquility will certainly find its place in today's stress-filled time. Location near the city of Brno is perfect for weekend tourists who leave behind the hustle and confusion of big city and working duties. This object is sure to be highly demanded and rated tourist destination and beloved home to religious monks. More than half of authors focus, space and beauty of the abbey is dedicated to them. Their life, enthusiasm for independence of the monastery and herbs ware one of the engines the thesis was driven by.

Křesťanská symbolika v románu Lhář M. A. Hansena jako díle křesťanského existencialismu / Christian Symbols in M. A. Hansen's Novel The Liar as a Work of Christian Existentialism

Slouková, Radka January 2011 (has links)
The Liar is one of the Danish writer Martin A. Hansen's best known and popular novels. The Liar is influenced by existentialism, one can call it a work of Christian existentialism. In my thesis I demonstrate which main features of Christian existentialism are present in the novel. In the first part I describe existentialism as philosophy. Existentialism came from France to Denmark. It is a philosophy that focuses on the concrete individual. People must create their own existentence by accepting responsibility for their action. The important concepts are freedom, choice and responsibility. They denote the authentic existence. People in the inauthentic existence are passive, they don't act and don't accept responsibility. Existentialism takes up the question of freedom, too. But one is condemned to freedom and can't escape. That's why the world is absurd and incomprehensible. One can find most of the existentialist elements in The Liar. The protagonist Johannes Vig lives an inauthentic existence. He likes to lie to the people. He is passive, he doesn't act. In the middle of the novel he understands that he didn't live right and tries to find a better way of living. It is not easy, Johannes has lost the fight about Annemari (the girl he loves) and slept with Rigmor (the woman who loves him). But now he has...

TITLE: The etymological analysis of colour names and related idioms AUTHOR: Anna Hořejší DEPARTMENT: Department of the French language and literature SUPERVISOR: Mgr. Jiří Jančík ABSTRACT: This diploma thesis concerns the etymological analyses of colour names in the French language and related idioms. In the theoretical part we present the basic linguistic terminology necessary for the accomplishment of the etymological analyses; the practical part concerns the analyses itself. The objective of the thesis is to deeply analyze the six basic colours both from the etymological and symbolic point of view. Furthermore, the thesis concerns the etymological analyses of colours the names of which are to some extend specific and remarkable. We talk about colours like: fox tail, bonbon, the Berlin blue, tea, khaki, pearl or snow, divided into groups according to the word they contain (colours containing a name of an animal, food, liquid, material, the place of origin, etc.). These colours are examined not only etymologically; we are also interested in the reason for which they are called so. In the last part of the thesis we scrutinize also idioms containing a name of a colour; we talk about idioms like white night, yellow danger, to be bad like a red donkey, cordon bleu or green tongue. In this case, our goal is to...

Vlasy vábit, válčit, vzdorovat. Sociální role vlasů v kulturně historickém kontextu / Hair as a mirror. Social and cultural dimensions of hair symbolism

Kernová, Michaela January 2011 (has links)
We focus on hair as a symbol of personality, cultural and social influence and the object of ritual ceremonies.1 Hair is not only a vitally important part of human body but it is an important cultural phenomenon and serves as important cultural artifact, because it is simultaneously public (visible to everyone), personal (biologically linked to the body), and highly malleable to suit cultural and personal preferences. Hair - whether present or absent, restored or removed, abundant or scarce, long or short, bound or unbound, dyed or natural - marks a person as clearly as a speech, clothing, and smell. Hair tells a lot about every man, about his age, social and family status, his sexual availability and desirability, about his interests, his character, his political stance and religious preferences, his roots, background, his membership in some subculture and about the fashion and the norms of the period (and his conformability or inadaptability). It is a perfect culture- anthropological topic becauce every culture has particular rules and norms how to dispose of hair. Social and cultural influence on hairstyling could be asserted by means of fashion (mild form) or more serious forms of restrict orders (even written as the laws and directions) or just by cultural norms which set the looks of "normal,...
